episode Season 4 Episode 2 Sharing Really Is Caring cover

Description

We all live differently, so can you imagine learning what is normal to you ACTUALLY isn't normal to someone else!? There is no quicker way to learn this than to live with someone else.  One might have grown up in a noisy household and the other jumps at loud noises.  We often live with different people throughout our lives, whether it be when we are growing up, first moving out of home and having 'flat mates' right though to when we have a life partner and then have kids or others move in to make the household big.  Thank you for joining me for another episode xoxo Ruth

Season 4 Episode 1 - Domestic Servitude or Partnership

In many homes, one person runs everything and the other sits back and reaps the rewards.  This episode is not about gender BUT STATISTICALLY it is the Male that is not meeting their share.  If this is not your household, then great, but what if it is? Is it fair for the female to be doing more than half the role of home (including cleaning, cooking, paying bills, getting extensions, going to shops, chemist, doctors appointments, booking all appointments, taking kids to sport, paying for these, cancelling when they are sick, taking time off work to tend to sickness in the house, booking leave ahead for appointments etc. etc. ) and then be expected to also work full time? and maybe then also sharing the cost fifty fifty? As an adult, who doesn't simply want a second mum, needs to step up and take HALF the role of looking after home.  Gender should not be an excuse for servitude.  Free domestic labour.  Because it's a second FULL TIME ROLE and true partnership is exactly that.  Partnership.  I am one of the lucky ones.  But saying that alone is sad. Lucky ones? So many of my friends do not have that 'fortune' with their partners and then the partners say they were blind sighted when they finally leave.  Partnership.  What do you think that means exactly.  What can change for the better now, so it doesn't change for the worse later and you 'never saw it coming'.

Season 3 Episode7 - The Direction Of Divorce

No one starts a family with the expectation it will end in Divorce. Even if not married but you have a family together, separation hits home hard, even when the split is amicable.  Todays episode we have guest speaker Billie who works for a Law Firm discuss what to consider to keep the change moving in a successful direction.  If your heading towards the big D word, what can you do now to prepare, and what should you do even when your both in agreement of the next direction for the family.  A big shout out to Billie for sharing her knowledge base in an effort to keep the process flowing successfully.  **Note: No content on this Podcast is Legal Advice.  It is recommended you seek your own advice for your circumstances at all times** xoxo Ruth
