WANTS VS NEEDS: CORRUPTION OF AESTHETIC, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND SAFETY NEEDS! - INTRODUCTION Welcome back to the 30th episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure! Today’s episode titled “Wants vs Needs: Corruption of Aesthetic, Physiological and Safety Needs!” will tell you about corruption in industrial complex, big pharma & insurance, military-industrial complex and politics-business nexus. The first casualty, as was the case with our biology, was the sociocultural root chakra. As it stands today, closed sociocultural chakras have blocked the human energy right at the lowest level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, namely physiological and safety needs. SKELETAL LEAP, the mind body connection for mind and body healing, is a giant leap that our skeleton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton] can take through the way it postures its joints. I had stumbled upon this miracle many years ago, coincidentally WANTS VS NEEDS: CORRUPTION OF AESTHETIC, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND SAFETY NEEDS! - SHOW NOTES In this enlightening episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure, titled “Wants vs Needs: Corruption of Aesthetic, Physiological and Safety Needs!”, I explore the intricate relationships between socio-cultural institutions and the pervasive corruption that has taken root within them. Join me as I guide you through a thought experiment inspired by Dr. Albert Einstein, challenging listeners to reflect on the distinctions between needs and wants.  Discover how societal wants have increasingly overshadowed genuine needs, leading to a fragmented understanding of our physiological and safety requirements. This episode explores the historical evolution of socio-cultural structures, tracing the origins of corruption from the industrial complex to the military-industrial nexus and the intertwining of politics and business.  Learn how the quest for personal ownership and wealth has distorted our priorities, transforming essential needs into mere commodities. As I discuss the implications of this corruption on our health and well-being, I emphasize the importance of returning to a state of balance and understanding.  I posit that a collective emptying of the mind is necessary to restore genuine health and foster spontaneous decision-making aligned with our true needs. This thought-provoking episode invites you to consider how the socio-cultural root chakra has been compromised and what steps can be taken to reclaim our health and humanity. Can we learn to prioritize genuine needs over corrupted wants?  WANTS VS NEEDS: CORRUPTION OF AESTHETIC, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND SAFETY NEEDS! - CHAPTERS Chapters: (00:00:01) - What is the Corruption in our Social Systems? My name is Laadi Ojas. Welcome to “Skeletal Leap: 0:00:26.160,0:00:33.920 A Living Adventure”. Skeletal Leap  transforms one’s life into a personal heaven. 0:00:33.920,0:00:41.120 Today’s episode will tell you about corruption  in industrial complex, big pharma & insurance, 0:00:41.120,0:00:47.120 military-industrial complex  and politics-business nexus. 0:00:47.120,0:00:55.120 The first casualty, as was the case with our  biology, was the sociocultural root chakra. 0:00:55.120,0:01:01.760 As it stands today, closed sociocultural  chakras have blocked the human energy right 0:01:01.760,0:01:10.160 at the lowest level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of  Needs, namely physiological and safety needs. 0:01:10.160,0:01:17.360 As explained above, the root of the problem lies  in faulty cognition of reality whereby societal 0:01:17.360,0:01:24.800 wants function as proxies for social needs. Personal ownership of resources became more 0:01:24.800,0:01:33.280 important than the physiological or aesthetic  needs it fulfilled. Thus, money, as a means to 0:01:33.280,0:01:38.960 personal ownership of resources, became a  currency for the exchange of the goods and 0:01:38.960,0:01:46.960 services that fulfilled these needs. Sociocultural  institutions belonging to the sociocultural root 0:01:46.960,0:01:54.560 chakra include the most sought after core of  society at present. Physiological needs comprise 0:01:54.560,0:02:01.600 the biological component of human survival  guaranteeing homeostasis to the human body. 0:02:02.320,0:02:08.320 These are provided by the social systems  such as industrial complexes for jobs and 0:02:08.320,0:02:13.760 financial complexes to enable and manage  transactions using ‘personal ownership’ 0:02:13.760,0:02:20.320 of resources as its main currency. However, this currency turned into a 0:02:20.320,0:02:25.360 source of widespread corruption. Pursuit of Genuine Physiological 0:02:25.360,0:02:34.800 Needs Instead of Its Corrupted Currency,  Personal Ownership of Resources (Money) 0:02:34.800,0:02:42.080 Let us do a thought experiment (one of the most  favorite tools of one Dr. Albert Einstein). Think 0:02:42.080,0:02:48.160 of yourself as an idealist for a moment. What if you tell me that I will get 0:02:48.160,0:02:55.520 whatever I need whenever I need  as much I need unconditionally? 0:02:55.520,0:03:02.480 Imagine what would my reaction be. If I am fearful, controlled by my mind, I 0:03:02.480,0:03:10.720 could easily turn greedy. I may say, “Just change  the word need with the word want and I am okay.” 0:03:11.440,0:03:18.640 Needs are physical phenomena whereas wants  are psychological in their basic etymology. 0:03:18.640,0:03:24.160 What decides what I need and  what decides what I want? 0:03:24.160,0:03:30.560 Aren’t these two entities the calls given  by the brain and the mind respectively? 0:03:30.560,0:03:35.600 Back to the thought experiment…had  I not been corrupted by my mind, 0:03:35.600,0:03:41.840 I would have been the happiest man on earth to  have been offered this proposal by you! I would 0:03:41.840,0:03:48.800 have immediately accepted your proposal  and asked you what I need to do for that. 0:03:48.800,0:03:55.600 However, let’s continue with the version  of me that IS being driven by fear. 0:03:55.600,0:04:02.080 You say, “Throw the yoke of all your possessions  off your shoulders and just be a free man.” 0:04:02.800,0:04:07.680 I may not believe you for a  moment and retort, “Why? Do 0:04:07.680,0:04:11.840 YOU want to take away all my possessions?” “I don’t need to…,” you smile. “I don’t 0:04:11.840,0:04:21.680 need to want,” you repeat. “Won’t you like ruling the world? Don’t you want 0:04:21.680,0:04:31.440 that?” I sound stupid to my own self as I ask. “Why would I?” you give a carefree look, 0:04:31.440,0:04:38.640 “Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown!” “But what would I do if I get what I need without 0:04:38.640,0:04:46.160 doing anything for getting it?” I am intrigued. “Decide it for yourself if you really feel like 0:04:46.160,0:04:54.240 doing something,” you are still smiling. “It would turn me crazy,” I retort. 0:04:54.240,0:05:00.160 “That you already are,” you show me  the mirror, “A slave to your mind!” 0:05:00.160,0:05:06.640 “By the same token, aren’t you a  slave to your brain too?” I challenge. 0:05:06.640,0:05:14.160 “My brain is my friend. Your mind is your boss. It  keeps you scared with a threat of starving in case 0:05:14.160,0:05:23.520 you don’t earn the right to live,” you sound cool. “And your brain?” I ask again. 0:05:23.520,0:05:30.720 “It doesn’t think of future. It lets me do  what I feel like doing right now,” you reveal. 0:05:30.720,0:05:38.400 “YOU do what you feel like doing. What  would I do, I don’t know,” I nervously say. 0:05:38.400,0:05:44.320 “Enable me to enable my guarantee that  I just gave you!” you start laughing. 0:05:44.320,0:05:48.720 I get taken aback for a moment.  Then I start laughing along. 0:05:50.160,0:05:55.200 That ends our thought experiment.  It tells us idealism is not as 0:05:55.200,0:06:01.840 impossible as it is presented to be. The entire question swings between two different 0:06:01.840,0:06:09.440 approaches to life, ‘to have’ or ‘to be’. Do we have a gene within us that would 0:06:09.440,0:06:15.840 answer this question? If it says the  fittest survives, doesn’t our thought 0:06:15.840,0:06:23.680 experiment hint toward that possibility even  when threatened by human-induced climate change? 0:06:23.680,0:06:28.400 Cavemen never felt they ever  required any private property. 0:06:28.400,0:06:33.520 If it were in our genes, we would  have started going along that track 0:06:33.520,0:06:40.480 right then and there. If we did it later,  something new must have conspired to do so. 0:06:41.440,0:06:48.720 I hypothesize, it was simply our mind  gone greedy, trying to save itself from 0:06:48.720,0:06:53.440 starving to death in future. We had evolved to grow our 0:06:53.440,0:06:58.160 own food on the fertile land. But we hadn’t evolved to own 0:06:58.160,0:07:05.360 the land primarily and go on expanding its  perimeter to the last days of our lives. 0:07:05.360,0:07:11.120 Doing so through putting the yoke of all its  stressful burdens on our shoulders took its 0:07:11.120,0:07:17.200 toll on our health. No other species  in the entire animal world ever does 0:07:17.200,0:07:25.840 that. And if we got a brain, did we get  it for wasting it on such petty concerns? 0:07:25.840,0:07:32.000 We certainly went wrong somewhere when we  shifted from hunting-gathering to agriculture 0:07:32.000,0:07:39.120 and personal ownership of resources. We  thought it would give us freedom but what 0:07:39.120,0:07:47.120 it gave us was slavery and disease alone. The  more personal resource ownership we amassed, 0:07:47.120,0:07:54.240 the more it impoverished us in other ways. Have we ever thought how much energy we waste 0:07:54.240,0:08:01.280 just in the petty pursuit of staying alive and  comfortable? In fact, to secure our comfortable 0:08:01.280,0:08:08.160 living in the future, we ‘want’ to amass resources  that are many times more than we would ever really 0:08:08.160,0:08:15.040 need. Doesn’t this amount to stealing from  others who could have used those resources 0:08:15.040,0:08:23.600 to live a comfortable life? But unluckily 80% of  the human wealth lies under the control of 20% 0:08:23.600,0:08:32.560 of the human population. The rest 80% live  a life of have nots. And majority of these 0:08:32.560,0:08:41.280 20% people has acquired the 80% of the human  wealth through unethical if not illegal means. 0:08:41.280,0:08:46.880 Here are two quotes of this Pareto’s  principle of 20-80 distribution… 0:08:46.880,0:08:52.800 Pareto’s observation was in connection with  population and wealth. Pareto noticed that 0:08:52.800,0:09:00.640 approximately 80% of Italy’s land was owned by 20%  of the population. He then carried out surveys on 0:09:00.640,0:09:08.240 a variety of other countries and found to his  surprise that a similar distribution applied. 0:09:08.240,0:09:12.240 Courtesy Wikipedia 2022 0:09:12.240,0:09:17.520 A chart that gave the effect a very visible  and comprehensible form, the so-called 0:09:17.520,0:09:24.640 “champagne glass” effect, was contained in the  1992 United Nations Development Program Report, 0:09:25.920,0:09:31.120 which showed that distribution  of global income is very uneven, 0:09:31.120,0:09:39.520 with the richest 20% of the world’s population  receiving 82.7% of the world’s income. 0:09:39.520,0:09:43.680 Courtesy Wikipedia 2022 0:09:43.680,0:09:49.120 If we don’t have sufficient ownership of  resources in order to live a comfortable life, 0:09:49.120,0:09:56.640 we will keep dreaming of it all the time. If we  have way more resources than needed, it keeps us 0:09:56.640,0:10:05.440 too busy not to lose them and, therefore, to  grow them further. Why? It is because nothing 0:10:05.440,0:10:13.200 is sufficient for human greed which is driven  by the human fear of losing everything one has. 0:10:13.200,0:10:21.360 In both cases, we are not living a life full of  freedom. We are doomed to remain slaves to the 0:10:21.360,0:10:29.440 same wicked design that we ourselves created as  our sociocultural structure. It not only robs us 0:10:29.440,0:10:36.480 personally of our joy of living a free life but  also socially of the countless geniuses hidden 0:10:36.480,0:10:44.480 in broad daylight amidst us. This is because  they never become free to exhibit their talents 0:10:44.480,0:10:52.400 while they are busy dreaming of and toiling for  the ownership of a bigger chunk of resources. 0:10:52.400,0:10:59.360 Slaves never enjoy. They don’t enjoy because  they are not free. Slave holders never enjoy 0:10:59.360,0:11:05.520 either. They don’t enjoy because they are  busy keeping slaves as slaves forever. 0:11:05.520,0:11:13.680 Hence their slaves don’t let them be free. They become the slaves of their slaves. I 0:11:13.680,0:11:18.080 still remember a couplet that I  had read in my early childhood: 0:11:18.080,0:11:26.320 Leave your birthplace, And roam around the world;  Refusing either to be a slave, Or a slave holder 0:11:26.320,0:11:34.720 I wouldn’t be surprised if you are asking as you  read this, “Who decides what is comfortable?”. 0:11:34.720,0:11:41.920 Well, it is my contention that ‘Skeletally Leapt”  humans, operating primarily from their brains, 0:11:41.920,0:11:48.800 would answer that question organically and would  arrive at similar, if not the same, answers as a 0:11:48.800,0:11:55.200 society. Therefore, we don’t really need to take  any direct corrective action in order to resolve 0:11:55.200,0:12:03.520 this dilemma. We just need to empty our mind via  Skeletal Leap to regain our health. And leave it 0:12:03.520,0:12:10.400 to our brain to take the right spontaneous  decisions. What constitutes a comfortable 0:12:10.400,0:12:17.200 life would be as obvious to them the same way that  existence of matter is self-evident to science and 0:12:17.200,0:12:26.640 that of life is self-evident to each one of us. Sociocultural Root Chakra: Industrial Complex 0:12:26.640,0:12:32.640 The first 6000 yearsh1 after the transition  from the mode of hunting-gathering to that of 0:12:32.640,0:12:38.640 agriculture and cattle-rearing resulted  in two strong social institutions: 0:12:38.640,0:12:46.160 business and the state. Business was in the  rudimentary form of loosely organized crafts, 0:12:46.160,0:12:53.600 trades and services while the state gradually  evolved into aggressive empires that constantly 0:12:53.600,0:13:01.920 fought with one another and extended their control  over further chunks of lands and populations. 0:13:01.920,0:13:08.640 Everything remained in flux for a very long  period of around the next 6,000 years. Empires 0:13:08.640,0:13:16.800 kept changing hands by new power centers forcing  businesses to keep changing their currencies. 0:13:16.800,0:13:22.720 Much later, after the Industrial Revolution in  Europe took place in the eighteenth century, 0:13:22.720,0:13:28.880 businesses were able to revolutionize their  speed of production. Their sizes started 0:13:28.880,0:13:33.440 getting bigger and bigger needing  bigger markets for their products 0:13:33.440,0:13:40.560 and more raw materials for their production. This started an era of certain European nations 0:13:40.560,0:13:48.560 colonizing far-flung countries in Asia, Africa  and South America mainly for the resources that 0:13:48.560,0:13:55.680 lay untapped therein. The ones that missed  the bus then tried to compensate later by 0:13:55.680,0:14:02.560 waging the two World Wars that they eventually  lost. Still, these two wars left the imperial 0:14:02.560,0:14:09.680 powers’ control on their colonies severely  depleted. They were forced to move out, 0:14:09.680,0:14:16.320 limiting them back to their own homelands. Since the world came out of the trend of 0:14:16.320,0:14:22.080 nations attacking others to extend their  boundaries and control, political control 0:14:22.080,0:14:28.640 has given way to business control all over the  world. The power of big business has assumed 0:14:28.640,0:14:36.320 the size of financial empires, bestowing them  with real powers to manipulate governments. 