UC Owens started in boxing and became a champion in the state of Iowa in the 1970's. He took up the study of Shorin Ryu Karate after that and became a competitor and trainer in both kickboxing and tournament Karate. He was the head instructor of the Quad City Martial Arts Center that had several locations in the Illinois and Iowa Quad City area in the 1970's and 1980's. Currently he is enjoying retired life in Phoenix Arizona. Tune in and hear his story.
