In the conclusion of 1 Timothy, Paul provides wealthy Christians with additional instructions in verses 6:17-19: they are to avoid haughtiness through their acknowledgement that their wealth is a gift from God and they are to generously share that gift as a unique type of ministry. Paul ends the letter in verses 20-21 with a reminder that we must guard the Gospel and faithfully pass it along to the next generation.June 7, 2026

1 Timothy 6:11-16 overviews five commands Paul gives Christians. We are to flee from the dangers of sin and to pursue what is godly instead through chasing after Christ. The Love of Money

Modern American culture is often driven by the desire for money, a concern also present in the actions of the false teachers in Paul’s time. 1 Timothy 6:6-10 reminds its readers of the importance of storing up heavenly treasures rather than material goods that cannot cross over into eternity. Instead of striving for all we do not have, Christians are to pursue the blessings of contentment in what God has already provided.May 24, 2026

False Teachers

We often discuss outside threats to the church, but Paul, particularly in 1 Timothy 6:2-5, emphasizes the need to look for false teachers who may infiltrate the congregation. These false teachers can be sniffed out by how they add or subtract from the words of Christ, their character, and their desire for personal gain. May 10, 2026