0:14:36.320,0:14:42.560 Business morphed into a profit generating machine  more than a responsible facilitator of comforts 0:14:42.560,0:14:50.720 and innovations. Politics-business nexus began  centralizing unprecedented powers to control 0:14:50.720,0:14:59.840 almost every single aspect of people’s lives. As of today, business as an entity has started 0:14:59.840,0:15:05.360 controlling every single  aspect of our life on earth. 0:15:05.360,0:15:14.080 Sociocultural Root Chakra: Politics-Business Nexus Power got concentrated in the hands of the cunning 0:15:14.080,0:15:21.040 and the corrupt. And they took extra care to  ensure that it never slipped off their hands. 0:15:21.920,0:15:27.840 All the instruments of the state that existed  in the name of serving the masses actually 0:15:27.840,0:15:34.480 started being co-opted by secret agenda.  These agenda took care that the cunning 0:15:34.480,0:15:41.440 and the corrupt were able to maintain their  control over people’s lives and prosperity. 0:15:41.440,0:15:45.440 Countries were never a part of  the package that we received as 0:15:45.440,0:15:53.120 we evolved into a thinking species on earth. What was offered to us was an unnamed vast 0:15:53.120,0:16:00.000 expanse of land to live and move around on. This nexus between the state and the 0:16:00.000,0:16:08.400 business threatens the very welfare of humanity. Business, as an entity, has grown so powerful that 0:16:08.400,0:16:15.280 it can even make or break political structures  anywhere. Both of them have their respective 0:16:15.280,0:16:21.920 vested interests which generally don’t align  with the genuine interests of the very populace 0:16:21.920,0:16:27.840 that they each claim to ‘serve’. Human-induced climate change is 0:16:27.840,0:16:36.400 a direct outcome of this misalignment. During the COP26, the yearly UN climate summit 0:16:36.400,0:16:44.800 held in Glasgow in 2021, the well-known climate  activist Greta Thunberg protested in Glasgow, 0:16:44.800,0:16:52.080 saying COP26 wasn’t leading us anywhere. Only  pledges and commitments aren’t going to stop 0:16:52.080,0:17:01.040 temperature from rising beyond 1.5C. We do need to  implement them under a strict regimen holding all 0:17:01.040,0:17:09.040 parties accountable to their commitments. COP27 was held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, 0:17:09.040,0:17:17.760 from 6 November until 20 November 2022. Its  credibility was dealt a serious blow by the 0:17:17.760,0:17:26.880 absence of big powers, Russia and China. COP28, held from 30 November to 13 December 0:17:26.880,0:17:34.880 2023 at Expo City, Dubai, United Arab  Emirates received widespread criticism 0:17:34.880,0:17:44.000 as it lacked a clear-cut time-based commitment  to either fossil fuel phase-out or phase-down. 0:17:44.000,0:17:51.200 China and India did not even sign the pledge to  triple their output of renewable energy by the 0:17:51.200,0:18:01.280 year 2030 and committed to coal power instead. COP29 held from 11 November to 22 November 0:18:01.280,0:18:11.440 2024 in Baku, Ajerbaijan couldn’t break any new  ground too, limiting itself to lip service alone. 0:18:11.440,0:18:17.920 Who will ensure that the targets of these  summits are met before it is too late? 0:18:17.920,0:18:23.200 Unluckily, here again, the national  ambitions of the politics-business 0:18:23.200,0:18:30.320 nexus are coming in the way of its success.  The point of no return is very close and, 0:18:30.320,0:18:36.560 when it arrives, it will be no less than Nero  playing the fiddle while Rome was burning! 0:18:37.280,0:18:43.120 This, though, is only half the story  of the sociocultural root chakra. 0:18:43.120,0:18:47.920 The other half of the sociocultural root  chakra got closed by the corruption of our 0:18:47.920,0:18:54.880 safety needs through the ‘currency’ we know  as ‘public welfare’. Safety needs comprise 0:18:54.880,0:19:00.960 healthcare along with security. These  are provided by healthcare facilities, 0:19:00.960,0:19:11.120 judiciary for providing justice, army and warfare  for defense and governments for making policies. 0:19:11.120,0:19:18.000 Sociocultural Root Chakra:  Big Pharma & Health Insurance 0:19:18.000,0:19:25.280 Healthcare has, of course, helped the masses in  a great way but only to manage ailing conditions, 0:19:25.280,0:19:34.080 not curing them permanently. It definitely did its  bit in surgical interventions excellently but then 0:19:34.080,0:19:42.080 fell short of energizing society cyclically.  As far as judicial systems are concerned, 0:19:42.080,0:19:47.680 they do their job only up to the point  where the political system at the helm 0:19:47.680,0:19:54.800 of power doesn’t get challenged. After  that point is reached, politics-judiciary 0:19:54.800,0:20:00.960 nexus immediately gets created by those in  political power at the moment in a covert 0:20:00.960,0:20:07.760 dictatorial way. We have seen it happening in  more than one countries in the recent past. 0:20:08.720,0:20:14.320 Similarly, public welfare got diminished by  sloganeering that takes center stage rather than 0:20:14.320,0:20:22.320 fulfilling safety needs in reality. Armies have  always remained an instrument of offense rather 0:20:22.320,0:20:31.520 than genuine defense for safety. Warfare has  been a way of life along the passage of history. 0:20:31.520,0:20:36.960 What essentially is it that makes us prone  to falling in the trap of an unhealthy life? 0:20:37.760,0:20:44.800 An Unhealthy Fragmented Mind: As already described in Episode 26 in detail, 0:20:44.800,0:20:51.840 a fragmented mind is an unhealthy mind. Okay, but what exactly do we mean by 0:20:51.840,0:20:56.480 the fragmentation of mind? Well, fragmentation simply 0:20:56.480,0:21:02.800 means divided in two or more parts rather  than being one single entity as a whole. 0:21:03.440,0:21:10.960 When it comes to an undivided mind, it means a  mind focused at one single thing at one given 0:21:10.960,0:21:20.560 time. It happens when the mind is emptied of all  its motivations and left alone with its passion. 0:21:20.560,0:21:27.200 From Interest to Involvement to Focus: When the mind is focused at one single thing 0:21:27.200,0:21:36.480 like this, it works at its best. All its energies  get aligned, producing a laser-like effect in 0:21:36.480,0:21:43.040 order to deal with the concern in question. Such focus comes with absolute involvement in 0:21:43.040,0:21:48.960 the process that the mind is busy with. But generally, the mind lacks that 0:21:48.960,0:21:54.560 level of involvement in almost  anything it lays its hands on. 0:21:54.560,0:21:59.680 Why? Simply because it is not REALLY interested in it! 0:22:00.400,0:22:05.760 It is interested in what it  is going to get out of it. 0:22:05.760,0:22:14.480 Herein lies the biggest lacuna of human health,  i.e., the way humanity lives an unhealthy life. 0:22:14.480,0:22:21.040 Passion Vs Motivation: We do an action not because that action 0:22:21.040,0:22:28.160 is our passion. We rather do it based on the  motivation for what it is going to reward us with. 0:22:28.880,0:22:36.720 We act out of motivation, not out of passion. If motivation is the driving force behind our 0:22:36.720,0:22:42.960 mental action, it has already fragmented  our mind. Mind is doing one thing in the 0:22:42.960,0:22:49.600 present and thinking about another in  the future or the past, for that matter. 0:22:49.600,0:22:56.400 It is not really involved in the action, simply  because it is not really interested in the action. 0:22:57.120,0:23:02.160 Motivation Is A Mirage: It is interested in something other than 0:23:02.160,0:23:08.640 acting in the present. It is rather the action of  dreaming about the future when it hopefully will 0:23:08.640,0:23:14.560 have rewarded us with its outcome. Motivation and passion don’t ever 0:23:14.560,0:23:20.880 go hand in hand with each other. Motivation comes from outside. It is 0:23:20.880,0:23:25.520 needed only when we are not passionate  about what we are doing from within. 0:23:26.320,0:23:32.720 In that sense, we can think of punishment  as its opposite. If we are not passionate, 0:23:32.720,0:23:39.600 we are shown a carrot to do a thing to the  best of our efficiency. If that fails, a rod 0:23:39.600,0:23:47.120 as punishment is the next option that is applied. If we are passionate from within, we neither need 0:23:47.120,0:23:56.160 a carrot as motivation nor a rod as punishment. The greed for a carrot or the fear of a rod can 0:23:56.160,0:24:03.040 only make cosmetic enhancements in efficiency.  Neither can ever match the efficiency that comes 0:24:03.040,0:24:08.720 from passion for the action at hand. This  is simply because the reward-punishment 0:24:08.720,0:24:15.120 approach doesn’t enjoy the process, it  is rather preoccupied with outcome alone. 0:24:15.840,0:24:20.320 But humanity performs almost all  its actions out of motivation for 0:24:20.320,0:24:29.760 the outcome, not out of passion for the action. The results are always much less than optimal. 0:24:29.760,0:24:36.800 It further fragments our mind, looking for an  even stronger motivation the next time. Our 0:24:36.800,0:24:44.080 petty vision keeps us limited but still satisfied  in just doing the job a little better each time. 0:24:44.080,0:24:49.040 But it is never going to happen! We may come up with various acceptable 0:24:49.040,0:24:54.880 outcomes that our society has become  accustomed to. But we will never be able 0:24:54.880,0:25:03.280 to come up with an optimally excellent outcome  generating an exhilarating experience in life. 0:25:03.280,0:25:07.680 Mind Affecting Body: This was all about the 0:25:07.680,0:25:14.000 dynamics of an unhealthy mind in action. What about its effects on the body? 0:25:14.000,0:25:19.520 The body is responsible for healthy  physiological processes, after all. 0:25:19.520,0:25:25.600 Well, it turns out that an unhealthy  mind makes the body unhealthy too. 0:25:25.600,0:25:28.800 When two opposite driving  forces pull the mind in two 0:25:28.800,0:25:36.960 opposite directions, the body mirrors the same. This results largely due to the nerves carrying 0:25:36.960,0:25:43.040 two or more opposing signals from the brain.  These conflicting signals confound the muscles 0:25:43.040,0:25:50.000 to move in two or more opposite directions. In such a situation, it becomes physically 0:25:50.000,0:25:55.360 impossible for the muscles to follow  such opposing signals from the brain. 0:25:55.360,0:26:01.200 Fragmentation Generates Stress: An unhealthy fragmented mind 0:26:01.200,0:26:05.840 makes the brain go haywire. When the muscles are not able 0:26:05.840,0:26:10.880 to follow the conflicting signals  from the brain, what do they do? 0:26:10.880,0:26:16.400 They just get set in a state of  limbo, which turns them rigid. 0:26:16.400,0:26:20.800 Rigidified involuntary muscles  inside the body as well as the 0:26:20.800,0:26:28.480 voluntary ones outside it turn the body rigid. This rigidity manifests itself in the body’s 0:26:28.480,0:26:35.120 internal physiological processes  as well as its external actions. 0:26:35.120,0:26:41.520 This is how mental stress, which is nothing but  a state of fragmented mind, turns into physical 0:26:41.520,0:26:49.120 stress. It debilitates the body and renders  it prone to all kinds of lifestyle diseases. 0:26:49.120,0:26:53.040 Holistic Healing Vs Modern  Pharmaceutical Medicine: 0:26:53.760,0:27:00.640 Holistic healing is a philosophical approach to  healing. It stands 180o opposite to the approach 0:27:00.640,0:27:08.320 of modern pharmaceutical medicine. This is as  far as taking care of human health is concerned. 0:27:08.320,0:27:13.520 Pharmaceutical medicine, also known as  ‘Big Pharma’, is a big business with its 0:27:13.520,0:27:20.880 size being over one trillion U.S. dollars per  year. It is very natural that business will do 0:27:20.880,0:27:28.080 its best never to let its grip loosen on such  a large market. Especially when an alternative 0:27:28.080,0:27:33.600 approach such as holistic healing starts  growing roots in the mindset of the masses. 0:27:34.240,0:27:39.840 I would like to point out here that it is not  a mere coincidence that, whenever a social 0:27:39.840,0:27:46.560 institution such as pharmaceutical medicine  attempts to fulfill a real safety need (health, 0:27:46.560,0:27:53.920 in this case), the already corrupted institution  of business takes over. It is much the same way 0:27:53.920,0:27:59.760 that an individual human body in which the root  chakra is closed is prone to the higher chakras 0:27:59.760,0:28:07.760 getting closed as well. No wonder then, that we  are dealing with “too big to fail” monsters such 0:28:07.760,0:28:16.240 as politics-business nexus, politics-judiciary  nexus, ‘big pharma’ and many other harmful nexuses 0:28:16.240,0:28:22.720 that we will talk further about. Scientific Validity: 0:28:22.720,0:28:28.320 The way big business thwarts an alternative  approach to healing is by challenging its 0:28:28.320,0:28:35.360 scientific validity. Its main assertion is  that any such procedures need to undergo 0:28:35.360,0:28:42.400 strict laboratory testing. Health authorities  always look for convincing statistical data to 0:28:42.400,0:28:48.480 establish the efficacy of any new  approach to address human health. 0:28:48.480,0:28:54.640 But in doing so, the field of pharmaceutical  medicine ignores the most basic philosophy of 0:28:54.640,0:29:01.920 healing which is to do away with the root cause  of any health problem. It is not sufficient to do 0:29:01.920,0:29:09.280 away with the symptoms of the problem alone. If the symptoms alone are done away with, 0:29:09.280,0:29:15.840 the problem tends to relapse. Almost  everyone has experienced this. That is, 0:29:15.840,0:29:23.360 perhaps, why the modern medical approach calls  their procedures ‘treatments’ and not ‘cures’. 0:29:23.360,0:29:28.080 Treatment Vs Cure: Healing, on the other hand, 0:29:28.080,0:29:33.520 concerns itself with curing an illness  permanently as opposed to treating it 0:29:33.520,0:29:41.600 temporarily by focussing on its symptoms alone. Treating symptoms temporarily can be a much 0:29:41.600,0:29:48.080 swifter process than curing the root cause  permanently. This is the reason why modern 0:29:48.080,0:29:54.960 pharmaceutical medicine has gained acceptance  among the masses. In the age of fast food, 0:29:54.960,0:30:02.720 people look for fast medicine as well. It doesn’t  matter if it damages their health in the long run. 0:30:02.720,0:30:09.680 Treating Symptoms Alone Spoils Health: How does treating only symptoms damage 0:30:09.680,0:30:15.040 health in the long run? It does so in two main ways: 0:30:16.000,0:30:22.560 First, as the symptoms temporarily disappear,  the patients psychologically feel that the 0:30:22.560,0:30:29.600 problem has been eliminated. Hence they revert  to their old lifestyles that had caused the 0:30:29.600,0:30:37.120 problem in the very first place. As a result,  the problem relapses after some time turning 0:30:37.120,0:30:43.840 them weaker and weaker every time it does. Second, the symptoms cannot be naturally 0:30:43.840,0:30:50.000 eliminated without addressing the causative  factors. What pharmaceutical medicine actually 0:30:50.000,0:30:57.120 does is that it suppresses the symptoms  artificially by sending an army of antibodies 0:30:57.120,0:31:03.040 from outside. It doesn’t strengthen the  antibodies that the innate immune system 0:31:03.040,0:31:10.240 generates within. The immune system is just  not given enough time or chance to fight the 0:31:10.240,0:31:17.760 illness with its own natural antibodies. As a result, in the long run, it gets 0:31:17.760,0:31:23.600 conditioned not to be able to generate  these antibodies efficiently anymore. 