Description

In this episode, titled "Fantastic Fun Filled Friday Adventure," We have an exciting adventure while doin errands. Initial stop, For You Brewing, CO2 tank refill and included plans to discuss bread dough making and medicinal herbs.  After a mediocre lunch in Terre Haute, the highlight of the trip was Age of Aquarius in downtown Brazil, which Wee Wild Woman declared her "new favorite store" after purchasing books, oracle cards, crystals, and stones. Throughout our travels, we provide updates on the farm, noting the recovery of the new calf Porter from joint ill, the success of the new FI3 2025 GPS tracking collar in quickly locating Athena during a "jail break". I share significant personal news, detailing how quitting heavy drinking in March, adopting intermittent fasting, and joining Anytime Fitness led to a 60-pound weight loss and a new, more positive mindset he calls "synchronicity". We also teased a large, upcoming "legacy project" ("The Texas Project"). Then something different, an analogy comparing men's emotions to an 8-color box of crayons versus women's 164-color box. We concluded our adventure late, heading back home to Greencastle to prepare for chores and face "The Boss Lady" and address our spending.  https://foryoubrewingsupplies.com/  Age of Aquarius [https://www.facebook.com/p/Age-of-Aquarius-100057233028715/]

The Wee Wild Woman and the Fat Man Farmer Podcast, featuring their first interview with Samantha Henman, the Market Master for the Cloverdale Farmers Market and owner of Raccoon Creek Homestead. We discuss operations and regulations of the farmers market, discussing practical topics We discuss bureaucratic challenges and perceived absurdity of food safety laws for small farms in Indiana, such as the requirements for selling eggs and the extensive, often confusing, home-based vendor rules. The hosts and Samantha also explore the market's community focus, its token program for children to encourage healthy choices, and the value of direct communication and knowing your farmer. episode Episode 04 Animals on our homestead artwork

Episode 04 Animals on our homestead

Longer episode as Wee and I discuss all the animals we have on our homestead, how we would rate them for new homesteaders, some things to look out for, some lessons learned. We cover horses, cows dairy and beef, alpaca, wool sheep, goats dairy and meat, rabbits, chickens, geese, guineas, pigs, turkeys, ducks, fish, bees, dogs, cats and even black soldier flies. We touch on some extra ways you can make money with the animals, permaculture uses for animals, ease of care. We plan on going into each species in more detail with a separate episode for each. We think the improvements on audio helped. We lost one of the microphones on the third segment but we managed to salvage. Originally we wanted this as a Zoom meeting and show pictures, video, and links as we are talking about the animals. But, an unexpected cancelation on interviews, and required road trip said use the time we have.
