What we hold as sacred text was often written by people whose worlds had fallen apart—shaped not despite disaster and dysfunction, but because of it. Her story may just change how we see our own role in God’s work. Rev. Karen Taylor retired after twenty-four years of full-time ministry in the United Methodist Church, finishing her last seven years as Associate Pastor at JCFUMC. Retirement has given her space to enjoy home projects and a bit of travel. This July, she will return to part-time ministry as the Episcopal Services and Clergy Care Administrator for the Missouri Annual Conference. Karen is married to Jim, and they have one son, Jonathan.