0:31:23.600,0:31:29.760 It leads to incrementally reduced immunity  in the mind-body system after taking every 0:31:29.760,0:31:36.000 course of modern pharmaceutical medicine. Every new relapse of the same condition 0:31:36.000,0:31:43.680 proves to be more serious than the former,  complicating the treatment more complex each time. 0:31:43.680,0:31:50.400 Health deteriorates further! Lifestyle Diseases: 0:31:50.400,0:31:56.480 Apart from normal acute diseases, there  are more permanent lifestyle diseases too. 0:31:56.480,0:32:04.000 migraines | diabetes | hypothyroid |  hyperthyroid | hypertension | heart 0:32:04.000,0:32:10.800 conditions | acidity | constipation  | obesity | liver cirrhosis | kidney 0:32:10.800,0:32:16.240 failure | asthma | anxiety |  depression | and many more. 0:32:17.040,0:32:23.040 Unfortunately, modern pharmaceutical medicine  doesn’t have any permanent cure for them. It 0:32:23.040,0:32:29.680 only has a few options to merely manage  the above-listed conditions somehow. 0:32:29.680,0:32:34.080 Role of Money: Significant resources are required 0:32:34.080,0:32:41.680 in carrying out such monitored tests on sample  sets of patients. ‘Big Pharma’ is the entity that 0:32:41.680,0:32:49.120 funds this research and then has to make it all  back by lobbying for, marketing and force-feeding 0:32:49.120,0:32:58.160 medicines that only cure symptoms to a populace  that, at best, gets habituated and, at worst, gets 0:32:58.160,0:33:05.520 addicted to them. It is something like pop music  and popular movies selling way more than classical 0:33:05.520,0:33:13.920 ones or fast food more than nutritious diet. Both time and resources go against holistic 0:33:13.920,0:33:20.640 healing procedures. They aren’t effectively  able to carry out monitored tests on large 0:33:20.640,0:33:26.080 enough sample sizes of patients for a  long enough time. Hence they are at a 0:33:26.080,0:33:33.280 loss to show better statistical results  in a scientifically convincing manner. 0:33:33.280,0:33:38.480 It is very much like the rich becoming  richer even if inefficient, and the poor 0:33:38.480,0:33:45.200 becoming poorer even if more virtuous. Healthcare also brings in another 0:33:45.200,0:33:51.120 big business as a huge commercial  activity called health insurance. 0:33:51.920,0:33:58.960 It benefits from people’s fear of falling ill  or else dying prematurely, both of which have 0:33:58.960,0:34:07.120 scary consequences to deal with. There is also  a much costlier fear of losing what one has, 0:34:07.120,0:34:15.040 including one’s business and costly belongings. In a healthy society supported by strong pillars 0:34:15.040,0:34:23.760 of closely-knit communities, such fears wouldn’t  have rooted themselves deep enough. But since that 0:34:23.760,0:34:32.400 is not what it is, an individual feels alienated,  scared of being left alone in any such emergency. 0:34:33.200,0:34:38.160 The only available option one finds  to feel reasonably safe and secure 0:34:38.160,0:34:46.800 is a legally binding insurance to take care in  case any such casualty happens. And ironically, 0:34:46.800,0:34:54.080 the agency that provides this feeling of safety  is one of the biggest businesses on earth. 0:34:54.800,0:35:00.320 Although it does provide the feeing of  a legal safety, the socio-psychological 0:35:00.320,0:35:07.200 security network is awfully missing.  On top of it, recurring payments for 0:35:07.200,0:35:14.080 various kinds of insurance add up fast to a  considerable sum to part with, every month. 0:35:14.800,0:35:21.360 The insurance companies have the last laugh  with a heavy bank balance at their disposal. 0:35:21.360,0:35:29.680 Even after the legal safety is purchased, the  lonely individual mind never sits relaxed! 0:35:29.680,0:35:37.680 It is always the mind that fears. Brain simply  acts in a passionately focused manner if needed. 0:35:37.680,0:35:44.880 Sociocultural Root Chakra:  Military-Industrial Complex 0:35:44.880,0:35:53.200 Army - A Social Institution Licensed to Kill: Army is one of the most weird social 0:35:53.200,0:35:58.240 institutions that Homo  sapiens ever built on earth! 0:35:58.240,0:36:04.720 Is it possible for a sensitive soldier to kill  an enemy soldier without feeling bad about it? 0:36:05.360,0:36:12.240 Killing a man is not like killing an animal.  Had it been so, consuming human flesh could 0:36:12.240,0:36:20.400 have been a norm like eating animal flesh is. But we don’t eat our own species simply because 0:36:20.400,0:36:28.240 we sense a common link among us. Even the thought  of doing so invokes a strong revulsion not only 0:36:28.240,0:36:35.120 in our mind but in our body too. Won’t a real killing of a real man 0:36:35.120,0:36:40.800 invoke a similar reaction in someone  with a normal level of sensitivity? 0:36:40.800,0:36:48.640 It should! It ought to! Sensitivity Vs Insensitivity: 0:36:48.640,0:36:53.520 If it doesn’t, it simply shows  that the person concerned is not 0:36:53.520,0:36:59.520 sensitive enough to feel bad about it. But then, throughout the history of 0:36:59.520,0:37:06.640 mankind there have been armies invading  other armies to kill soldiers in wars. 0:37:06.640,0:37:12.640 Who are these people who do so and  don’t ever feel a tinge about it? 0:37:12.640,0:37:18.480 One can only infer that the human mind can  certainly be trained to become insensitive enough 0:37:18.480,0:37:25.520 not to feel bad about killing other humans. But is that a healthy state to achieve? 0:37:26.400,0:37:33.760 What implications will such insensitivity have  on the mental health of the person concerned? 0:37:33.760,0:37:40.080 The real act of love depends on sensitivity  in order for its subtleties to be felt! Will 0:37:40.080,0:37:47.440 a killer ever be able to love another human  being with all the soft and tender feelings? 0:37:47.440,0:37:49.600 Certainly not! 0:37:49.600,0:37:54.560 His/her act of love would also be  something like an act of winning a war. 0:37:55.360,0:38:01.360 An Army Against Another Army: That was from the perspective of an 0:38:01.360,0:38:07.280 individual soldier who is trained to kill. Let’s ponder upon it from a 0:38:07.280,0:38:13.040 totally different perspective now. How can the collective humanity justify 0:38:13.040,0:38:21.840 raising armies aimed at killing other humans? What turns certain armies enemy to one another? 0:38:21.840,0:38:30.080 Soldiers in the two enemy armies don’t even know  one another, let alone being each other’s enemies! 0:38:30.080,0:38:35.360 The same enemies might have been the best of  friends, had they met one another in different 0:38:35.360,0:38:41.920 circumstances elsewhere in life. Why all this enmity? 0:38:41.920,0:38:47.520 And who can guarantee it will continue  like this in the future? On retirement, 0:38:47.520,0:38:54.080 they may settle down in some foreign land and end  up being next door neighbors. They may even turn 0:38:54.080,0:39:01.120 out to be passionately fond of each other! Anything is possible! We just investigated 0:39:01.120,0:39:06.880 one such hypothetical situation. Even if some lands are spared being 0:39:06.880,0:39:14.400 tagged as adversaries by the political bosses, our  sensitivities may never be with them. We may turn 0:39:14.400,0:39:22.240 insensitive to the people residing in those lands. We inherited this beautiful earth and 0:39:22.240,0:39:29.440 we divided it into countries and  nationalities making it look so ugly! 0:39:29.440,0:39:36.720 In today’s world, this enmity is further  strengthened by mainly two kinds of narratives. 0:39:36.720,0:39:42.880 The first one is the border disputes that  generally afflict neighboring nations. 0:39:42.880,0:39:48.640 The second narrative has to do with the  ideological differences. Nations tend to 0:39:48.640,0:39:56.080 resist worldviews that affect the kind of society  they have designed for themselves, even if such 0:39:56.080,0:40:03.840 resistance comes from thousands of miles away. Any suspicious move by one is interpreted as a 0:40:03.840,0:40:09.760 conspiracy on their behalf intending to  devour the very existence of the other. 0:40:09.760,0:40:16.960 In such a scenario, every nation is  always in a constant state of paranoia. 0:40:16.960,0:40:23.360 Politicians very well know how to create  narratives benefiting them in strengthening 0:40:23.360,0:40:30.160 their control on the internal politics of  their own states. They can easily turn them 0:40:30.160,0:40:37.280 as a dangerous threat to their very existence  as a nation. A sprawling wave of fear spreads 0:40:37.280,0:40:43.600 all over in the minds of its inhabitants who,  then, are ready to unconditionally support 0:40:43.600,0:40:51.920 their rulers. The armies are alerted, recruiting  more soldiers and purchasing new lethal arms for 0:40:51.920,0:41:00.640 them. Everyone shuns their brains, panicking  and acting emotionally in a haphazard manner. 0:41:01.360,0:41:07.360 We have seen it happening all around  the world for various political motives. 0:41:07.360,0:41:12.400 Fast Forward to The Present Day: Let us fast forward to the present 0:41:12.400,0:41:17.520 day scenario of the state. The state changed its form in 0:41:17.520,0:41:23.280 almost all countries and nationalities from  feudal kingdoms to the so-called democratic 0:41:23.280,0:41:29.120 republics. They should actually have been  called plutocratic republics instead. 0:41:29.840,0:41:37.120 The dominance of resources in the present form of  money still persists as far as formation of the 0:41:37.120,0:41:43.520 governments in all countries and nationalities  is concerned. It was only the form of the state 0:41:43.520,0:41:51.040 that changed, not its essential character. The cunning and the corrupt are still in 0:41:51.040,0:41:57.920 power in every state of the world. Thanks to  the power of money that gets them elected to 0:41:57.920,0:42:05.920 represent millions of people under the mask of  patriotism. This is now an irrefutable fact. 0:42:05.920,0:42:09.920 Aesthetic Needs Arts and entertainment 0:42:09.920,0:42:16.400 networks are social institutions that fall under  sociocultural sacral chakra arising from the 0:42:16.400,0:42:26.320 suppression/ repression of sexual gratification.  The currencies it uses are ‘fame’ and ‘celebrity’. 0:42:26.320,0:42:33.920 The growth needs that these institutions  aim to fulfill are aesthetic needs. However, 0:42:33.920,0:42:40.320 these aesthetic needs got corrupted by the  currency of ‘fame’ and ‘celebrity’ into phenomena 0:42:40.320,0:42:48.400 such as the ‘star system’ in the film industry. And since the suppression/ repression of sexual 0:42:48.400,0:42:56.320 gratification was an intensive as well as an  extensive phenomenon, almost everyone looked 0:42:56.320,0:43:05.280 forward to aesthetic experiences either in the  form of a creator or else a consumer. Consuming 0:43:05.280,0:43:13.520 was way easier than creating aesthetic experiences  offering day-dreams to them. Naturally, 0:43:13.520,0:43:21.920 consumers of such aesthetic experiences found an  element of entertainment in them. As a result, 0:43:21.920,0:43:30.320 such experiences started pulling in huge crowds to  their performances. Their creators and performers 0:43:30.320,0:43:38.160 started acquiring fame and celebrity resulting in  a special status for them in society. This helped 0:43:38.160,0:43:46.560 them to not only become rich but also objects  of desire for their consumers. This also helped 0:43:46.560,0:43:53.360 them in coming out of suppression/ repression of  their sexual gratification. Soon, they started 0:43:53.360,0:44:00.640 acquiring a larger than life stature in society,  epitomizing its most sought after desires. 0:44:01.520,0:44:09.360 Thus, art, the purpose of which was to fulfill  aesthetic needs got waylaid by the artist and, 0:44:09.360,0:44:14.960 consequently, the sociocultural  sacral chakra got closed. 0:44:14.960,0:44:22.400 Thanks for listening to this episode of Skeletal  Leap: A Living Adventure! Wants vs Needs: Corruption of Love and Belonging Needs! Podcast Episode 31

WANTS VS NEEDS: CORRUPTION OF LOVE AND BELONGING NEEDS! - INTRODUCTION Welcome back to the 31st episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure! Today’s episode titled “Wants vs Needs: Corruption of Love and Belonging Needs!” will tell you about corruption in marriage, organized sport, and nation state. The institutions of marriage, organized sport and nation state make up the sociocultural heart chakra that aims to fulfill the needs of love and belongingness in society. The currencies it uses are ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’. Identification and attachment turned more important than fulfilling the needs of compassionate love and belonging in society. Corrupted by the currencies of ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’, these needs gave rise to social institutions such as marriage, organized sport and nation state. Today, the institution of marriage has come down to the verge of extinction, thanks to the ever-increasing rate of divorces. Sporting spirit took a big hit the moment it got redesigned on the lines of mini warfare, thereby corrupting its whole foundation. Loyalty and patriotism promoted love and belonging in society but in an extremely fragmented way, leading to nation states. SKELETAL LEAP, the mind body connection for mind and body healing, is a giant leap that our skeleton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton] can take through the way it postures its joints. I had stumbled upon this miracle many years ago, coincidentally WANTS VS NEEDS: CORRUPTION OF LOVE AND BELONGING NEEDS! - SHOW NOTES In this compelling episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure, I dive into the intricate web of corruption woven through the institutions of marriage, organized sport, and nation states.  Titled “Wants vs Needs: Corruption of Love and Belonging Needs!” this episode explores how these societal pillars, designed to fulfill our needs for love and belonging, have been compromised by the currencies of identity and loyalty. As we unpack the socio-cultural heart chakra, we reveal how the essence of love has been distorted, leading to the disintegration of marriage and the transformation of sports into a battlefield of ego.  The episode highlights the increasing divorce rates that threaten family structures and the rise of nationalism that fosters division and hatred. I investigate the implications of these corruptions on our relationships and societal cohesion, questioning what true love means in a world where identity and loyalty overshadow genuine connection.  