Does evil have to exist to appreciate good?

(Short Answer) No! (in a perfect world) but we don't live in a perfect world. *How does God bring forth good out of evil deeds? Read: Genesis chapters 37-50 *One must understand that you can't always blame the Devil for the problems that happens in your life. *There are 3 reasons for evil things happening in your life: 1. You 2. Someone else 3. the Devil Jesus dying on the cross for your sin debt is far better than you trying to pay for it yourself. God will use the bad to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others.

What makes a person good?

What makes a person good? Nothing can make a person good through our own merit. Because God is good. it is by His grace and mercy that we have a chance to do good things toward each other. And through the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ for our sins; we are seen as good because of Him.
