DO NOT SWIM in the Lake of Monroe, authorities warn

The water may be a crystal clear blue, but do not swim in the Lake of Monroe. The once abandoned French Stone Quarry, the land was purchased by a private citizen, who later sold off different parcels. But the area remains private property, and is off-limits for visitors.