Through this exploration, I aim to shed light on the profound effects of a fragmented mind on our collective well-being. Join me as I navigate the complexities of love, loyalty, and the societal constructs that shape our lives.  WANTS VS NEEDS: CORRUPTION OF LOVE AND BELONGING NEEDS! - CHAPTERS Chapters: (00:00:01) - Corruption in Marriage, Sports and Nation State (00:03:20) - What is Love and Its Definition? Sporting spirit took a big hit the moment it got 0:01:35.840,0:01:41.400 redesigned on the lines of mini warfare,  thereby corrupting its whole foundation. 0:01:42.560,0:01:50.240 Loyalty and patriotism promoted love and belonging  in society but in an extremely fragmented way, 0:01:50.240,0:01:55.840 leading to nation states. It  also promoted the “othering” 0:01:55.840,0:02:02.360 and hatred against the so-called enemy  societies. It never had a compassionate 0:02:02.360,0:02:08.880 concern for the undivided humanity despite  the numerous slogans it raised along the way. 0:02:10.240,0:02:17.040 This gave rise to disparate ideologies that  often ended up in arms against one another. 0:02:18.520,0:02:23.800 That was what happened during the Cold  War that lasted almost half a century. 0:02:25.240,0:02:31.480 Result – sociocultural heart chakra shut! Marriage 0:02:32.880,0:02:38.720 In the wake of the present human awareness, the  institution of marriage seems to be moving toward 0:02:38.720,0:02:47.560 disintegration. Divorces are at an all-time  high creating a traumatic hell for the children 0:02:47.560,0:02:52.200 whose lives are irreparably disrupted  as and when a marriage breaks down. 0:02:53.600,0:02:58.680 It is too late to go back to the old  community patternh1 of hunter-gatherers 0:02:58.680,0:03:06.080 where fatherhood was inclusive. The reason is  that, today, a father can very easily know who 0:03:06.080,0:03:13.400 his offshoot is with a simple DNA test.  Even an offshoot can do it later in life. 0:03:14.080,0:03:19.160 All this can lead to many kinds of  complexities in relationship patterns. 0:03:20.560,0:03:25.800 Let’s investigate Maslow’s deficiency need  for love and belonging a little deeper. 0:03:26.440,0:03:31.400 If we objectively look at it,  neither psychology nor literature 0:03:31.400,0:03:36.600 has yet been able to provide an authentic  definition of the phenomenon called love. 0:03:38.080,0:03:44.960 And the hard fact is that love occupies the most  central stage in the human psyche as a drive. 0:03:45.760,0:03:52.760 All our literature including poetry, drama,  cinema and fiction thrives on love the most. 0:03:54.160,0:04:01.920 Even religion vouches by it. At times,  philosophers did try to define the phenomenon, 0:04:01.920,0:04:09.960 but there has not been any consensus among them  yet. Humanity still understands love only in an 0:04:09.960,0:04:16.880 intuitive sense. But this intuitive sense about  love is the strongest among all other mental 0:04:16.880,0:04:25.440 phenomena whether emotional, instinctual or moral.  I think majority of humanity would vouch for it. 0:04:26.080,0:04:32.240 And at least in the modern society, people marry  only when they have fallen in love with someone. 0:04:33.600,0:04:39.360 So, how do we define love? It certainly has  something to do with a sense of belonging. 0:04:40.080,0:04:44.120 But that does not take us any closer  to an objective definition of love. 0:04:45.000,0:04:50.600 At best, it simply acts as a synonym. Is love an emotion? 0:04:51.800,0:04:58.080 No. Love cannot be an emotion. Emotions  have their abode in mind alone, 0:04:58.080,0:05:04.240 not in the mind-body system as an organic part  of it. Love is actually a mind-body state. 0:05:05.520,0:05:07.200 Is love a moral value? 0:05:08.680,0:05:16.040 Not even that! Morals are all foreign concepts  nailed into mind alone while we grow up. 0:05:16.840,0:05:21.920 They, too, are not there in the mind-body  system as an organic part of it. 0:05:23.240,0:05:24.800 Is love an instinct? 0:05:26.040,0:05:33.000 Exactly! We are born with it in our body even  when our mind has not yet started developing. 0:05:33.560,0:05:40.760 The newborn immediately starts feeling a sense  of belonging to their mother. Later in life, we 0:05:40.760,0:05:48.080 sense it via interacting with anyone or anything  through our senses. The deeper the interaction, 0:05:48.080,0:05:55.120 the stronger is the sensation of love! Thus love is a sensation. The more we 0:05:55.120,0:06:02.040 have it through our interactions in-depth, the  more it makes us sensitive. The deeper we sense, 0:06:02.040,0:06:09.080 the stronger we love. This deep sensitivity  enables us to feel the other inside out. 0:06:10.800,0:06:16.120 Why don’t we feel this sensation, then, while  interacting with others all day, everyday? 0:06:17.520,0:06:21.640 Simply because we lose our sensitivity  considerably as we grow up in an 0:06:21.640,0:06:28.240 unhealthy environment. Here comes the  debilitating role of the heart chakra 0:06:28.240,0:06:34.680 sticking the chest ‘in’ instead of protruding  it ‘out’ via abducting shoulder joints 0:06:34.680,0:06:42.040 posturing them away from the torso as the first  nature of the body. They rather drop down via 0:06:42.040,0:06:50.760 adducting shoulder joints posturing them stuck to  the torso as an unhealthy habit. This unhealthy 0:06:50.760,0:06:57.920 habit is responsible for closing heart chakra  as it generates a defensive muscular armor (by 0:06:57.920,0:07:04.960 habitually keeping the muscles named pectoralis  major and pectoralis minor rigidly contracted) 0:07:04.960,0:07:12.640 seriously limiting the openness of chest and  arms ready to embrace anyone and everyone around. 0:07:13.960,0:07:20.960 It mentally results in keeping our ‘self’  protected from an imaginary threat of an attack on 0:07:20.960,0:07:31.360 it. On the other hand, the openness of chest and  arms ready to embrace anyone and everyone around 0:07:31.360,0:07:37.880 plays a key role in dissolving one’s ‘self’ with  an open heart chakra in combination with rest of 0:07:37.880,0:07:45.440 the 6 chakras opened. This results in feeling the  sensation of love while interacting with others 0:07:45.440,0:07:54.720 through the day everyday. A healthy mind-body  system is an acutely sensitive system. The more 0:07:54.720,0:08:02.080 it is sensitive physically as well as mentally,  the deeper it interacts and the more it loves. 0:08:03.520,0:08:09.296 Love is actually sensed through a flow of  energy in the body while interacting. That 0:08:09.296,0:08:16.160 is what makes one spiritually healthy as well. And when a healthy mind-body system interacts 0:08:16.160,0:08:23.320 in-depth with another mind-body system of  opposite gender in adulthood, the two interacting 0:08:23.320,0:08:29.880 personalities not only sense love but may also  feel like making love between the two of them. 0:08:30.960,0:08:36.840 That is how two personalities may get  attracted to and fall in love with each other. 0:08:38.360,0:08:43.680 How do sociocultural systems for love and  belonging needs get affected when their 0:08:43.680,0:08:50.760 currencies, namely ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’,  become more important than the real need itself? 0:08:52.320,0:08:56.600 They close the sociocultural heart  chakra of our society en bulk. 0:08:58.120,0:09:03.600 It is just like ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’  work in closing the biological heart chakra 0:09:04.120,0:09:09.480 via keeping our ‘self’ protected from  an imaginary threat of an attack on it. 0:09:10.880,0:09:16.160 These two limiting currencies become the central  theme of the need for love and belonging. 0:09:17.640,0:09:22.920 Once it happens, these currencies  make boundaries around the ‘self’. 0:09:24.320,0:09:29.400 This keeps people isolated and  alienated from other people around them 0:09:29.400,0:09:36.400 in the name of an imaginary safety and security  to keep their ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’ intact. 0:09:37.800,0:09:43.280 How much do we interact with our neighbors in the  modern apartment buildings we live in these days? 0:09:44.760,0:09:49.320 And how readily do we unconditionally  interact with people across the boundaries 0:09:49.320,0:09:54.680 of our ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’, be  those the boundaries of nationality, 0:09:54.680,0:10:03.640 religion, caste, class, faith, belief-system,  ideology, gender, possessive attachment, 0:10:03.640,0:10:10.680 emotional attachment, moral attachment,  generation, and orthodox political affiliation? 0:10:12.120,0:10:17.520 These are the tags of ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’  that keep us away from loving people through 0:10:17.520,0:10:25.280 unconditionally interacting with them in-depth. True love never happens without deep interaction. 0:10:26.280,0:10:32.440 Also, love never happens without an acute  sensitivity to feel the other while interacting. 0:10:33.840,0:10:39.720 No doubt, then, that in the wake of the present  human awareness, the institution of marriage 0:10:39.720,0:10:47.720 seems to be moving toward disintegration. Divorces  are at an all-time high creating a traumatic hell 0:10:47.720,0:10:54.400 for the children whose lives are irreparably  disrupted as and when a marriage breaks down. 0:10:55.920,0:10:58.440 How important is a father for a child? 0:10:59.120,0:11:03.560 And how important is fatherhood for  a sensitive father in today’s life? 0:11:05.240,0:11:11.000 If we look at it from this angle, traditional  marriage seems to be the best solution. 0:11:11.840,0:11:18.680 Even a divorce has no place in it since it  traumatizes children’s life irreparably. 0:11:20.200,0:11:23.640 But divorces cannot be stopped from taking place. 0:11:24.400,0:11:29.480 In fact, they are well on their way to  becoming the rule rather than exception. 0:11:30.960,0:11:38.000 Even if divorces didn’t exist, marriages  turn from fond to dull relationships between 0:11:38.000,0:11:46.440 spouses within no time. When this happens, sex  turns from a romantic and passionate affair 0:11:46.440,0:11:53.680 into a mechanical rut sooner than later. It is a catch-22 situation. 0:11:55.280,0:12:01.040 Organized Sport Sports Vs Sportsman Spirit: 0:12:02.440,0:12:08.480 Sports and sportsman spirit have come to be in  conflict with each other in today’s society. 0:12:09.360,0:12:15.000 It is simply owing to the way sports have been  designed and organized all over the world. 0:12:16.360,0:12:17.960 Why do we play sport? 0:12:19.600,0:12:24.720 I think a rational answer should be  ‘to enjoy skilled physical activity’. 0:12:26.040,0:12:31.840 We enjoy the sporting skill that is required  in order to make strong and specific moves 0:12:31.840,0:12:39.600 demanded by any given sport. We also enjoy  corresponding moves by opponent players or teams. 0:12:41.160,0:12:48.080 This makes it an awe-inspiring scene not only  for the players but for the spectators as well. 0:12:49.440,0:12:50.760 Win Or Lose: 0:12:52.480,0:12:57.760 It would be good enough if it were celebrated  like a festival to inspire awe in the players 0:12:57.760,0:13:07.200 and spectators. But their designers went a step  ahead and tagged the same moves and counter-moves 0:13:07.200,0:13:14.280 with victory and defeat. This introduced  the element of ego in their fabric. 0:13:15.640,0:13:23.240 Who wants to get defeated? No one! Who wants to win? Everyone! 0:13:24.800,0:13:29.160 Thus, winning turned out to be  the prime motto of playing sport. 0:13:30.560,0:13:37.800 The beauty of the skilled moves got pushed to the  margin. The result became more important than the 0:13:37.800,0:13:42.920 enjoyment springing out of the aesthetic  of the awe-inspiring moves themselves. 0:13:44.360,0:13:50.600 We humans have a very crude habit of quantizing  quality which tends to kill its subtleness. 0:13:52.160,0:13:59.520 Being an instinct, love as a need for belonging  is always a subtle one. But when it gets 0:13:59.520,0:14:07.000 replaced with its currencies named ‘identity’ and  ‘loyalty’, we start assessing it in these terms. 0:14:08.400,0:14:14.320 Our intention behind this is always to strengthen  our own limited ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’. 0:14:15.640,0:14:22.240 Assessment is only possible between quantities or  numbers that we start assigning to this quality. 0:14:23.640,0:14:29.320 No wonder, then, that we invent ways to  assign those quantities to the quality 0:14:29.320,0:14:35.680 displayed in a sporting event ending up  with victory for one and defeat for another. 0:14:37.120,0:14:43.280 It is again a very clear case of our sociocultural  system of sport getting afflicted with a closed 0:14:43.280,0:14:51.040 sociocultural heart chakra. Combined with the  rest of other closed sociocultural chakras, 0:14:51.040,0:14:57.080 it ultimately ends up getting afflicted  with practices like match-fixing, betting, 0:14:57.080,0:15:02.960 violence in sports and many more ills. Brute Force to Win: 0:15:04.480,0:15:07.120 Then brute force becomes the rule of the game. 0:15:08.600,0:15:13.000 Let’s ask the same question again… Why do we play sport? 0:15:14.440,0:15:18.040 This time the answer is going  to be ‘in order to win’! 0:15:19.440,0:15:26.560 Where is the existence of sportsman spirit lost? It is only left in the sloganeering aimed at 0:15:26.560,0:15:30.840 glamorizing sports for the very  thing they are no longer about! 0:15:32.160,0:15:35.200 Can you see how the motive  to play changed diametrically 0:15:35.200,0:15:42.600 opposite to the spirit of the sports this time? And this is what inspires us to play sports in 0:15:42.600,0:15:50.560 the present day scenario to win them at any cost. Sports have been designed on the model of war. 0:15:52.000,0:15:55.640 Nation State Patriotism 0:15:57.200,0:16:04.160 Patriotism is a highly revered value all over  the world. It means love for one’s motherland. 0:16:05.520,0:16:12.240 Ironically the word patriotism has originated  from the Greek word patēr, which means father. 0:16:13.480,0:16:17.440 Yet, it has been used to  express the love for a land 0:16:17.440,0:16:21.440 that has been associated not  with father but with mother. 0:16:22.920,0:16:29.040 Logically, it should have been ‘matriotism’ if  it was to express our love for our motherland. 0:16:30.440,0:16:35.240 It simply shows our male gender  bias. ‘Father’ crept in even in the 0:16:35.240,0:16:40.480 formulation of a word that is touted as the  embodiment of something related to ‘mother’. 0:16:41.840,0:16:46.800 But it is not simply a slip of gender that  crept into the naming of something wrong. 0:16:47.640,0:16:52.280 It is much more than that. The Male-oriented Mindset: 0:16:53.520,0:16:55.720 The two mindsets were different… 0:16:57.080,0:17:00.560 The mindset that formulated  the concept of patriotism. 0:17:02.280,0:17:08.160 The mindset that perceived the land of one’s  birth as the land belonging to one’s mother. 0:17:09.520,0:17:11.360 Our So-called Motherlands: 0:17:12.800,0:17:17.000 Our political bosses condition  us to be adversarial in nature. 0:17:17.840,0:17:23.680 They make our soldiers kill and get killed  without knowing the real reasons why. 0:17:24.960,0:17:28.800 They brainwash us into believing that  they are doing so to defend their 0:17:28.800,0:17:32.720 motherland from ‘our’ enemies,  simply because they love it. 0:17:33.440,0:17:39.320 The same is expected from soldiers as far  as their emotional and moral obligations go. 0:17:40.920,0:17:47.600 How do we define our motherland? It may be the village I was born in or the city 0:17:48.240,0:17:56.200 or the district or the state or else the country!  