Description

Wassup! I'm back with another episode, and this week I talk about living in South Africa and how it is sometimes necessary to put some distance between oneself and the surrounding political climate, where possible. I also speak about the double consciousness a lot of us often find ourselves in where we struggle to deal with our appreciation and nostalgic love for an artist when confronted with unsettling knowledge about their personal conduct. Enjoy!

BONUS! True Crime Episode: The legacy of a Serial Killer - Moses Sithole

Moses Sithole is a South African serial killer and rapist who committed the ABC Murders. It is believed that he is so named because they began in Atteridgeville [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atteridgeville], continued in Boksburg [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boksburg,_Gauteng] and finished in Cleveland [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland,_Gauteng], a suburb [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suburb] of Johannesburg [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannesburg]. Sithole murdered at least 37 women and one toddler between 16 July 1994 and 6 November 1995. Sithole was sentenced to 2,410 years imprisonment and is currently incarcerated in Mangaung Correctional Centre [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mangaung_Prison] in Bloemfontein [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloemfontein].
