The owners of Camp Mystic filed for bankruptcy in Houston early this morning as they claim debt in excess of $10-million, with assets in the hundreds of thousands of dollars… 27 girls from the camp were killed last year in the July 4th flooding, Austin police have been busy this month investigating several homicides, the most recent of which happened just yesterday in southeast Austin which is the fifth murder reported in Austin in less than two weeks, and Mendez says police are working as hard as they can to keep people safe, homelessness and mental health were topics of discussion this week at the Texas capitol after the house intergovernmental affairs committee held a hearing to discuss the challenges police officers face when dealing with homeless people with severe drug and mental health issues, and new polling on data centers in Texas is painting a clear picture as the polling, laid out in a legislative committee this week, found the vast majority Texans do not want a data center built in their community. Central Texas residents urging local leaders to take a tougher stance on proposed data centers got a response this week in Hays county, where commissioners approved what they called one of the strongest industrial high-water resolutions in Texas, Travis county district attorney Jose Garza has caught the attention of the lawmakers in the nation's capital as congressmen chip roy and Jim Jordan are among the lawmakers who are demanding that Garza's office hand over records related to interactions with federal immigration authorities, as well as records on the treatment of non-citizen defendants,  senator Cornyn says he will play hardball in his final six months in office if he has to as he told Semafor that he told senate republican leadership that in order for him to vote on a 70-billion dollar immigration spending bill, the White House must reimburse Texas for border security spending, and Texas attorney general Ken Paxton is sitting on a 2-percent lead over his democrat senate opponent, James Talarico. 49-percent of 800 likely Texas voters support Paxton for senate, 47-percent are behind Talarico.