Why can’t it be the planet we were born on? 0:17:57.800,0:18:03.320 It all depends on how narrow or wide our  field of vision and extent of sensitivity are. 0:18:04.760,0:18:10.040 Why are our sensitivities limited to a  political expanse of land and its people? 0:18:11.240,0:18:17.000 Why not beyond it as well? An Example from Nazi Germany: 0:18:18.480,0:18:24.680 By that token, if a German spoke against  Hitler in the late 1930s or early 1940s, 0:18:25.240,0:18:29.000 s/he would be tagged as a  traitor or a seditionist. 0:18:30.320,0:18:37.480 But there were many Germans who did exactly that.  Today, they are not at all tagged as traitors, 0:18:37.480,0:18:43.280 only because Hitler lost the war. Had  Hitler come out victorious in World War 0:18:43.280,0:18:49.120 II (WWII), they would certainly have been  dragged out on the streets and hanged publicly. 0:18:50.400,0:18:56.880 Did these Germans not love their land then? Did  they not love their country while Hitler ruled? 0:18:58.280,0:19:04.360 They certainly did! But they were simply not  patriots in the narrow sense of its meaning. 0:19:05.400,0:19:12.360 That aggressive patriotism would have asked for  their loyalty to any official stand their country 0:19:12.360,0:19:17.080 took against the world. Power Rules The World: 0:19:18.480,0:19:22.840 So were they villains? As said earlier, 0:19:22.840,0:19:28.520 they would certainly have been tagged as  villains if Hitler had been victorious in WWII. 0:19:29.960,0:19:35.880 Were they traitors or seditionists? Again, they would certainly have been 0:19:35.880,0:19:40.800 tagged as traitors and seditionists  if Hitler had been victorious. 0:19:41.920,0:19:46.480 So, patriotism has to do nothing  with the love for one’s motherland. 0:19:47.880,0:19:53.520 It simply deals with the loyalty to the  interests of those who control one’s motherland. 0:19:54.240,0:20:00.320 It is irrelevant how unjustified  or immoral those interests may be. 0:20:01.560,0:20:05.320 It all depends on who is ruling  one’s motherland at present. 0:20:06.480,0:20:09.880 The interests are not in favor of the motherland 0:20:09.880,0:20:14.120 but of those who are ruling  it at any given point in time. 0:20:15.520,0:20:21.160 Sedition means conduct or speech inciting  people to rebel against the authority 0:20:21.160,0:20:26.400 of a state or monarch. A Political Conspiracy: 0:20:27.840,0:20:34.280 Isn’t it simply because our political bosses have  an unwritten, secret conspiracy hatched between 0:20:34.280,0:20:41.240 themselves? A conspiracy that propagandizes  the love for one’s so-called motherland 0:20:41.240,0:20:49.080 as one of the most sacred forms of love on earth? Doesn’t this fanatic love for one’s so-called 0:20:49.080,0:20:56.000 motherland automatically create a fertile ground  for hatred toward other lands and their peoples? 0:20:57.440,0:21:02.400 Especially whenever they get conveniently  tagged as enemy lands by the respective 0:21:02.400,0:21:07.800 political bosses of these chunks of land  as and when it suits their narrative? 0:21:09.120,0:21:16.840 Rules Are Made by Rulers, Not by Ethics: Patriotism and sedition are concepts 0:21:16.840,0:21:23.560 that are defined and held up only by the rulers  of the land. They have their vested interests in 0:21:23.560,0:21:30.880 people being patriots and never seditionists. Patriotism can very easily and effectively 0:21:30.880,0:21:35.600 be exploited to sow the seeds of  hatred for the people of other lands. 0:21:37.080,0:21:43.320 It especially applies to the rulers of those  lands that are in conflict with the interests 0:21:43.320,0:21:50.840 of rulers of their own land. All these rules are  defined and decided by the rulers of the land. 0:21:52.080,0:21:57.200 Why should an Israeli hate a Palestinian  or vice versa if the two countries are 0:21:57.200,0:22:02.000 at war with each other? But man, the concept of 0:22:02.000,0:22:08.120 patriotism does make them do so! Another Example from An Epic: 0:22:09.400,0:22:15.280 In the Hindu epic Ramayana, the character of  Vibhishana has been portrayed as fleeing his 0:22:15.280,0:22:23.160 motherland. He requests Rama, a staunch enemy  at war with his country, to give him shelter. 0:22:23.800,0:22:28.600 He even reveals the most classified secrets  of his own country to Rama in return. 0:22:29.920,0:22:35.800 But no one including the author ever criticizes  him for what he has been portrayed as doing. 0:22:36.920,0:22:44.440 Why? Isn’t his character, the way it is  portrayed, that of a seditionist or a traitor? 0:22:45.880,0:22:52.760 Vibhishana’s character is not looked down upon  for what he did. It is simply because the epic was 0:22:52.760,0:22:59.640 written by the author who sided with the character  of Rama, the eventual victor in the story! 0:23:00.960,0:23:08.360 History is definitely written by the victors.  As it turns out, so also is mythology! 0:23:09.720,0:23:14.480 Patriotism as a concept originated  not out of love for our land. 0:23:15.080,0:23:22.360 It rather came out of our loyalty to the interests  of those who controlled our land, come what may. 0:23:23.600,0:23:30.320 It happens through falling prey to the narratives  that are generated using ambiguous words and 0:23:30.320,0:23:36.800 phrases acting as emotional slogans addressing  the fallible psyche of the common masses. 0:23:38.080,0:23:43.040 These narratives hold their superficial  interests high on a pedestal 0:23:43.040,0:23:49.120 arising from the already unfortunate cognitive  assessment of their love and belonging needs. 0:23:50.440,0:23:57.000 In the process, their mere currencies,  namely ‘identity’ and ‘loyalty’, take over. 0:23:58.360,0:24:02.440 Another case of sociocultural  heart chakra getting closed! 0:24:03.600,0:24:08.480 Thanks for listening to this episode  of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure! 0:24:09.080,0:24:15.000 In the next episode, I will tell you about  corruption in charitable organizations. 0:24:16.080,0:24:21.480 Be a part of Skeletal Leap Community!  Subscribe to Skeletal Leap Newsletter. Wants vs Needs: Corruption of Aesthetic, Physiological and Safety Needs! – Podcast Episode 30

In the next episode, 0:44:22.400,0:44:29.920 I will tell you about corruption in  marriage, organized sport, and nation state. 0:44:29.920,0:44:33.840 Be a part of Skeletal Leap Community! Weird Sociocultural Evolution Comprising Social Evolution & Cultural Evolution! – Podcast Episode 29

WEIRD SOCIOCULTURAL EVOLUTION COMPRISING SOCIAL EVOLUTION & CULTURAL EVOLUTION! - INTRODUCTION Today’s episode titled “Weird Sociocultural Evolution Comprising Social Evolution & Cultural Evolution!” will tell you about sociocultural chakras on the lines of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs turning to wants and thus affecting sociocultural evolution negatively. Before we get to the social approach of Skeletal Leap, let us first look at how societies and cultures evolved, from a sociological and anthropological standpoint. There have been a number of historical attempts by anthropologists and sociologists to understand how sociocultural evolution takes place. SKELETAL LEAP, the mind body connection for mind and body healing, is a giant leap that our skeleton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton] can take through the way it postures its joints. I had stumbled upon this miracle many years ago, coincidentally WEIRD SOCIOCULTURAL EVOLUTION COMPRISING SOCIAL EVOLUTION & CULTURAL EVOLUTION! - SHOW NOTES In this enlightening episode of Skeletal Leap, titled “Weird Sociocultural Evolution Comprising Social Evolution & Cultural Evolution!” I explain the intricate relationship between sociocultural structures and the mind's role in shaping our evolution. Join me as I present a thought-provoking analogy between Maslow's hierarchy of needs and the chakra system, revealing how our societal constructs have been influenced by a fragmented mind's perceptions and fears.  Discover the historical context of socio cultural evolution, from unilineal to multilineal theories, and explore the emergence of Marxism as a lens for understanding cultural development. As we navigate through the complexities of human nature, I argue for a new perspective on sociocultural evolution: the 'multi unilineal' approach. I examine how our sociocultural institutions, often flawed and harmful, have been erected by a fragmented mind, turning genuine needs into mere wants. Furthermore, the episode discusses how the collective fragmented mind can create sociocultural chakras, leading to societal ailments like consumerism and the fragmentation of our consciousness. I emphasize the importance of recognizing and addressing these issues to pave the way for a more harmonious existence. This episode invites you to reflect on the nature of your needs versus wants, and how understanding this distinction can lead to a more fulfilling life.  WEIRD SOCIOCULTURAL EVOLUTION COMPRISING SOCIAL EVOLUTION & CULTURAL EVOLUTION! - CHAPTERS Chapters: (00:00:01) - Skeletal Leap (00:00:48) - Sociological and anthropological perspectives on socio-cultural evolution (00:05:49) - Sociological cultural chakras WEIRD SOCIOCULTURAL EVOLUTION COMPRISING SOCIAL EVOLUTION & CULTURAL EVOLUTION! - VIDEO WEIRD SOCIOCULTURAL EVOLUTION COMPRISING SOCIAL EVOLUTION & CULTURAL EVOLUTION! - TRANSCRIPT WITH TIMESTAMPS 0:00:01.120,0:00:05.920 As I was building up my case against  our sociocultural structures getting 0:00:05.920,0:00:22.000 erected by the mind, an analogy dawned upon me. 0:00:22.000,0:00:26.560 My name is Laadi Ojas. Welcome to “Skeletal Leap: 0:00:26.560,0:00:34.240 A Living Adventure”. Skeletal Leap  transforms one’s life into a personal heaven. 0:00:34.240,0:00:39.520 Today’s episode will tell you about  sociocultural chakras on the lines of 0:00:39.520,0:00:48.000 Maslow’s hierarchy of needs turning to wants and  thus affecting sociocultural evolution negatively. 0:00:48.640,0:00:53.200 Before we get to the social approach  of Skeletal Leap, let us first look at 0:00:53.200,0:01:00.800 how societies and cultures evolved, from a  sociological and anthropological standpoint. 0:01:00.800,0:01:06.720 There have been a number of historical attempts  by anthropologists and sociologists to understand 0:01:06.720,0:01:13.920 how sociocultural evolution takes place.  These attempts study how sociocultural 0:01:13.920,0:01:21.360 institutions change over time, thus weaving  together different evolutionary theories. 0:01:21.360,0:01:28.080 Most of the nineteenth century approaches based  themselves along unilineal evolution. They 0:01:28.080,0:01:34.160 believed that all of humanity socioculturally  evolved along the same process worldwide. 0:01:34.800,0:01:40.000 It was only that some of them were ahead  of the rest who would, nevertheless, 0:01:40.000,0:01:47.600 follow them along the same path in times to come. On the other hand, most of the twentieth century 0:01:47.600,0:01:54.240 approaches based themselves along multilineal  evolution. They believed that different societies 0:01:54.240,0:02:01.040 evolved along their specific historical  contexts. They rejected the theory that 0:02:01.040,0:02:07.760 every society would be evolving along the  same cultural progress sooner or later. 0:02:07.760,0:02:13.920 They argued that different societies adapted  to their own uniquely different environments, 0:02:13.920,0:02:21.760 technological breakthroughs and outside cultural  influences. Multilineal approach also rejected 0:02:21.760,0:02:29.520 any similarity between cultural and biological  evolutions. It argued that cultural patterns 0:02:29.520,0:02:36.960 in far-off lands were genetically unrelated. But in the latter part of the twentieth century, 0:02:36.960,0:02:44.560 several multilineal anthropologists shifted  their approach. Through numerous incremental 0:02:44.560,0:02:52.800 shifts in sociocultural hypotheses, they arrived  at Marxism. Marxism made a speedy entry into the 0:02:52.800,0:02:59.680 world of politics adopted by almost half  the population worldwide. The lens that it 0:02:59.680,0:03:07.360 used to look at sociocultural development was  dialectical and historical materialism. But 0:03:07.360,0:03:13.760 toward the end of the twentieth century, it  started crumbling down under its own weight. 0:03:14.480,0:03:21.280 You may know it better as the fall of the  Soviet Union or the falling of the Berlin Wall. 0:03:21.280,0:03:27.280 The most modern twenty-first century  anthropologists have taken another step to reject 0:03:27.280,0:03:34.880 the very concept of cultural evolution outright.  They are rather exploring new approaches to the 0:03:34.880,0:03:42.960 relationship between culture and its environment.  One of them is a general systems approach 0:03:42.960,0:03:51.920 exploring emergent systems including political,  economic and social interactions among cultures. 0:03:51.920,0:03:58.640 As a special mention here, evolutionary biologist  Richard Dawkins came up with his book The Selfish 0:03:58.640,0:04:07.120 Gene in 1976. Dawkins’ book was voted as the  most influential science book of all time in 0:04:07.120,0:04:16.640 July 2017 on the 30th anniversary of the Royal  Society. He proposed a gene-centered hypothesis of 0:04:16.640,0:04:23.840 sociocultural evolution stating that genetically  related individuals cooperate the best between 0:04:23.840,0:04:32.080 them. And genes replicate themselves better when  they themselves get benefitted, at times even at 0:04:32.080,0:04:39.200 the cost of the entire organism. ‘Selfish’  replication may model culture successfully 0:04:39.200,0:04:47.760 via memes that are self-replicating units of  human cultural transmission analogous to genes. 0:04:47.760,0:04:52.560 This is where we are, at this moment,  as far as understanding sociocultural 0:04:52.560,0:05:00.400 evolution is concerned. And, in my  opinion, this is not sufficient. 0:05:00.400,0:05:06.800 ‘Multi-unilineal’ Approach I think we have missed something very basic. 0:05:06.800,0:05:14.800 We either look at sociocultural evolution as being  entirely unilineal or else entirely mutilineal. 0:05:14.800,0:05:21.360 Reality looks to be somewhere in between. It very  obviously has always been a combination of both, 0:05:21.360,0:05:28.720 in my opinion. Some parts of it have always been  unilineal, not necessarily through intercultural 0:05:28.720,0:05:34.560 interaction but independently evolving on  their own. Some other parts have certainly 0:05:34.560,0:05:41.840 been mutilineal, varying from culture to culture  depending on their specific genetic histories and 0:05:41.840,0:05:49.200 environments. I would like to address them all  with a new inclusive name ‘multi-unilineal’. 0:05:49.920,0:05:53.840 Let us look a little deeper into  these multi-unilineal patterns of 0:05:53.840,0:06:01.200 sociocultural evolution all around the world. These are the patterns that essentially evolved 0:06:01.200,0:06:08.320 almost the same way, yet slightly differently,  in their local hues throughout the world. 0:06:09.120,0:06:15.360 Surprisingly enough, all our sociocultural  institutions have majorly been erected by 0:06:15.360,0:06:22.720 the mind and not through the dictates of the  brain alone. The brain had worked independently 0:06:22.720,0:06:30.320 when it devised wearing leather and burning  fire to ward off cold and cook food. The same 0:06:30.320,0:06:37.440 was true of inhabiting caves and inventing  languages. And these were four supremely 0:06:37.440,0:06:46.320 intelligent inventions that all tribes and races  arrived at in differently similar ways globally. 