Alexis Frueh was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 10. What began as angsty journal writing turned into severe depression, which thereafter triggered Alexis to nearly make the permanent decision to end her own life. Alcohol and sleeping pills saved Alexis's life that night incapacitating herself in order to not make the fatal decision. Listen to Alexis's perspective on depression, and her new perspective on life after speaking out about her feelings and seeking help. What modalities and resources did Alexis turn to that allowed her to win her battle against depression? Alexis's courage and strength is admirable, and she encourages anyone in a battle with depression to know that you are NOT alone.
