The Fuck It Shift
In this episode of The Fuck It Shift, Adam Ross breaks down a simple chess analogy for anyone dealing with betrayal, loss, change, or a relationship that didn’t work out the way they thought it would. Adam explains that in chess, the game only ends when the king falls. Pieces can be lost. Pawns can be sacrificed. The board can change completely. But if the king is still on the board, there are still moves left. He connects that idea to real life: business partners leaving, relationships ending, people betraying you, or certain seasons coming to a close. Those moments can hurt, but they don’t always mean the game is over. Sometimes the hardest part is accepting that not every person is meant to stay on the board forever. Some people are only in your life for a season, and losing them may be part of the move that allows you to keep going. This episode is a reminder to panic less about the piece that fell off the board and focus more on the moves you still have left. If the king is still standing, you’re still in the game.