0:06:46.320,0:06:51.840 But the sociocultural structures erected  by the mind were unfortunately not so 0:06:51.840,0:06:59.760 intelligent. They were flawed at best  and harmful at worst in their design. 0:07:00.560,0:07:05.760 And why it happened so was because the  mind subjectively attached itself to its 0:07:05.760,0:07:15.120 faulty apprehensions of threat to life, in other  words to its self-preservative instincts. Hence, 0:07:15.120,0:07:21.760 it cunningly took control of the brain’s activity  in its fearful stupidity, thereby turning human 0:07:21.760,0:07:31.040 needs into wants. All these structures were  multi-unilenial in their evolutionary process. 0:07:31.040,0:07:35.920 Sociocultural Chakras As I was building up my 0:07:35.920,0:07:44.800 case against our sociocultural structures getting  erected by the mind, an analogy dawned upon me. 0:07:44.800,0:07:52.240 Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Before I come to the analogy, let us take a little 0:07:52.240,0:08:01.680 detour. Abraham Maslow came up with ‘A Theory  of Human Motivation’ in the year 1943. Later, 0:08:01.680,0:08:10.000 he refined it in ‘Motivation and Personality’ in  1954 introducing Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. 0:08:10.000,0:08:15.760 Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs comprises  physiological needs, safety, love 0:08:15.760,0:08:22.480 and belonging and esteem as deficiency  needs, and cognition as a growth need. 0:08:23.600,0:08:31.520 Growth needs further include aesthetic,  self-actualization and transcendence needs. 0:08:31.520,0:08:38.800 And now, let’s come back to my analogy. I  find that the lowest two deficiency needs, 0:08:38.800,0:08:44.800 namely “physiological needs” and “safety needs”,  are parallel to the concerns of the root chakra 0:08:44.800,0:08:51.760 within the chakra system. The third need from  the bottom, “love and belonging”, parallels 0:08:51.760,0:09:00.800 the heart chakra. The fourth deficiency need,  “esteem”, is akin to the throat chakra. Moving 0:09:00.800,0:09:08.400 to Maslow’s growth needs, “cognitive needs”  parallel solar plexus chakra while “aesthetic”, 0:09:08.400,0:09:15.680 “self-actualization” and “transcendence”  needs find their chakra equivalents in sacral, 0:09:15.680,0:09:23.600 third-eye and crown chakras, respectively. Now that we have established that Maslow’s 0:09:23.600,0:09:28.640 Hierarchy of Needs is analogous to  the chakra system, I would like to 0:09:28.640,0:09:36.480 bring our attention to a second analogy. We know that an individual autonomous mind 0:09:36.480,0:09:42.720 generates closed biological chakras in the  human body by corrupting skeletal anatomy. 0:09:43.280,0:09:49.760 I asked myself if a collective autonomous  mind could have generated similarly closed 0:09:49.760,0:09:55.520 sociocultural chakras in human society.  The modus operandi could have been the 0:09:55.520,0:10:03.040 corruption of social needs into societal wants. Things started getting distorted since the very 0:10:03.040,0:10:12.400 beginning of our evolution into Homo sapiens. It  all started with pursuing cognitive needs. We, 0:10:12.400,0:10:20.720 as a society, cognized reality within what was a  suffocating environment dotted with threats and 0:10:20.720,0:10:29.840 challenges. And that perceived reality continues  till date. Humanity is yet to take a sigh of 0:10:29.840,0:10:38.400 relief, thereby seriously corrupting its breathing  pattern. It was this corruption that gave birth to 0:10:38.400,0:10:46.080 a blocked sociocultural solar plexus chakra.  Acting out of the mind’s fearful perception 0:10:46.080,0:10:53.520 of so-called threats and challenges, humanity has  always been in a hurry to control the environment 0:10:53.520,0:11:01.040 which is a mirage in itself. Just like the solar  plexus charka leads to asthma and other diseases 0:11:01.040,0:11:08.720 in the body, this sociocultural solar plexus  chakra, i.e., hurry to control the environment, 0:11:08.720,0:11:17.440 gives rise to social ‘diseases’ such as the ‘rat  race’. And thus, humanity handed over the reins 0:11:17.440,0:11:25.920 of cognition to its collective autonomous mind  instead of a spontaneous collective brain. We know 0:11:25.920,0:11:33.200 that an open solar plexus chakra means renewing  the brain continuously and thus energizing it 0:11:33.200,0:11:41.760 cyclically. Unfortunately for us, since our  sociocultural solar plexus chakra got closed, 0:11:41.760,0:11:50.640 it left the collective autonomous mind stuck at  its aggressive cognitive wants rather than needs. 0:11:50.640,0:11:58.320 These wants individualized personal ownership of  resources used to fulfill genuine social needs 0:11:58.320,0:12:06.640 before. As this personal ownership of resources  assumes a bigger-than-necessary stature, social 0:12:06.640,0:12:15.360 needs start turning into personal wants. Needs are  the realm of the brain while the mind is the abode 0:12:15.360,0:12:23.280 of wants. Thus, they get corrupted and end up in  sociocultural chakras in the hands of a collective 0:12:23.280,0:12:32.880 autonomous mind. After all, human society is just  a collective extension of multiple human bodies. 0:12:32.880,0:12:39.280 And these sociocultural chakras would tend to  block collective human energy flow exactly like 0:12:39.280,0:12:47.840 biological chakras block individual energy flow. Let us now combine the above two analogies, 0:12:47.840,0:12:54.480 i.e. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs  vis-a-vis chakra system + sociocultural 0:12:54.480,0:13:01.280 chakras mirroring individual chakras. When individual energy flow gets blocked 0:13:01.280,0:13:09.600 at the base of the chakra system, it results in a  closed root chakra. Similarly, when the collective 0:13:09.600,0:13:16.640 human energy flow gets blocked at the base of the  chakra equivalent in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, 0:13:16.640,0:13:25.360 it does so at the lowest two levels of social  needs, i.e., physiological and safety needs. 0:13:25.360,0:13:31.520 Same would be true about the deficiency needs  of love and belonging and esteem needs as well. 0:13:32.320,0:13:39.040 It is my contention that we, Homo sapiens,  find ourselves today struggling with an 0:13:39.040,0:13:47.200 imbalance in the mind-brain equilibrium as we  go along Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs from the 0:13:47.200,0:13:53.360 lowest (physiological) deficiency needs to the  highest (transcendence) growth needs. Individuals 0:13:53.360,0:14:01.280 and societies that are stuck in making ends meet,  i.e., meeting their physiological needs, tend to 0:14:01.280,0:14:09.360 operate primarily from the brain. As they ‘climb’  up the Hierarchy and their deficiency needs are 0:14:09.360,0:14:17.280 met, a major shift seems to occur. This is where  the mind starts taking over and the brain’s 0:14:17.280,0:14:23.760 functionality starts getting stunted inflicting  the lower chakras as well, along with the higher 0:14:23.760,0:14:33.840 ones. In other words, needs start yielding to  wants. It is no surprise, then, that most of 0:14:33.840,0:14:41.120 the growth needs are governed by the concerns  of the mind way more than those of the brain. 0:14:41.120,0:14:47.680 Real Needs Overshadowed by Greedy Wants This had its debilitating effect on the 0:14:47.680,0:14:53.600 sociocultural equivalent of sacral  chakra, namely aesthetic needs, 0:14:53.600,0:15:02.480 as well. And it did so by negatively affecting the  quality of sex that humanity was meant to enjoy. 0:15:02.480,0:15:09.600 When sex gets frustrated, it tends to take  refuge in its sublimation through arts in 0:15:09.600,0:15:18.560 creative and aesthetic pursuits. This sublimation  is the handiwork of none other than the mind! 0:15:18.560,0:15:25.040 In the process of sublimation, however, the mind  does lose a little bit of its control as emotions 0:15:25.040,0:15:31.120 give way to passion and sexual frustration  yields to a broader creative perception. 0:15:32.000,0:15:38.560 This works, but only partially, as a therapeutic  process that addresses the aesthetic needs 0:15:38.560,0:15:47.360 in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs at an individual  level. In society, this partial therapy addresses 0:15:47.360,0:15:55.040 this sociocultural sacral chakra in the form of  cinema, poetry and other artistic expressions. 0:15:55.760,0:16:01.600 However, the unaddressed part of this chakra  results in the social disease that we know as 0:16:01.600,0:16:10.160 ‘consumerism’. And we have even given it  a rather ironic name, ‘retail therapy’. 0:16:10.160,0:16:18.320 No wonder slogans like “the more, the better”  appear to provide solace to our frustrations. 0:16:18.320,0:16:25.200 Moving higher along the Hierarchy, the growth  need of self actualization aims at discovering 0:16:25.200,0:16:32.320 one’s inherent talents and developing them  further. It results in achieving one’s full 0:16:32.320,0:16:40.000 potential as far as socially productive soft  skills are concerned. This is synonymous with 0:16:40.000,0:16:47.360 the concerns of the third eye chakra. However,  once corrupted by the mind at a social level, 0:16:47.360,0:16:53.440 it leads to an analogous collective third eye  charka resulting in social ‘diseases’ such as 0:16:53.440,0:17:00.400 ‘professional qualifications’ as a want  that is detached from the original need. 0:17:00.400,0:17:05.600 Transcendence needs are the ultimate that  an individual in a society can cultivate, 0:17:05.600,0:17:13.440 giving oneself to something beyond oneself. It  enables one to create one’s personal heaven for 0:17:13.440,0:17:23.120 oneself. At a social level, it parallels the  sociocultural crown chakra which, when closed, 0:17:23.120,0:17:30.560 leads to the social malaise of ‘acute  insensitivity’. Consequently, opening this 0:17:30.560,0:17:38.320 chakra sets the highest levels of collective  human consciousness. Simultaneously, it sets 0:17:38.320,0:17:46.640 all the lower chakras open as well, automatically  addressing their related sociocultural ailments. 0:17:46.640,0:17:52.400 This has the potential to turn human  life on earth into a collective heaven. 0:17:53.120,0:18:01.440 However, in reality, the collective mind fragments  itself exactly like the individual biological mind 0:18:01.440,0:18:09.440 and, thus, belittles every single real need in  Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and, by extension, 0:18:09.440,0:18:16.240 its analogous sociocultural chakra. When it comes to our collective needs, 0:18:16.240,0:18:22.640 human societies use various ‘currencies’ to enable  exchange of these needs between their individuals 0:18:22.640,0:18:30.640 or groups. It is these currencies that we used to  fulfill real needs which later started assuming 0:18:30.640,0:18:39.120 bigger stature in an individual mind, shifting  the focus from needs to wants. As a result, those 0:18:39.120,0:18:45.280 currencies got corrupted away from their original  purpose and became ends in themselves as opposed 0:18:45.280,0:18:52.880 to serving as mere means toward the ends which  have always remained as those underlying needs. 0:18:52.880,0:18:59.280 These corrupted currencies have led to  several institutions in our societies that, 0:18:59.280,0:19:06.880 I contend, are the physical manifestations  of the underlying sociocultural chakras. 0:19:06.880,0:19:13.520 Within the construct that I have presented above,  we can now look at sociocultural evolution in 0:19:13.520,0:19:20.080 light of genuine needs getting usurped by the  mere wants for their corrupted currencies. 0:19:20.800,0:19:28.240 Thanks for listening to this episode of Skeletal  Leap: A Living Adventure! Homosapiens – Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date! – Podcast Episode 28

HOMOSAPIENS: ULTIMATE GAINS AND LOSSES TO DATE! Welcome back to the 28th episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure! Today’s episode titled “Homosapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date!” will tell you about human achievements vs losses through homo sapiens bipedal evolution. We humans have been extremely successful in achieving an unchallenged control over the planet we live on, something none of the other 8.7 million living species could even dream of. Homo sapiens are ruling the planet at present like dinosaurs once did. As a species, we have made immense progress in creating tools that gave us the power to establish the said control. SKELETAL LEAP, the mind body connection for mind and body healing, is a giant leap that our skeleton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton] can take through the way it postures its joints. I had stumbled upon this miracle many years ago, coincidentally I come up with a new weekly episode every Tuesday morning for miraculous healing enthusiasts to effectively start their weekdays with what they like the most! HOMOSAPIENS: ULTIMATE GAINS AND LOSSES TO DATE! - SHOW NOTES In this thought-provoking episode of Skeletal Leap, titled “Homo Sapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date,” I explore the remarkable yet tumultuous path of human evolution and the consequences of our advancements. Join me as I dive deep into the duality of human achievements versus losses throughout our bipedal evolution. Discover how Homo sapiens have gained unprecedented control over the planet, surpassing the capabilities of our fellow species, yet simultaneously sowing the seeds of our own potential demise. From the dawn of tool-making to the rise of complex societal structures, learn how our superior communication skills and abstract thinking have propelled us forward. However, this journey has not been without its pitfalls; the very myths we created to unite us have also led to fragmentation and conflict. As we stand on the brink of irreversible climate change, I challenge my species to confront the greed and fear that have driven our unsustainable progress. I emphasize the urgent need for a shift in our collective mindset—from competition to cooperation, from a fragmented mind to a unified consciousness. This episode invites you to reflect on our collective responsibility and the power of an empty mind in fostering genuine understanding and action. Can we learn from our past mistakes and pave the way for a sustainable future?  HOMOSAPIENS: ULTIMATE GAINS AND LOSSES TO DATE! - CHAPTERS Chapters: (00:00:01) - Human Accomplies vs Losses HOMOSAPIENS: ULTIMATE GAINS AND LOSSES TO DATE! - VIDEO HOMOSAPIENS: ULTIMATE GAINS AND LOSSES TO DATE! - TRANSCRIPT WITH TIMESTAMPS 0:00:01.200,0:00:06.240 “What to Do Now? Welcome to “Skeletal Leap: 0:00:26.560,0:00:34.400 A Living Adventure”. Skeletal Leap  transforms one’s life into a personal heaven. 0:00:34.400,0:00:36.880 Today’s episode will tell you about human 0:00:36.880,0:00:42.560 achievements vs losses through  homo sapiens bipedal evolution. 0:00:42.560,0:00:48.320 We humans have been extremely successful in  achieving an unchallenged control over the 0:00:48.320,0:00:55.600 planet we live on, something none of the other  8.7 million living species could even dream of. 0:00:56.240,0:01:02.080 Homo sapiens are ruling the planet  at present like dinosaurs once did. 0:01:02.080,0:01:08.240 As a species, we have made immense progress in  creating tools that gave us the power to establish 0:01:08.240,0:01:15.440 the said control. The tools kept getting more and  more sophisticated as did our brain’s ability to 0:01:15.440,0:01:23.520 think in abstraction. We, the sapiens, had  another exclusive advantage at our behest. 