Description

Thomas "FAT Thomi" Hairston is a veteran of the entertainment industry who progressed through the Hip-Hop institution as a protégé, Director, Vice-President, and now President under the tutelage of pioneers such as Rick Rubin and A.D. Washington. This native Virginian's work with producer Rick Rubin at American Records (Run DMC, The Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers), his time as an urban music manager at Warner Brothers, and his work with Clive Davis, Puff Daddy, and others brought him into contact with some of the country's most notable artists, allowing him to oversee their creative development, upcoming projects, and promotional tours. But it was at Arista Records that FAT Thomi rose to the position of National Director of Hip-Hop Promotions, where he was largely responsible for the success of today's favorite artists. In our first episode, he sits down with us to discuss his time at Arista and Warner Bros. Records, his view on the Illuminati, and how record labels work.
