When kings ruled without priestly reverence for God’s presence, corruption followed. Power without presence always produces idolatry. In this teaching we will identify places where we have created idolatry and altars of it with in many different areas of life like relationships, leaders, and church etc. Some of these characteristics and natures we may be able to detect with in our self and among leaders spiritually and in the world that we must be aware of. We will go through several Kings of old in 1 Kings and 2 Kings examining their behaviors and failures so we can look at ourselves, our world, family and etc to interceed and see a returning back to God.

I’m teaching from 1 Kings17-18:16–21, where Elijah confronts Israel for wavering between two opinions. The people of God had slowly forsaken their identity and devotion to the Lord, choosing comfort, pleasure, and culture over covenant. What started as compromise eventually turned into false worship and idolatry.This teaching will break down what happens when we abandon our identity in Christ and begin to build altars to things that cannot sustain us. We’ll talk about the danger of divided hearts, the deception of false worship, and how idolatry quietly takes the place that belongs to God alone.I’ll also share what I believe the Lord is revealing about where the Body of Christ is right now and where God is calling His people to return —back to consecration, back to the altar, and back to houses that belong fully to Him.