0:01:24.240,0:01:29.520 We could communicate much better with one  another through the use of our language that 0:01:29.520,0:01:37.040 was way superior to that of other Homo species.  Hence we were better able to cooperate in groups 0:01:37.040,0:01:43.200 while fighting with our competitors for the  purpose of dominance over them. Neanderthals 0:01:43.200,0:01:48.560 who were physically stronger and other Homo  species could not do it so effectively among 0:01:48.560,0:01:55.600 themselves and slowly went out of existence.  It was then that the Homo sapiens discovered 0:01:55.600,0:02:02.480 the power of the mind in creating mythological  stories, thanks to their superior language. And 0:02:02.480,0:02:11.920 then, they soon started believing in them! As  this happened, it acted as a double-edged sword. 0:02:11.920,0:02:18.480 It started imparting an autonomous status to the  mind as separate from a reviewer of the brain’s 0:02:18.480,0:02:26.800 perception and action. It helped the Homo sapiens,  driven by their fictitious beliefs, to start 0:02:26.800,0:02:34.880 cooperating in bigger and bigger groups to achieve  dominance over the planet as a species. But then, 0:02:34.880,0:02:42.480 humanity didn’t stop over there. It allowed these  fictitious beliefs to turn into a unique kind of 0:02:42.480,0:02:50.480 auto-immune disease, not of the individual but of  society. A disease that we have been dealing with 0:02:50.480,0:02:58.720 the repercussions of, ever since. Wars became the order of the day. 0:02:58.720,0:03:03.600 Marked by the dominance of massive groups  cooperating among themselves in an effort 0:03:03.600,0:03:09.680 to annihilate other massive groups, these  wars paved the path for the competitive 0:03:09.680,0:03:15.440 growth of Homo sapiens’ civilization. Since then, the story of the growth of 0:03:15.440,0:03:22.800 human civilization has remained much the same  to date. That is why and how these mythological 0:03:22.800,0:03:31.120 stories acted as double-edged swords. Though  they created vast cooperating groups furthering 0:03:31.120,0:03:37.040 tremendous growth and development, the  said growth always remained fragmented. 0:03:37.680,0:03:44.160 The groups remained disparate, miserably  failing to operate as one single cooperating 0:03:44.160,0:03:51.280 group of a species called Homo sapiens.  This was the power of our fragmented minds 0:03:51.280,0:03:57.520 following our fragmented beliefs via our  fragmented stories that took dominance 0:03:57.520,0:04:06.320 over the marvels of the spontaneous brains of a  unique species that we, the Homo sapiens, were. 0:04:06.320,0:04:10.560 Nevertheless, the power to think  in abstraction was a great leap in 0:04:10.560,0:04:18.560 the evolution of the human brain. It gave  birth to new disciplines in science, arts, 0:04:18.560,0:04:27.360 technology and commerce. Human culture started  prospering with inventions of digits and letters 0:04:27.360,0:04:33.920 resulting in mathematics to calculate on one  hand and language to communicate on the other. 0:04:34.640,0:04:39.680 Today, we marvel at our own achievements  within such a short span of time, 0:04:39.680,0:04:47.840 evolutionarily speaking. Once we, the Homo  sapiens, started galloping along the track 0:04:47.840,0:04:55.760 of new discoveries and inventions, we never  stopped. It has been too fast an evolution of 0:04:55.760,0:05:03.680 the brain in too short a span of time. Overall,  our brain size has increased 2-3 times within 0:05:03.680,0:05:10.880 the last 3 million years, starting with the  species named Australopithecus. This was a 0:05:10.880,0:05:18.400 group of hominins from which humans are supposed  to have descended. These 3 million years is quite 0:05:18.400,0:05:25.360 a small fraction of time when compared  to the 3 billion years of life on earth. 0:05:25.360,0:05:34.640 And surprisingly, that process of evolution  is still on! And at the same break-neck speed! 0:05:34.640,0:05:39.760 The Tipping Point of Crisis We have almost reached the edge 0:05:39.760,0:05:45.920 of the point of no return from the harmful  effects of human-induced climate change. 0:05:45.920,0:05:51.840 As of today, the two major ice sheets  at Greenland and Antarctica are melting 0:05:51.840,0:05:57.920 speedily. If the greenhouse gases are not  stopped from emitting further, the rise of 0:05:57.920,0:06:04.640 the global sea level is going to cause havoc. If the global temperature ultimately increases 0:06:04.640,0:06:14.160 by 1.5-2oC, the melting of these ice sheets  may become irreversible. Higher rainfall and 0:06:14.160,0:06:20.960 higher flooding events would engulf the northern  hemisphere. It would end up in the extinction 0:06:20.960,0:06:28.960 of quite a few species of plants, insects and  vertebrates. Under extreme weather conditions, 0:06:28.960,0:06:36.400 there are going to be way more spontaneous forest  fires. And we have already started seeing all 0:06:36.400,0:06:42.640 these effects in just the past few years! As David Attenborough said, 0:06:42.640,0:06:49.280 “What we do in the next twenty years will  determine the future of all life on earth.” 0:06:49.280,0:07:00.080 Who is to be blamed for it? Our mind, our society and our culture! Who else? 0:07:00.080,0:07:08.960 Our mind is greedy. It is greedy because it is  fearful. We, as a species, wanted to progress 0:07:08.960,0:07:17.440 as much as we could, as fast as we could. We overexploited our planet’s resources, 0:07:17.440,0:07:25.440 without giving it back what we took from  it. Earth wants to take everything back now. 0:07:25.440,0:07:32.800 Isn’t it a lesson for our mind? Isn’t it a lesson  for the way we have structured our society? 0:07:32.800,0:07:39.520 Isn’t it an indictment of the value system  that we have erected human culture on? 0:07:39.520,0:07:45.200 Where did we go wrong? What  was our earliest mistake? 0:07:45.200,0:07:51.040 Remember I had said that the mind gets  subjectively attached to its faulty apprehensions 0:07:51.040,0:08:01.040 of threat to life, in Episode 20? It overrates the  instincts of self-preservation. On the other hand, 0:08:01.040,0:08:10.000 it suppresses and even represses death instincts.  That is how it distorts reality and corrupts human 0:08:10.000,0:08:18.320 action. It is because all death instincts  including curiosity, interaction, adventure, 0:08:18.320,0:08:27.120 love and sex turn us passionate, insightful  and people-centric. On the other hand, 0:08:27.120,0:08:34.240 self-preservative instincts turn us stupidly  emotional, greedy and self-centric more than 0:08:34.240,0:08:41.920 people-centric.  They want growth as much and  as fast as possible whereas death instincts 0:08:41.920,0:08:50.480 are way saner in their approach. In its greed,  humanity sided with the fastest possible rather 0:08:50.480,0:08:57.280 than sustainable growth that is in tune with all  of nature and, therefore, would have given rise to 0:08:57.280,0:09:04.560 a different paradigm of ‘quality’ of life. That is why and how the brain is way more 0:09:04.560,0:09:13.360 intelligent than the mind. In fact, the mind  can very easily go stupid. Brain never does. 0:09:13.360,0:09:22.800 That was our very first mistake. In fact, that  was our Original Sin, if any. We gave the entire 0:09:22.800,0:09:32.000 reigns of comprehending psychedelic (incognizable)  reality in a cognizable way to the mind. Reality 0:09:32.000,0:09:40.400 is right, only its cognition is not. We shouldn’t  have made the mind an autonomous entity having the 0:09:40.400,0:09:47.920 power to comprehend reality anyway it likes. It  should have been kept subservient to the brain, 0:09:47.920,0:09:55.680 the real master of perception and action. Had we managed to do that, psychology as an 0:09:55.680,0:10:01.040 autonomous science would have been redundant.  It would rather have been a subordinate 0:10:01.040,0:10:08.480 discipline under physiology or neurology. Even with our bloated, fragmented minds, 0:10:08.480,0:10:16.480 we can still get rid of our old prejudices  for/ against fragmented groups that are busy 0:10:16.480,0:10:24.160 cooperating within themselves in order to compete  with or even annihilate others within our own 0:10:24.160,0:10:33.440 species. Today, we can give credit to our expanded  awareness of undivided humanity and stop believing 0:10:33.440,0:10:40.560 in the fragmenting stories created by our  fragmented minds all those thousands of years ago! 0:10:40.560,0:10:47.920 I know I am asking for a big, huge lot. I am  asking for a paradigm shift in our comprehension 0:10:47.920,0:10:55.840 of reality. For this to be possible, the mind  needs to comprehend reality as per the neural 0:10:55.840,0:11:02.640 dictates of the nervous system. It needs to  follow commands of the brain and its entire 0:11:02.640,0:11:10.400 nervous system without trying to affect them  at all. As it right now is, the mind limits 0:11:10.400,0:11:18.160 the efficiency of the brain by corrupting its  perception and consequent spontaneous action. 0:11:18.160,0:11:23.520 That is how, in its greed, it gave a signal  to the best of the human brains to make 0:11:23.520,0:11:32.400 so-called progress as fast as possible.  And look where that has brought us today! 0:11:32.400,0:11:37.440 What to Do Now? Today, if we are humble enough to learn 0:11:37.440,0:11:43.440 our lesson, we need to take immediate action. How do we do that? 0:11:44.080,0:11:49.280 We simply need to empty our mind of all the  garbage it has collected in the past thousands of 0:11:49.280,0:12:00.800 years. All its beliefs, all its attachments, all  its prejudices, its morals and emotions! It needs 0:12:00.800,0:12:08.480 to be left alone with what it is there for, i.e.,  the subjective cognition of instinctual awareness. 0:12:09.200,0:12:14.400 It should be left alone as the sense  of ‘I’ with just the set of instincts 0:12:14.400,0:12:21.360 human nature has already provided us with. We can afford to do it today although we could 0:12:21.360,0:12:28.720 never have done so till date without risking  our very existence on the planet. Right now, 0:12:28.720,0:12:34.480 no other species is left to claim  its dominance on the planet. We don’t 0:12:34.480,0:12:41.120 need to compete with our siblings any more. Competition has already played its commendable 0:12:41.120,0:12:49.040 role in safeguarding us up to this point of time.  But if it continues, it will turn against our own 0:12:49.040,0:12:59.440 self, as a species. Where else does this happen?  In our own bodies. Exactly like the immunity in 0:12:59.440,0:13:06.560 our bodies that competes against foreign entities  to protect us sometimes turns on itself leading 0:13:06.560,0:13:14.320 to autoimmune diseases, our intra-species  competition is threatening to wipe us out. 0:13:14.320,0:13:19.360 What we need today is a world-wide  cooperation or else, we will run 0:13:19.360,0:13:26.800 our species out of existence. It will be nothing  less than a suicidal act on our collective part. 0:13:27.680,0:13:36.400 Cooperation over competition! Brain over  mind!! Even better, an empty mind!!! 0:13:36.400,0:13:41.120 Okay, what does the mind  do when it is left emptied? 0:13:41.120,0:13:47.440 It gives a cognizable meaning to the psychedelic  perceptions and spontaneous actions of the brain 0:13:47.440,0:13:54.240 without generating beliefs around them. We need to go agnostic in the truest sense 0:13:54.240,0:14:02.160 of the word. When that happens, we stop living in  our past and/ or future with emotional attachments 0:14:02.160,0:14:10.320 to them. Passion replaces emotions. We are able  to centrally fixate our passionate attention on 0:14:10.320,0:14:16.720 the perception and action of the very present  moment. Central fixation makes it possible for 0:14:16.720,0:14:23.520 the brain to spontaneously think the best without  being distorted by emotional thoughts of the mind. 0:14:24.160,0:14:32.160 When this happens, action is the next spontaneous  step taken by the brain instantaneously. Even 0:14:32.160,0:14:36.640 artificial intelligence (AI) will never  be able to match the human brain since, 0:14:36.640,0:14:42.880 even at its best, it can only  achieve speed but never spontaneity. 0:14:42.880,0:14:52.400 In my first language named Hindi, past is named  ‘bhoot’ meaning ’ghost’. I find that hilarious. 0:14:53.360,0:15:00.560 It seems to me to be the best description of  the past. Past is dead and we keep emotionally 0:15:00.560,0:15:07.520 clinging to its ghost or to its cousin,  i.e., its own projection as the future. 0:15:07.520,0:15:14.720 These ghosts masquerading as thoughts possess  our brain and limit or distort its capability 0:15:14.720,0:15:22.480 to spontaneously think without any deterrents.  Thinking is the handiwork of the brain. Chewing 0:15:22.480,0:15:27.760 the cud of thoughts is the handiwork of  the mind. Thinking and chewing the cud of 0:15:27.760,0:15:34.560 thoughts are two diametrically opposite  actions. Let us start thinking as real 0:15:34.560,0:15:41.200 intelligent organisms. Let us stop chewing  the cud of thoughts as stupid dead ghosts. 0:15:41.920,0:15:47.120 Let us tackle these impending emergencies of  human-induced climate change in an absolutely 0:15:47.120,0:15:54.320 intelligent way…while we still can! And that  absolute intelligence can only arise from an 0:15:54.320,0:15:56.800 empty mind. But what’s 0:15:56.800,0:16:03.760 the modus operandi of emptying the mind? We have already discussed this in all its 0:16:03.760,0:16:13.520 conceptual details as Skeletal Leap in Episode 26  and Episode 27. However, that is at the level of 0:16:13.520,0:16:22.640 an individual. It is my contention that a similar  approach can be extended to society, as a whole. 0:16:22.640,0:16:28.320 Thanks for listening to this episode  of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure! 0:16:28.320,0:16:35.360 In the next episode, I will tell you about  sociocultural chakras on the lines of Maslow’s 0:16:35.360,0:16:43.680 hierarchy of needs turning to wants and thus  affecting sociocultural evolution negatively. 0:16:43.680,0:16:47.600 Be a part of Skeletal Leap Community! Doing Meditation 15 Minutes Vs Having A Meditative Mind 24 by 7! – Podcast Episode 27

