The new ones selected are not even the pure basis for the strain the vaccine creates immunity for! That's because since they're not sure how well it will replicate in chicken embryos they combine it with another virus which they know replicates well in eggs. So the new strain in the vaccine is a mixed virus, NOT the one identified.
