Description

Episode 82: Aloha Friday: Ānuenue – The Science of Rainbows 🌈   After a week filled with rainbows, and capturing one of the most spectacular rainbow moments I've ever seen, I found myself wondering and wanting to learn more: what exactly is the science behind rainbows? 🧪✨   In this Aloha Friday episode, we explore the science behind one of nature's most beautiful displays 🌈 We'll talk about how sunlight and water droplets work together to create rainbows, why they appear as arches in the sky, how double rainbows form, and why Hawaiʻi seems to have so many of them  💧🌈🌴🩵   We'll also dive into one of my favorite discoveries as a photographer: no two people see the exact same rainbow 📸 The rainbow you see depends on where you're standing, which means every rainbow view is uniquely yours 🤍   It's also why you can never reach the end of a rainbow or find the pot of gold 💛 the rainbow moves with you 😄   Join me for a colorful conversation about light, perspective, wonder, and the beauty that appears when sunshine and rain meet in just the right way 🤍🩵🩷   Happy Aloha Friday, everyone! 🌈✨   #alohafriday #podcast #anuenue #rainbow #hawaii

episode Episode 90: How Persistence & Patience Can Pay Off 🤍💫 artwork

Episode 90: How Persistence & Patience Can Pay Off 🤍💫

Today I want to talk about a concept I've been thinking about through my volcano chasing experiences 🌋 It's a lesson that applies to every area of life: Success rewards the persistent and the patient.   Very rarely does success come right away. More often, it comes through repetition, learning, refining, and eventually getting it right ✨   In this episode, I share a story from my high school field hockey days 🏑 where I first learned this lesson 🤍 It's something I've carried with me ever since. As a left-handed athlete learning with right-handed equipment, it took countless attempts to learn how to properly hit the ball. Then one day... everything just clicked ✨ From that moment on, success became much more consistent because the fundamentals had finally fallen into place.   It's a fun story too, btw! I was actually being coached by an Olympian who decided to take me under her wing - and she had me practice the same hit over... and over... and over again. Looking back, I don't think I would have understood the true value of persistence without her and that experience. Nor would I have been out in a field for so long just hitting the ball.   I also relate this concept to volcano chasing 🌋 You can't force an eruption, you simply keep putting yourself in the right position. Every trip teaches you something, and every attempt increases your chances of being there when the magic happens ✨   Join me for a fun story from my past that serves as a reminder to be patient ⏳, keep refining your craft 🎯, and trust that your persistence will pay off. Sometimes, success is simply reserved for those who are willing to keep showing up 🤍

Episode 88: Learning How to Trust Yourself 🤍 Only You Know What’s Truly Best for You ✨

How do you know what the "right" decision is?   Well, here's the beautiful thing—the answer is often much simpler than we think 🩵It already exists within you 🩵   In this episode, I dive into a topic that often holds many of us back: trusting ourselves to make the choice that's right for us 🤍   The truth is, no one knows what will feel the most aligned or bring you the greatest sense of fulfillment better than you.   I share how I learned this through my creative pursuits like animation, art, and writing. As a creator, there isn't a blueprint for finding your unique style or voice🎙️ You gather inspiration, learn from others, experiment, and ultimately trust yourself to make the creative choices that feel right. No one else can tell you exactly how to create your art 🎨 📸 📚   Life is no different. No one can tell you exactly how to build the life that will be the most meaningful or fulfilling for you. Others can offer wisdom, perspectives, and inspiration, but when it comes to the biggest decisions, you have to trust your own heart, your own intuition, and your own path.   Your life is your greatest creative project. Listen to others, remain curious, and gather wisdom 💡 But never forget to listen to yourself.   Because no one knows what's truly best for your life more than you do 🫶🏼🤍   #lifecoach #lifecoachingpodcast #selfdevelopment #growth #happiness

Episode 87: Do It for the Love of It, and Success Will Naturally Follow 🫶🏼🩵🤍

n this episode, I reflect on a lesson that has shaped so much of my own journey and personal endeavors ✨   I've found that when we create from a genuine love for what we're doing—rather than chasing recognition, approval, or success—we often produce our best work 🌟 Ironically, operating from that authentic place is what so often leads to opportunities and success in the first place 🤍   I've experienced the opposite in my own journey as well. There have been seasons in my life when I pursued things simply because I thought I should do them. While they may have looked like the "right" path on paper, they rarely flowed naturally, and I wasn't nearly as fulfilled or successful.   Through sharing a bit from my photography 📸, writing my books 📚, and following the things that genuinely light me up 🤍 I explore why I believe the things we're most passionate about often become the things we're best at—not because we're forcing them, but because we're simply inspired to keep showing up   I hope this episode encourages you to spend more time doing what you truly love. Do it for you, do it because you love it, and let everything else become a bonus 🏆   Mahalo for listening and tuning in! 🎧🤍 And thank you all for the kind messages about the show so far, I love each one I read 🤗 As a reminder, you can also leave it as a review on Apple Podcasts if you’d like 🫶🏼

Episode 86: More Than a Game – How the World Cup is Spreading the Spirit of Aloha 🌎⚽️🏆

Today's episode was inspired by the World Cup ⚽️ Because something really beautiful is happening this month in the US 🫶🏼🇺🇸✨   As I've been watching people from all over the world come together, finding joy in the little things America has to offer, I realized...this is exactly the spirit of aloha 🌺   There are countless videos online of visitors experiences at some of our favorite places…from local BBQ spots to Buc-ee's, national parks, and hidden gems 💎 The joy on people's faces as they experience these places for the first time is contagious ☺️ They remind us to appreciate the little things we may take for granted that we have available to us in our day-to-day lives 🩵   In this episode, I reflect on the spirit of togetherness we're witnessing and the moments of aloha that have emerged along the way. It also reminds me of Kīlauea, where people from every corner of the world gather to experience something extraordinary together 🌋 While they may come for an event itself, it's often the shared experience and the people they meet that stays with them 🤍   Every smile, conversation, act of kindness, or warm welcome has the potential to become part of someone's lifelong memory of visiting America. And if people leave feeling welcomed, inspired, and connected, there's a good chance they'll carry that feeling home and pass it on to others ✨   Tune in for a heartwarming episode about connection, togetherness, and a reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things we have around us every day 💛   #worldcup #usa #togetherness #worldcup2026 #podcast
