episode 44. Getting Cancer at 22 was a Blessing cover

Description

When I was 22, I was diagnosed with cancer. The scariest news I've ever received and the most life-changing experience I've ever gone through. In this episode, I share my story and how that diagnosis changed my life... for the better. It disrupted my understanding of certainty, control, health, beauty, and ultimately it reshaped how I think about resilience, risk, and living an authentic life. If you're going through a tough time, or you’ve been holding yourself back recently, this episode is for you. It's a reminder that life can change in an instant and "someday" isn't guaranteed.

45. Relationships DIE without Intimacy - Dr. Bruce Chalmer

So many couples want two things at once: safety and spark. But how do you hold both? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Bruce Chalmer, a couples therapist with over 30 years of experience and author of The Passion Paradox. We talk about why long-term love requires both intimacy and stability — and why tension between those needs is not a sign something is wrong. We also unpack what this looks like for millennial moms navigating the mental load, shifting expectations around gender, and the reality of partnership in this stage of life. If you’re building a relationship that you want to last in a deeply connected way, this conversation is for you. Solo Episode: Life, Motherhood, School and the Podcast

Jumping on this week to give a little update on life and the podcast for the next few months. There's been a lot going on and I've been processing so much newness in this stage of motherhood, specifically as it relates to pausing my career and the pressures of remaining "relevant" to the workplace. I share how I'm trying to remember that parenthood is the most demanding, important, real, and significant work of my life, more than any 9-5. I share how I'm trying to reframe my thinking when I get stuck worrying about success and my advice for moms who want to explore their own pursuits while off work in a way that feels meaningful and pressure-free. Reminder: if you started any other new job that was 7 days a week, on-call every evening, 12 hour days, and barely any breaks, it probably wouldn't be the time you put pressure on yourself to start a side-hustle too.
