Volkswagen Dieselgate wasn’t just an emissions scandal, it was deception on a global scale. In 2015, Volkswagen admitted to installing defeat devices in millions of diesel vehicles worldwide, manipulating emissions tests while marketing these cars as clean, efficient, and environmentally responsible. Over 11 million vehicles globally were affected, leading to more than $30 billion in fines, settlements, and buybacks.
