BONUS: of That Darn Cast - Treasure Island!

Hey, JJ Bach Show Fans! Jeff here. Wanted to share with you the pilot for a new show I'm working on in between Bachelor seasons with my wife McKenna - she's the one whose band provided our theme music for the show. We're going on a live action Disney adventure, combing through the back catalog of Disney's live action feature films, with the help of our local library. In the premiere, we start at the beginning with 1950's Treasure Island, but we plan on skipping around the decades and exploring all the weird and occasionally junky corners of what Disney had to offer when they weren't making cartoons. Hope you enjoy! And Jeff and Joe will see you again in January for ... ugh, Colton? We might have to meet sooner and discuss this turn of events.

Everything and Nothing At Once

I was super proud of that sage wisdom that closes out our first season and gives our finale episode its name, until I realized that it's a transposed Superchunk lyric I had kicking around in my brain. Oh well, I bet Garrett stole that whole eagles thing from somewhere too. Ah, the inevitable conclusion! Jeff and Joe try to rationalize and not judge Becca's final choice, but probably do anyway. The general weirdness of this biannual love triangle ritual is picked apart a little, the Instagram Likes Scandal (tm) is discussed for hopefully the final time ever, we throw down on a professional rivalry with our colleagues in Bachelor recapping (who happen to be former show contestants, but who's counting?), and wonder if we can ever really make this show be about more than it repeatedly tries to tell us it's all about. We Need To Talk About Colton

We give equal time to all four hometown dates, until we have to reckon with the not one but two incredibly awkward codas given to Colton's run on this show. Are these some of the most blatantly staged moments in the show's history? In the case of the latter, how badly do we want to believe that Chris Harrison was caught off guard in giving some sex ed fundamentals? But it's not all Colton all the time! We've got meditations on the nebulous definition of "values", the baby steps this show is willing to take away from the heteronormative bubble, and how weird it gets whenever this show finds itself having to address anything of substance. Also, absolutely nothing changes in where these dudes all stand with Becca! Our music, as always, is "Dummy", a castoff from the great 2000s beach town indie rock band Ponchos From Peru.

Turning into a BoJack Horseman Podcast

We're back after a holiday break to cover the epic journey from 9 guys down to 4. And by epic, I mean mostly predictable. We talk about the lack of surprises, how the show could still surprise us both this season and next, and handicap the rest of the season. Also, apparently BoJack Horseman is the one show we've both watched besides this one, so we come back to that a lot - hope you've seen it too, or the last ten minutes of this one might get confusing? I blame the initial mention of Mr. Peanutbutter's favorite band for setting it all off.
