The Cost To Arise TalkShow
Grief has a way of distorting the things we once felt certain about. Many believers love Jesus deeply, trust His Word, and walk closely with Him—yet there are seasons when grief enters and begins to distort how we see God. In this episode of The Cost to Arise Talkshow by Destiny ConnectHERS with Tammara J, we look at the story of Mary of Bethany—a woman who loved Jesus deeply. She sat at His feet to learn from Him and poured out costly perfume in an act of devotion. Yet when her brother Lazarus died and Jesus did not arrive in the timing she expected, grief affected her emotions and her understanding of what God was doing. Mary’s story reminds us that grief does not only come when we lose a loved one. Sometimes grief comes when we lose: • a life we prayed for • a relationship God asked us to release • a career path that no longer aligns with our purpose • a plan that did not unfold the way we expected In John 11 we see something powerful about Jesus. He wept. He was deeply moved. This shows us that God is not distant from our pain—He cares about the things that concern us and hurts with us and for us. Yet even in the middle of their grief, Jesus remained submitted to the Father’s plan, knowing what was unfolding would reveal greater glory. If you are walking through a wilderness season where grief has challenged your confidence in God, this episode will encourage you to lean into Him rather than pull away. Jesus meets us in our grief—and His plans are always greater than what we can see in the moment.
