Women of a Certain Age
---------------------------------------- Episode 3: Faith, Strength, and the Mental Health We Don't Talk About. In this episode of Women of a Certain Age, we’re talking about something that was once whispered about,or not talked about at all, especially in the Black community and in the church: mental health. Black women are often praised for being “strong,” but we’re asking the real question… is strength always a blessing, or has it become a burden? Who checks on us when we’re the ones holding everyone else together, and what happens when we don’t check on ourselves? With honesty, humor, and heart, we unpack the myth of the “Strong Black Woman,” the pressure to keep pushing through pain, and why caring for our mental health is not a lack of faith, it’s wisdom. Through our signature segments, Women of a Certain Age: Working It, we get real about doing the inner work, and Women of the Bible, we look at biblical women who carried heavy loads yet were still seen, supported, and strengthened by God. This episode is for the woman who’s tired of being strong in silence. Come sit with us you’re safe here. ----------------------------------------
