Bagom 'Hvor er mit ansigt?'

What is 'Where is my face?'

It is an auditory community where we share stories that felt like tragedies when they happened, but which we have learned to laugh at over time. Then we laugh together and pick up each other's faces.

Tragedy plus time turns into comedy. The good old, somewhat worn saying.

Things that really happened are the funniest – and if you can gather the embarrassing stories and laugh with them, then I think it can be really, really good.

So that is my hope.

What do you get out of listening to your podcast?

You should find peace in the fact that humans are not perfect and all the embarrassments you have experienced can easily be shared and experienced as a kind of shrug. The embarrassing and awkward experiences are the rivets in the armor that rusts us as humans.

Why are you making it?

I make it in the hope that we should be better at laughing at ourselves. Self-irony is very important to me personally – and it is also in my circle of friends.  we are so hard on ourselves, and now we've just begun to share real pictures of ourselves – so let's take it a step further – and share the embarrassing stories as well.

Where is your face?

It is right here. The podcast is called “Where is my face” because it's taken from another slightly worn saying about losing face. You can only pick up your face if you own the embarrassment that happened where you lost face.

After listening to your podcast, what do you listen to?

There are really many podcasts I like to listen to. I love storytelling when people are good at telling stories. Some of the best within that, which is in a completely different genre, are – The Moth – it's a very American tradition where they are good at writing stories and telling them – and it is somewhat my hope to do it in Danish. One of my newer favorites is 'Om søndagen græder vi', which also shares personal stories that are easy to mirror yourself in.
