episode INTERVIEW WITH MASTERS IN SOCIAL WORK CANDIDATE: BREAKING GENERATIONAL CURSES cover

Description

On this episode, we explore how Desiree Hairston's past and upbringing brought her to the career path she is in now, social work. From being raised by a single mom, to having an absent father, Desiree made sure she broke the cycle and did not fall into society's negative statistics that she would not make out to be anything if she did not come from a two parent household. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Major in Social Work and Minors in Childhood Studies and Psychology. She then volunteered with AmeriCorp, sat in a couple of panels, and is now getting her Masters in Social Work (MSW) at Regis College. She learns that you can make 6 figures as a social worker! Desiree describes the healing and revelation she experienced when confronting her past and understanding how having an absent father was although difficult, it was a blessing in disguise. Let this be a blueprint, a guide for those who are trying to get into social work and find success in any field, especially as a person of color. Contact us if you need any advice! INTERVIEW WITH PhD CANDIDATE/ MINDSET FITNESS COACH: FROM HAVING A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE TO UNLOCKING THE KEYS TO OUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND TO PROPEL US TOWARDS OUR PURPOSE

On this episode, Geoff Green II takes us on a ride on how the mind works and its tools to help us find our identity outside the influences of the outside world. He takes back to a near life-death experience and how that key moment in life was needed to enhance him forward towards finding his purpose. He expresses how the keys to unlocking our untouched potential, our purpose in life, lies behind embracing our subconscious mind. Geoff is currently a Brain Sciences PhD candidate at The Ohio State University, Mindset Fitness Coach (Shift LLC), Motivational Speaker, Club Football Coach, Pro Athlete (played for Frankfurt Pirates: German Football League 2), and Fitness Model. He specializes in providing people with the tools needed to redefine their mind so they can create the space necessary for the important positive shifts that make every day better than the last. Let Geoff's story be a blueprint, a guide for those who are trying to find purpose and meaning in life, especially as a person of color. Contact us if you need any advice!
