Dr Sloat is Professor of Practice in the School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs at the IE University, Madrid. Prior to joining IE, she held several senior positions in the United States government. Most recently, she served in the Biden Administration as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council. She also worked on European policy in the State Department and Congress.
