This is the official VIC 4 VETS Honor Roll, highlighting our Honored Veterans during Veterans Appreciation Month. SUBMITTED BY:  Mike Ellington a.k.a. “AllinMan”  _____________________________________________________________ Good morning, Vic and Ken. Today I would like to present my older brother, Harry P. Ellington, as our Vic 4 Vets Honoree. He was a member of the US Air Force. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant E-5. His job was an AP that’s Military for COP. He was married and had three children. Since he was my older brother, he taught me how to Play Baseball, along with our Father, Who Had the same first name. His service time was from 1963 to 1967. I remember he told me the reason he joined the Air force, it was because JFK ask “what can you do for your county”  Our immediate family cover all the services My Father WW2 Army Purple Heart, He “Boots” what we call Harry, Air Force, My younger Brother Ken The Marine Corp, and myself the Navy.  He loved his God, his family, and his country. (He is with our God now) His favorite little ditty was the recruitment song they sang, “They took the blue from the skies. And a pretty girl's eyes. And a touch of Old Glory's hue, And gave it to the men/women who proudly wear. The U. S. Air Force Blue” Happy 250th Birthday, America, and to all my active firefighters, Stay Dry! 9:05 – 9:22 (17mins)   David Stokes, Director of Municipal Policy at the Show-Me Institute, @DavidCStokes @ShowMeShowMeInstitute.org to discuss:  1. Route for bus rapid transit line gets key approval: You guys have discussed this story a lot with David in the past. [https://www.google.com/url?q=https://showmeinstitute.org/article/transportation/green-means-stop/&sa=D&source=calendar&ust=1782883525252122&usg=AOvVaw04w7BNK4dE2uc97vEEiMjm] The city's first dedicated bus lanes are a step closer to reality with a key endorsement on Wednesday. The board of the East-West Gateway Council of Governments unanimously approved the 11.5-mile route. That allows the city and the Bi-State Development Agency — which runs Metro Transit — to continue planning and begin engineering for the so-called bus rapid transit line. The route, called the Green Line, would link south St. Louis via Jefferson Avenue to downtown, then take Tucker Boulevard and North Florissant Avenue to the north side. Whether the line will ever be built will depend on winning federal grants needed to pay for the bulk of the cost, estimated at $360 million to $590 million. What if you eliminated personal property taxes and nobody noticed? [https://www.google.com/url?q=https://showmeinstitute.org/article/economy/what-if-you-eliminated-personal-property-taxes-and-nobody-noticed/&sa=D&source=calendar&ust=1782883525252122&usg=AOvVaw3v2V0XzqpNtnq9NNLqQl32]There's been a lot of talk about eliminating personal property taxes, but the reality is that doing so would likely be revenue-neutral. Local governments could raise real property taxes to offset the loss, and even if a county acted unilaterally, it controls only about 5% of a typical tax bill, making the savings minimal without school district participation.     9:25 – 9:37 (12mins) Larry Conners   Weekly: "Mr. Conner's Neighborhood  @LarryConnersUSA   See omnystudio.com/listener [https://omnystudio.com/listener] for privacy information.
