In this conversation we sit down with Shawn and Shira who are the directors of an exciting project in Arizona - Unity Through Salsa. They sit down and talk to use about how they have been using dance to help the local community. We get to hear interesting stories from their years of experience being in the social dancing community while also getting a lesson on the therapeutic effect of rhythm. Unity Salsa is a nonprofit organization that is fusing dance and community to make an impact in the community. They help people who struggle with substance abuse and homelessness. Their goal is to connect people through dance and all of the proceeds from the events go directly to their non-profit.
