He needed some financial help. Their band’s name was Dire Straights. And they needed another band member for their world tour. It was the perfect opportunity. Both parties mutually getting what they needed. And who knows how that could have turned out for both of them. The world will never know. Because  he turned the band down. It was around the year 1989 and this up and coming star wanted nothing more than to make his mark on the country music world. He called them back and regretfully declined because he felt he could do something great in the country world. And so a man with financial difficulties chose to stay there and the band would have to find someone else. All year I have struggled with a few of my classes at school with them getting loud while they are supposed to be having quiet time working on their iPads doing work in reading and math. The Darkest Brightest Day

Passover was always a reminder of both the bad things of the world and the wonderful ways of God. On one hand the Passover was dark. Sacrifices. Blood on the door frame. A death angel. Darkness that sticks with you for generations. A reminder of the human condition. But at the same time the Passover was a bright light for a people enslaved. It was hope. It was freedom. It was a people getting their life back after years of hurt and pain. And that is the reason it was memorialized. Stories that would be repeated for generations. A memorial meal to help the people reflect on the powerful moment that God delivered them from Egyptian captivity. Songs and scriptures that would be memorized and repeated year after year. God’s love on full display for His people. I work at a school all day with kids whose ages from 4 year old to Seniors. I mostly see kids up through 5th grade but occasionally have the chance to visit with the older ones.
