The Movement: The Fight For Voting Rights In 2026

This is a powerful TJPS Truth In Transit production, The Movement: The Fight For Voting Rights In 2026. The report, filmed primarily in downtown Charleston and my home studio, features the history of Black resistance, interviews with influential officials active in the movement, and how we're doing the hard work to forge a new path, ushering in a new wave of unmitigated resistance, persistence, and change. At a time when journalism, specifically black independent journalism, is under attack, I need your support to sustain this platform. Protestors Converge For May Day Resistance (FIELD REPORT)

On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I was in my hometown, Charleston, South Carolina, to witness the power of people-powered resistance. In this report, I follow members of the Union of Southern Service Workers (USSW), as they protest and voice their opposition regarding corporate greed, worker exploitation, and the erosion of human rights. Please donate and help support my Mama's recovery: https://gofund.me/b561bdb5f [https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqa3dUbTEwMENKanNkcmJtc3hFbHZnc1BoakcxUXxBQ3Jtc0treldSR19Ia05HQUJoUURXUWE1b21uUlIybHBqWVpZVFNIUlY2Y2U0aUd6WEs3dkFOSzBQQUJCZjh2VWxvMHZTYXpVWVVmVE13MlhYUndseS1nOUo0U3B4UnUwdktMQ3hzaE1qT09aV2lSbGRhTmR6QQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fgofund.me%2Fb561bdb5f&v=x62SpsbL_gg]At a time when journalism, specifically black independent journalism, is under attack, I need your support to sustain this platform. episode How South Carolina State Students Resisted A MAGA Speaker For Their Graduation cover

How South Carolina State Students Resisted A MAGA Speaker For Their Graduation

Today, I visited South Carolina State University to conduct a Truth In Transit field investigative report, after university leadership formally invited Republican Lt. Governor Pamela Evette to be a commencement speaker for graduation. The move, made in December 2025, was not told to student government leadership until this month. Upon being informed, they unequivocally disagreed with the decision, and it sparked a wave of resistance! I had many questions and concerns, so I traveled down to Orangeburg myself. I got to witness the board of trustees meeting, speak to student government representatives, and interview an alumn, who happens to be an elected official on the county council and a persistent advocate for the HBCU. In this report, I tell the history of resistance behind this HBCU, how students mobilized and won victory, and the power of using your voice to effectuate change! Please donate and help support my Mama's recovery: https://gofund.me/b561bdb5f [https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbWUtVm5lOHF4RThwZ21lV1cybVYxZDBPTFcxUXxBQ3Jtc0trVzZMZXgzR25kWms1THJVWFN5WWhwM1lBOHlzUWxEb1pxZVlST25Pcm5hdnV1bzdvc09zRDNOVnJSZXZnZThjUVBsZW1hMHFqdWp4di1FNVZwWXZQLXR2Znd6T2RPbWpvRXAwN1B1ZDhqZWhzQkNLMA&q=https%3A%2F%2Fgofund.me%2Fb561bdb5f&v=mq3cSi6erro]At a time when journalism, specifically black independent journalism, is under attack, I need your support to sustain this platform.
