The Early Sessions
Session 426: Cosmic Threads and God’s Original Growing Pains Recorded on the humid night of August 5, 1968. Jane Roberts went into a super deep trance for this one—like "can’t feel my toes" deep—and Seth basically dropped a cosmic lore bomb on us. This session is all about how our brains trick us into thinking time is a straight line and why "All That Is" (the big-picture Creator) is basically a recovered artist who used to be in a lot of pain. The Neurological "Camouflage" First off, Seth tells us that our idea of space and time isn't "the" truth—it's just how our nerves are wired. It’s like we’re wearing VR goggles that only let us see one frame at a time. * Time is just a nerve lag: Because our nerve pulses have to jump from one end to another, we experience a "lapse." This creates the illusion of past, present, and future. * The Psychedelic Shortcut: Seth mentions that psychedelic drugs can tweak these inner workings, giving us "slight glimpses into other realities" that exist whether we see them or not. * Simultaneous Living: Other personality structures don't have this lag. They see everything at once. Seth notes: "Events, many events, are simultaneously perceived. Reactions are also nearly instantaneous in your terms." * Intensities over Time: For these advanced personalities, growth isn't about getting better over time; it's about experiencing the "intensities" and all the probabilities of an event at once. The Infinite Webwork of "Leapfrogging" Think of your life as a single thread. Seth says that’s just the surface. In reality, there’s an "inconceivably miraculous webwork" of threads above and below us. * The Multi-Dimensional Self: We aren't stuck on one line. Developed personalities can actually leap from one thread to another. * Meeting Yourself: You might meet a "future" version of yourself on another thread. Seth explains: "Only by meeting one of these other selves however can he become aware of the nature of this strange structure through which he is traveling." * Dream Communication: Your "overall self" stays in touch with all these versions of you through dreams and dissociated states. The Agony of All That Is This is where it gets a bit "chilling." Seth explains that "All That Is" wasn't always a jubilant creator. It started in a state of "nonbeing"—not nothingness, but a state of being "blocked from all expression." * The Cosmic Artist’s Block: Imagine having the vision for every masterpiece ever created inside you, but having no hands, no rock, and no pigment to make them. Seth calls this a state of "agony." * The Impetus for Creation: This pain was so intense it actually forced creativity to burst forth. "This is the agony from which creativity originally was drawn, and its reflection is still seen." * God Might Be Evolving Too: In a wild twist, Seth admits that even All That Is might not know everything. It's searching for others like it and might have even forgotten its own origin. Final Thoughts and Credits Everything in existence—down to the "most minute consciousness"—is hardwired with the drive to create because we all carry the memory of that original "agony" of not being able to express ourselves. We’re all triumphs against that first state of silence! * Study the Source: If you want the full, unedited cosmic experience, you’ve got to check out the Seth Material books. * Visit the Source: Head over to the New Awareness Network website and bookstore at sethcenter.com/the-early-sessions [https://sethcenter.com/the-early-sessions].
