The Life of a Disciple
Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2460316/fan_mail/new] Texts: Proverbs 11:2; 16:18; 26:12 · Luke 18:9–14 · Philippians 2:1–11 “Pride goes before the fall” is one of the most quoted lines in any language. But Proverbs — and Jesus — go much deeper than a warning against arrogance. Pride is the root of sin: the posture of the self - trusting in your own judgment and needing no one else, least of all God. The Pharisee in Luke 18 is not a monster — he’s familiar. Yet the tax collector goes home justified. Not because of his humility, but because of God’s mercy. The solution? Beholding the one who emptied himself for us.
