Description

Isaiah 55:1-13 Pastor Cory delivered us an excellent message this morning out of the prophet Isaiah. Here in the latter half of the book, Isaiah has switched from themes of wrath and judgment to those of mercy and redemption. Ultimately, God promises His people the sure mercies of David, who are fulfilled in Jesus Christ. He invites us to come to Him for all of our fulfillment and renewal. Rather than running to the world for what will never be able to satisfy, God offers us an alternative: everlasting peace, comfort, strength, power, truth, etc. The only thing is, we must repent of chasing these things our way and trust that His will, wisdom, and ways are much higher and greater than our own! Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. For January and beyond, we will be focusing on the Vision of the church, praying that God will help us to reach the Shumont community and to grow as a church. Pastor Cory is also making his way through the book of Ephesians in his messages, but is taking a break from that as well during this season. We at Bald Mountain Baptist Church are so glad you have joined us here, and our prayer is that you are blessed by this message! The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel! Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Isaiah 42:10-11 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Troy Westmoreland and Cory Martinez are the co-pastors of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. They alternate on a semi-regular basis, and our prayer is that their insights from the Word of God may richly bless all those who stop by our neck of the woods!  Please feel free to reach out to us through their email if you have any questions, concerns, prayer requests, encouragements, etc.: t.westmoreland22@fruitland.edu [t.westmoreland22@fruitland.edu] c.martinez22@fruitland.edu [c.martinez22@fruitland.edu]

The Most Offensive Sin of the Church (Laodicea)

Revelation 3:14-22  Pastor Troy is back in our series on the church with a sermon out of Christ's message to the church of Laodicea. Jesus took offense for 4 of the other 6 churches, but Laodicea was the only church whose sin cause Him to want to vomit them out of His mouth. As New Testament believers and church members today, we ought to take an interest in this sin that our Lord was so vehemently opposed to. Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. God Has Provided A Foundation

Romans 8:31-39 Pastor Cory delves into one of the most famous passages from Paul in the New Testament. Paul asks a central question to the integrity of the gospel: what can separate us from the love of Christ? He clearly answers this in the passage---NOTHING! Cory takes us into the text and shows us exactly what that means for us in our Christian walk today. We can stand firm on the foundation of Jesus Christ, knowing that no matter comes our way that nothing can pluck us from the palm of His hand. Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. The Open-Door Policy (Philadelphia)

Revelation 3:7-13 Pastor Troy is back in our series on the churches of Revelation! This morning we dove into Jesus' message to the church of Philadelphia. While Jesus had nothing bad to say about this church really, that doesn't mean that He did not expect anything from them. Pastor Troy reminds us, it is not about how well we start, but about how well we finish. Jesus says that He has given the church a wide open door to share the gospel! Now the question is, will we walk through it??? Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season. For January and beyond, we will be focusing on the Vision of the church, praying that God will help us to reach the Shumont community and to grow as a church. The Battle Belongs to the Lord

Ephesians 6:10-20 Bother Will Dicus brought a powerful message on spiritual warfare and the armor of God. In a day where everyone tries to come up with a materialistic to explain everything, the Bible is clear. We face a real enemy in the spiritual realm, and if we are not prepared to fight we will be easily taken down. God gives us everything we need in order to withstand Satan's attacks and be steadfast and immoveable in our faith! Pastor Troy has been in a series series on Worship for a while, but says we will be taking an extended break as the Lord sees fit during the start of this new season.
