Beskrivelse

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2451754/fan_mail/new] We’re easing out of Christmas and into the New Year with a very Frome-flavoured January episode. We go behind the scenes at Frome Symphony Orchestra’s magical performance of The Snowman, take baby Ren to meet Father Christmas, dance around town at Mrs Christmas’s Silent Disco, and catch up backstage at the Merlin Theatre for festive favourite, Crimes Against Christmas. Sonia chats to local girl band Planet Janet about making a joyful comeback and Daisy interviews this month's local legend, litter-picking hero Tracey Eames. We also speak to several mumtrepreneurs about how they've been cashing in on Christmas to help pay the bills through the festive season, and hear from James at Edventure about a new course aimed at turning business ideas into reality. We explore the need for donations to Fair Frome and the Community Fridge this winter, and as we all make our New Year's resolutions, Becky rounds things off with a gentle New Year, New You moment focusing on movement and motivation. She also delivers her Fabulous Frome guide to what's on in town this month. This festive bumper show is a celebration of creativity, community and new beginnings. With a bit of new gear thrown in for good measure.

June 2026 - Running Up That Hill

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2451754/fan_mail/new] What do a giant travelling coat, a silent disco in Victoria Park and a crowd full of Kate Bush lookalikes have in common? Apparently, Frome. This month, Sonia throws herself into ecstatic dancing for her monthly challenge, Daisy meets local legend Ginny Parratt from Cats in Distress, and catches up with the remarkable Coat of Hopes on its journey through town. We also discover the joys of fancy dress to de-stress at Bath Theatrical and join dozens of women (and a few men) dressed in grey and sporting black wigs for the wonderfully surreal Kate Bush flashmob. Plus, Becky returns with the Fabulous Frome Forecast - her bumper guide to what's happening in and around town this June. From wigs to wellbeing, cats to Catherine Hill, it's another packed month on When in Frome.

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2451754/fan_mail/new] Come what May…Frome is connecting. This month on When in Frome, we’re celebrating the people, projects and ideas bringing the town together. From Frome Connects, a month-long programme of community events, to Fromebase, a new initiative giving building materials a second life. Sonia meets a group that supports people living with dementia through nature, and takes on this month’s challenge…a barre class, with surprising success. Daisy meets our Local Legend, Caroline Blake, whose work at the Victoria Park Café creates a welcoming space where people can connect every day, and Becky brings you the Fabulous Frome Forecast, her definitive guide to everything to see and do this month. Proof that in Frome, connection is never more than a cup of tea, a good idea...or a Kate Bush flashmob away!

April 2026 - Glow Big or Go Frome

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2451754/fan_mail/new] This month on When in Frome, we’re embracing the light…and what happens after dark. Daisy heads to Packsaddle Fields, where frustration is growing after access to the green space was blocked. She speaks to campaigners and local councillors about what the future might hold. She also joins Frome and East Somerset MP Anna Sabine on a rural safety walk in Beckington, highlighting the issue of violence against women and girls after dark and what can be done to help people feel safer. Sonia’s been set a very seasonal challenge, cooking wild garlic scones - with a little help from local author Eleanor Hayes. She also checks out The Moors, a dark comedy by Jen Silverman, exploring desire, desperation and life on the bleak English moors. We’re at the opening of the Kindness Festival, meeting the team behind a powerful community quilt remembering loved ones, and Daisy explores the magic of Window Wonderland, as Frome quite literally glows in the dark. Our Local Legend this month is Tori Allison, the force behind Window Wonderland and Chair of the Cheese and Grain. And as always, Becky rounds things off with her Fabulous Frome Forecast for April.
