The Saltwater Stories with Christine Kent
Attila Tota at 67 years old has surfed for over 5 decades of his life. 5 years ago he lost his right arm in a battle with cancer that he ultimately won, and he continues to surf as an adaptive surfer to this day. Finding hardships as a catalyst for gratitude in his life, he has found immense meaning in the ocean. Surfing is his means of healing, a way to connect with nature and the community of surfers and ocean lovers around him. Ultimately surfing has become his sanctuary. With a passion and love of surfing so strong, he notes how surfing has influenced every decision he has made in his life since he started all those years ago. Attila shares not only his saltwater stories but his mindset and outlook on what a rich and fulfilling saltwater life looks like. We touch on his greatest purpose in life at this time, empowering teenage boys to find their voices and achieve their dreams as they become men through the Boys to Men Mentoring Network in San Diego. We dive into positive masculinity and emotional intelligence and how the program helps create safe spaces for boys to have the sense of not feeling alone in various struggles and trials. https://boystomen.org/100-wave-challenge/ #thesaltwaterstories #saltwater #ocean #adaptive #adaptivesurfing #surfing #surf #boystomen #100wavechallenge #sanctuary #gratitude
