Description

In this episode, we welcome Fr. José Alberto Mesa SJ, the outgoing Secretary for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education of the Society of Jesus. Learning from his experiences over his 15-year role as Secretariat, we reflect on the gifts and challenges of Jesuit Education across the globe. Fr. Mesa’s profound influence on the Jesuit Global Network of Schools is rooted in a deep respect of students and their classrooms, and this episode explores how an awareness of context and our tradition’s value of change are a continual influence of the impact of Jesuit schools around the world.

Empowering Access to Jesuit Education for Young Women with Jacques Joseph

In this episode, we welcome Jacques Joseph who discusses Loyola School’s INES Program (Institute for Nurture, Enrichment, and Self-Empowerment), a free educational and leadership enrichment program that prepares middle-school aged girls to succeed in top Catholic and independent high schools in New York City. Founded in 2019, this unique program is named in the spirit of Ines Pasqual, whose compassion and commitment to Saint Ignatius of Loyola left a lasting legacy on his life. Young women who participate in the INES Program are devoted to making substantial gains in learning, leadership, and service to others. In alignment with the Ignatian spirit of cura personalis, INES strives to enroll highly motivated and deeply committed girls from predominantly underserved backgrounds.
