The Regenerative Way
Mpho Matlolane is a PhD candidate in Agriculture at the University of Mpumalanga whose work explores sustainable agriculture, systems thinking, and experiential approaches to learning.Recorded after spending time together in the Vhembe Biosphere Reserve, this conversation reflects on sustainability, food systems, culture, and what it means to learn from complex social-ecological systems through direct experience. This episode was produced in partnership with TRANSECTS, the Transdisciplinary Education Collaboration for Transformations in Sustainability, hosted by the University of Saskatchewan and supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. TRANSECTS is helping reimagine sustainability education on a global scale. I first met Mpho during the 2025 Transdisciplinary International Learning Lab (TILL), organized by TRANSECTS and held in South Africa's Garden Route Biosphere.
