Nolan Wells' Boat Crew Told Investigators THIS

Nolan Wells was supposed to come home from Horn Island after the Fourth of July. His friends left. He stayed. Two days later, a park ranger found him in the water — and the story the group told investigators started falling apart almost immediately. Multiple friends from the boat trip have given conflicting accounts of what happened on the island. The family says Nolan's Snapchat data was erased after his death. The FBI is conducting forensic analysis on his phone, and death threats tied to the case are under separate investigation. Attorney Ben Crump retained by the family says the case will go to a grand jury. Jennifer Coffindaffer, retired FBI Special Agent, joins Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke to examine the investigation's biggest vulnerability: the people closest to Nolan Wells cannot agree on what happened. Coffindaffer assesses whether the Snapchat allegation holds investigative weight, what the FBI's role actually is when jurisdiction belongs to the local sheriff despite the island being federal land, and why the public's rush to assign motive — racial or otherwise — may be obscuring what the evidence actually shows. Kohberger: What The Internet Got Wrong First

Two conspiracy theories have trailed the University of Idaho murders since before Bryan Kohberger was ever arrested, and Tony Brueski tackles both in this combined look at the case for True Crime Today.  The first theory ruined an innocent man's life before Kohberger was ever named a suspect in this case. The internet decided a grieving young man who'd just lost the woman he loved was responsible, largely because he called her phone repeatedly that morning, something with a completely innocent explanation once you know the full timeline. We break down why the roommates waiting hours to call 911 isn't the smoking gun people think, what their private writings do and don't show, the theory that they were spared for being involved, and why a judge called the internet's alternate suspects rank speculation.  The second theory says Kohberger's DNA was planted on the knife sheath left behind at the scene. The lab that tested it says the amount recovered wasn't a faint trace, it was hundreds of times more genetic material than investigators typically find in a case like this one. We go through the unidentified blood inside the house, the mismatched DNA under a victim's fingernails, the hair people insist was staged, the claim that genetic genealogy was concealed from the court, and the Amazon order for that same knife.  No clean motive isn't proof of innocence, and a guilty plea stacked on top of DNA, phone records, car evidence, and scanner data isn't how wrongful conviction cases usually look. D4VD's Welfare Check For Celeste Ended In WHAT?

Every red flag in the Celeste Rivas Hernandez case got logged by somebody, and not one of them connected the dots in time. Tony Brueski breaks down the full D4vd case for True Crime Today, starting with a welfare check that should have ended very differently.  Celeste was reported missing from Lake Elsinore three times in early 2024. That led Riverside County deputies to musician David Burke's phone number, and LA County deputies to his West Hollywood front door. Burke showed them a yearbook photo and claimed he'd met her only once. Deputies told him plainly that she was thirteen and a runaway, then left without further action.  Prosecutors allege what came next was deliberate. Burke is accused of paying one of Celeste's junior high classmates a thousand dollars to hand her a new phone so contact could continue uninterrupted. Over the following year, prosecutors say she traveled with him to Las Vegas, London, and Texas, met his family, got matching tattoos, and had his name on her ring finger, all while still in seventh grade.  The case takes an even stranger turn when you look at Burke's own music. His breakout single, the album it's from, and the alter ego he built around both all echo the allegations prosecutors are now making about a Hollywood Hills home. Seven months passed between investigators finding Celeste's remains and Burke's arrest, a stretch that included three grand jury panels, a friend fleeing to Montana to avoid a subpoena, and Burke's family fighting the grand jury in a Texas courtroom.  He now faces first-degree murder with special circumstances, including lying in wait, murder for financial gain, and murder of a witness. What Elizabeth Siders Did After Marrying At 15

Elizabeth Siders was fifteen when she married into the family now at the center of one of Ohio's most disturbing cases, and she's the one who gave birth to all sixteen children found inside that house. Tony Brueski, Robin, and defense attorney Eric Faddis break down why her own attorney is arguing she may be as much a casualty of this family as anyone.  Faddis, a former prosecutor, lays out what that argument does to the sixteen felony counts she's facing and whether the law even has room for a defendant who might also be someone this system failed for eighteen years. It's a legal question with no clean answer, and it's about to shape everything that happens next in this case.  The rest of the case isn't any cleaner. A Vinton County judge has silenced the Attorney General's office, the sheriff, and the prosecutor with a gag order requested by the man whose indecent exposure warrant is the reason deputies found those sixteen children at all. Five years before that, Gallia County Juvenile Court filed six truancy complaints on this family, documented that six children had missed a full year of school, and then closed every case when nobody could locate them. No one escalated it. No one called children's services.  Gary Siders Senior, seventy-three, faces sixteen felony counts himself and walked free on a recognizance bond after his attorney filed five competency motions.
