episode Podcast 3 - Just Dance (Part 1) cover

Beskrivelse

What would you say if I gave you these names - Faithless, New Order, The Prodigy and The Happy Mondays? Erm, that was quite rude and uncalled for, to be honest. And no, I'm not one of them! This is part 1 of 2 podcasts devoted to 'proper' dance music of the 80's, 90's and 00's

episode A Good Harte cover

A Good Harte

We’ve had Trolls and we’ve had Trolls. Then there was John Harte. John, a man so peeved that his beloved Joe McElderry was beaten to the Christmas Number 1 spot by a ‘noisy-shouty band’, decided to set up his own Facebook group for X Factor fans to apply for free RAGE gig tickets and not turn up. Sadly, for him at least, his plan did not work. Now, a band of Ragers have set up a special place of worship to our deity, a place where you can share stuff that you HARTE – The RAGE Lonely Hartes Club Band. So it’s with great pleasure that I present this special mix of Harte-related songs, on behalf of the group. This mp3 file includes tracks from Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, Aztec Camera, Oasis and erm, Heart. Am I purposely naming the decent artists to cover up the blatantly cheesy ones? You bet I am. It’s an hour and a bit of fun. Just stay tuned right until the very end because there may be a little something AFTER all of the Hartewank has finished! Cheers!

Podcast 2 - How's That For An Art Attack? (A Marseille Special)

I had the pleasure of watching 70’s rock band Marseille last week, who have Art Attack presenter, Neil Buchanan, on lead guitar. I enjoyed the gig immensely and it was great to see a childhood hero like Neil, in the flesh!I’ve managed to get hold of the band’s EP and an interview they did with Keith Thompson of 7 Waves Radio, last year. The interview is very in depth and will give you a good background to the band. Of course, the interview is spilt up with Marseille’s music, which I have mixed together, along with a couple of live tracks!I tried to make an audio recording of the gig, but sadly the sound quality isn’t listenable! Although, I have managed to salvage the band’s introduction at the gig, which has been edited into a 1 minute clip and is played at the start of this podcast! Enjoy and don’t forget to check out the Marseille website and MySpace page
