Renting, Reflecting, and Eldest Daughter Syndrome

We have major milestones to talk about this week! First up: I officially moved into my own studio apartment. I’m out here picking out bath mats and feeling like an absolute mogul homeowner… until the rent check clears and reminds me I’m definitely still a tenant. But why do I have this intense, compulsive need to have my entire life together at all times? To answer that, we have to dig into the psychological phenomenon that is Eldest Daughter Syndrome. As the oldest daughter and the oldest granddaughter on both sides, I was basically born to manage logistics and overthink everything. Join me as I unpack why I am the way I am, the pressure of being the family trailblazer, and how I'm learning to romanticize my new space.
