President Joe Biden gave one of his first major media appearances since taking office to CNN, and it was a disaster to say the least. He managed to suggest that minorities don’t know how to use the internet, that China’s oppression of Uighurs is the result of different “cultural norms” and that there was no COVID vaccine before he took office. Meanwhile, CNN also announced that host Chris Cuomo would no longer be able to interview his brother, Democratic New York Gov. It’s been a banner week for all of the scummiest people in the news. Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been busted for covering up the number of nursing home deaths due to COVID-19 in his state, the Biden press shop had its first major personnel scandal, and the Lincoln Project is imploding over sexual abuse allegations against one of its founding members. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez keeps digging herself into a deeper hole over her claims that she nearly died during the storming of the Capitol Building on January 6. Her claims first started getting pushback after she accused Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of nearly having her killed because he objected to the certification of Arizona’s electoral college votes. In an Instagram live stream, Ocasio-Cortez revealed that she is a survivor of sexual assault and that people criticizing her reaction to the riots are being abusive and contributing to her trauma. Reddit users on the subreddit “Wall Street Bets” joined forces on the stock market last week to stick it to hedge funds who bet against brick and mortar stores like GameStop and Bed Bath & Beyond, making themselves tons of money in the process.