DOING MEDITATION 15 MINUTES VS HAVING A MEDITATIVE MIND 24 BY 7! - INTRODUCTION Welcome back to the 27th episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure! Today’s episode titled “Doing Meditation 15 Minutes Vs Having A Meditative Mind 24 by 7!” will tell you about skeletal meditation emptying the mind and then keeping it empty for kundalini awakening. “Breathing is the highest form of meditation.” That is not me talking but a quote often attributed to different eminent authors or philosophers. In fact, meditation has been revered as a highly esteemed practice in human culture ever since human society took shape with sociocultural evolution. SKELETAL LEAP, the mind body connection for mind and body healing, is a giant leap that our skeleton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton] can take through the way it postures its joints. I had stumbled upon this miracle many years ago, coincidentally DOING MEDITATION 15 MINUTES VS HAVING A MEDITATIVE MIND 24 BY 7! - SHOW NOTES In this thought-provoking episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure, titled “Doing Meditation 15 Minutes Vs Having A Meditative Mind 24 by 7!”, I explore the profound connection between mindfulness and daily activities.  Discover how to transform mundane tasks into opportunities for meditation by embracing the present moment with joy and awareness. I dive deep into the essence of skeletal meditation, emphasizing the importance of emptying the mind to facilitate Kundalini awakening. I further highlight that true meditation transcends the conventional notion of sitting in silence; it can be integrated into every action we undertake. Citing a survey from the National Institutes of Health, I reveal that many people meditate for wellness, energy, and improved concentration. Yet, I question the effectiveness of traditional meditation practices that often lead to mental lethargy rather than genuine relaxation. Through engaging anecdotes and insightful reflections, this episode challenges you to rethink your approach to meditation. I illustrate how savoring each moment—whether eating, talking, or even experiencing discomfort—can lead to a deeper sense of awareness and fulfillment. Join me as I guide you on a journey to make mindfulness a natural part of your life, encouraging you to embrace the joy of living in the present and transforming every action into a meditative experience. It is possible when we keep enjoying what we are 0:00:08.640,0:00:24.800 doing every single moment of it. My name is Laadi Ojas. Welcome 0:00:24.800,0:00:34.080 to “Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure”. Skeletal  Leap transforms one’s life into a personal heaven. 0:00:34.080,0:00:39.120 Today’s episode will tell you about  skeletal meditation emptying the mind 0:00:39.120,0:00:43.680 and then keeping it empty for kundalini awakening. 0:00:43.680,0:00:50.640 “Breathing is the highest form of meditation.”  That is not me talking but a quote often 0:00:50.640,0:00:57.840 attributed to different eminent authors or  philosophers. In fact, meditation has been 0:00:57.840,0:01:04.320 revered as a highly esteemed practice in human  culture ever since human society took shape with 0:01:04.320,0:01:10.720 sociocultural evolution. Lately, though, it  has almost become a fashionable trend among 0:01:10.720,0:01:18.560 the elite for their wellness concerns. On the  other hand, people with a deep faith in religion 0:01:18.560,0:01:26.000 follow it as a religious or spiritual practice.  Thirdly, people with different kinds of lifestyle 0:01:26.000,0:01:34.080 diseases are also advised to sit in meditation by  none less than their own healthcare specialists. 0:01:34.080,0:01:39.120 The modus operandi of such meditations  has mostly been to sit in an erect 0:01:39.120,0:01:45.760 posture with eyes closed for a certain  duration of time. During this period, 0:01:45.760,0:01:51.360 the meditators are supposed to do  something specific with their mind. 0:01:51.360,0:01:58.720 What that something is widely varies depending  on what they want it to achieve for them. 0:01:58.720,0:02:04.240 It looks like people have such great faith in  meditation that they feel it can provide them 0:02:04.240,0:02:10.560 with all kinds of things they seek. Why People Meditate 0:02:10.560,0:02:16.320 A survey published by the National Institutes  of Health in America on their National Library 0:02:16.320,0:02:24.800 of Medicine practicing revealed that 76.2% of  common people use meditation for general wellness 0:02:24.800,0:02:34.960 or disease prevention, 60% to improve their energy  and 50% to improve their memory or concentration. 0:02:34.960,0:02:40.640 Hence people’s priorities for what they  expect out of meditation the most seem to be: 0:02:41.760,0:02:48.720 Health and wellness | 2. Energy  | 3. Memory or concentration 0:02:49.360,0:02:57.040 How do we think meditation would be able to do  what we want it to do for us? And, that too, just 0:02:57.040,0:03:04.320 by doing it for an hour a day? For the remaining  twenty-three hours, we are again going back to our 0:03:04.320,0:03:10.880 unhealthy state of mind-body disposition. Sitting for meditation for an hour or so 0:03:10.880,0:03:16.000 has just become a fashion to satisfy  ourselves of doing something good. 0:03:16.720,0:03:23.600 It rather strengthens our ego further. How People Meditate 0:03:23.600,0:03:30.560 Also, what exactly do we do when we sit in  meditation with our eyes closed? Here are a 0:03:30.560,0:03:35.680 few things that people are guided  to do in the name of meditation: 0:03:35.680,0:03:41.200 Chanting mantras or affirmations  | Counting beads | Counting 0:03:41.200,0:03:48.240 breaths | Concentrating on a  thought | Imagining a sequence 0:03:48.240,0:03:54.800 The above kinds of practices just numb  the mind, sending it to a kind of stupor. 0:03:54.800,0:04:01.600 It makes one feel as if one has become  relaxed. But that is not what relaxation 0:04:01.600,0:04:12.080 means. A lethargic mind is not a relaxed mind. Mindfulness meditation, at least at face value, 0:04:12.080,0:04:19.200 seems to be a better alternative for relaxing  the mind. Mindfulness means focusing the mind 0:04:19.200,0:04:26.080 on being an aware witness to whatever comes  to it from moment to moment. People sit down 0:04:26.080,0:04:31.520 in a cross-legged posture and start  making all kinds of efforts to become 0:04:31.520,0:04:40.000 aware of their minds’ dynamic content. But mind, as such, is a fidgety child! 0:04:40.000,0:04:48.640 It doesn’t pay much heed to our efforts. In fact,  it loves to keep jumping from one casual thought, 0:04:48.640,0:04:57.040 thing or action to another, like a monkey. We try to witness it in its movement with 0:04:57.040,0:05:05.440 our total awareness. It doesn’t say no.  But then, it stealthily slips away from 0:05:05.440,0:05:13.280 under our attentive control to some of its  other unaware, casual concerns. We always 0:05:13.280,0:05:21.520 need to keep bringing our awareness back on track. But the problem is it gets bored over there in its 0:05:21.520,0:05:29.120 pursuit of awareness. The very nature of the mind  is to keep jumping from one concern to another, 0:05:29.120,0:05:36.800 unaware. And the reason is that it is  full of concerns, not only consciously 0:05:36.800,0:05:44.080 but unconsciously as well. It tends to keep  scanning everything within its consciousness 0:05:44.080,0:05:51.440 and even underneath it, unconsciously. It is this point alone that mindfulness, 0:05:51.440,0:05:58.080 at its best, can take us to. We need to  continuously keep exerting the pressure 0:05:58.080,0:06:05.360 of our determination on the mind to tame  it into being aware the way we want it to. 0:06:05.360,0:06:10.720 But then, who is this ‘we’ who is making  all this Herculean effort to tame our 0:06:10.720,0:06:18.880 mind? Isn’t it a part of our mind alone? Anyway, even if we are able to relax the 0:06:18.880,0:06:26.160 mind for an hour or so, it is not of much  use. We are again going to fall back into 0:06:26.160,0:06:34.080 the same unhealthy disposition. How do  we expect it to do permanent good to us? 0:06:34.080,0:06:40.880 On top of it, the very idea of relaxing  the mind is contradictory in itself. 0:06:41.760,0:06:48.800 Mind in itself is the name of an entity full  of contradictions, thereby fragmenting itself, 0:06:48.800,0:06:57.920 and hence, fragmenting our ‘self’. As we already  saw in Episode 20, those fragmented parts keep 0:06:57.920,0:07:07.040 fighting with one another, making a noise. That is  what is called a chattering mind. The techniques 0:07:07.040,0:07:15.200 listed above try to merely calm it down by  turning it numb or exerting pressure on it. 0:07:15.200,0:07:22.720 But the only rational way to stop its chattering  is emptying its content. That is what we call 0:07:22.720,0:07:30.080 emptying the mind. We have already discussed  it in its operative details in the Episode 0:07:30.080,0:07:39.520 26. And that is what meditation must  do if it is to do any real good to us. 0:07:39.520,0:07:46.320 At the same time, any such ‘real good’ should  preferably not be limited to any specific duration 0:07:46.320,0:07:55.120 of time. It should happen twenty-four hours a  day, three-hundred and sixty-five days a year. 0:07:55.120,0:08:01.360 That simply means we should try to replace sitting  for meditation with being meditative all day long. 0:08:02.240,0:08:07.360 And that can only be done by  making it our first nature. 0:08:07.360,0:08:14.880 Meditating Vs Being Meditative Once a truly meditative state is reached, 0:08:14.880,0:08:21.600 we no more need to keep sitting for meditation  everyday. We simply need to live in a meditative 0:08:21.600,0:08:28.400 state all day long. Once we have learnt  how to do this, we need to say goodbye 0:08:28.400,0:08:34.800 to the idea of ‘sitting in meditation’. We need to empty our mind with every single 0:08:34.800,0:08:42.400 breath exhaled while our chakras are open. This  will mean that we can be meditative even while 0:08:42.400,0:08:50.880 talking to someone, smoking a cigarette, sipping  our wine or while making love, for that matter. 0:08:50.880,0:08:59.920 Turning Every Action into Meditation How can we turn whatever we do into a meditation? 0:08:59.920,0:09:06.640 It is possible when we keep enjoying what we are  doing every single moment of it. It makes us fully 0:09:06.640,0:09:14.160 involved into the action with total awareness as  opposed to getting indulged into it habitually. 0:09:14.160,0:09:20.080 Let us suppose that we are doing something  that we like doing a lot. There is every 0:09:20.080,0:09:27.040 risk of getting indulged into its action by  emotionally getting attached to it. Let’s 0:09:27.040,0:09:34.640 take an example of eating our most favorite dish.  Even before we start tasting it, we have already 0:09:34.640,0:09:42.000 conditioned our taste glands to taste something  familiar that we like. And when we taste it, 0:09:42.000,0:09:51.040 we don’t really taste it right now, we just taste  our past perception of it. We live our mental past 0:09:51.040,0:09:58.240 while chronologically being in the present. That  is how the mind affects the brain’s perception by 0:09:58.240,0:10:07.520 falsely limiting it to a perception of the past. Now let us play a game. In the same scenario, 0:10:07.520,0:10:14.960 let us pretend we have lost our memory. We no  more remember that it is our favorite dish nor 0:10:14.960,0:10:23.920 its taste. It depends on how good an actor we  are, being our own audience at the same time. 0:10:23.920,0:10:31.440 Let us start eating it now. We would effectively  be tasting it for the first time in our life. 0:10:31.440,0:10:37.520 If we are unable to feign loss of memory,  let us take our first bite very slowly, 0:10:37.520,0:10:44.560 tasting it in its totality. This, too, will  effectively result in the feeling that we 0:10:44.560,0:10:51.520 are tasting it for the first time in our life. Do you see a parallel between the two actions, 0:10:51.520,0:10:58.800 i.e, pretending to have lost one’s memory and  performing an action slowly in its totality? The 0:10:58.800,0:11:07.120 result is the same in both scenarios. When we do  something slow enough to do it in its totality, we 0:11:07.120,0:11:15.200 have already kept our emotional mind aside which  is akin to keeping our emotional memory aside. 0:11:15.200,0:11:21.360 And we taste the dish like we are tasting  it for the first time in our life. This 0:11:21.360,0:11:29.680 amounts to tasting it in the present moment.  Liking or not liking it is no more relevant. 0:11:30.400,0:11:38.880 What matters is tasting it afresh with all  its passion and joy or even pain (if so ever). 0:11:38.880,0:11:46.000 Let’s repeat the same experiment, this time  with a dish that we dislike the most. As we 0:11:46.000,0:11:52.960 slowly taste it afresh in its totality,  disliking it is not relevant anymore. 0:11:53.680,0:12:02.320 What matters is tasting it afresh with all  its passion and pain or even joy (if so ever). 0:12:02.320,0:12:08.960 When we perform an action slowly enough to be  able to do it in its totality, we are no more 0:12:08.960,0:12:18.000 governed by our mind. It is our nervous system  that takes over. And our nervous system is way 0:12:18.000,0:12:27.200 more intelligent than our mind. It does things  with passion and joy or even pain. All emotional 0:12:27.200,0:12:35.440 strings attached to the past experiences of liking  or disliking simply vanish into thin air. And 0:12:35.440,0:12:43.920 the nervous system then performs actions without  ever emotionally liking or disliking them at all. 0:12:43.920,0:12:49.600 I don’t mean to say that slowness of an action  is the only thing that leads to its totality. 0:12:50.720,0:12:58.400 At times, it is just the opposite that works.  For example, running to save a child from 0:12:58.400,0:13:06.240 being overrun by a speeding car works in its  totality only when done miraculously fast. 0:13:06.240,0:13:12.320 However, these same types of slow or fast  actions, when non-meditative, are either 0:13:12.320,0:13:20.800 lethargic or impulsive, performing those actions  either extra-slow or extra-fast. That is when we 0:13:20.800,0:13:27.520 call them mental lethargy or mental hurry.  The key difference is that when the brain 0:13:27.520,0:13:34.560 is in charge in an independent capacity, which  is what I’m calling the truly meditative state, 0:13:34.560,0:13:42.880 the speed of the action turns optimum; it is  neither extra-slow nor extra-fast. The same 0:13:42.880,0:13:49.040 happens to the quality of the action as well. Mental lethargy and mental hurry as 0:13:49.040,0:13:55.520 anti-meditative symptoms were never  as serious as they have become today. 0:13:55.520,0:14:01.280 The two are solely responsible for  human actions being non-meditative. 0:14:01.280,0:14:07.920 It doesn’t have to be that way because, as we just  saw above, being meditative all through the day, 0:14:07.920,0:14:15.600 in whatever we do, is no rocket science. And when we enter that meditative state, we no 0:14:15.600,0:14:24.720 longer need to ‘sit’ in time-limited meditation.  The very things we do become meditative. The mind 0:14:24.720,0:14:30.080 no longer controls the brain and is restricted  to play the role that it has been designed to 0:14:30.080,0:14:39.600 perform. When the brain performs an action in its  totality, it does register it in its memory cells. 0:14:39.600,0:14:46.480 But that memory is not accessible to the mind. That is how the mind gets trained to remain 0:14:46.480,0:14:52.960 empty and keep doing its job of  comprehending reality quietly. 0:14:52.960,0:14:59.760 A meditative action full of joy performed in  its totality with passion leaves no desire 0:14:59.760,0:15:08.480 for recreating it in the future. Similarly, a  meditative action, even if loaded with pain, 0:15:08.480,0:15:15.520 performed in its totality with passion leaves  no anxiety of avoiding it in the future, 0:15:15.520,0:15:22.000 regardless of whether that need to avoid pain  is based on the brain’s objective memory rather 0:15:22.000,0:15:29.600 than the mind’s emotional memory. When similar  situations ever arise in the future, they become 0:15:29.600,0:15:38.560 entirely new actions performed afresh right then.  In both cases, no conditioning of the mind occurs, 0:15:38.560,0:15:46.880 thus always keeping it empty. We are only left  with an objective memory of the joy or the pain 0:15:46.880,0:15:53.920 which our brain remembers along with all the  other details of the said actions spontaneously. 0:15:53.920,0:15:59.360 But old habits die hard. Our already conditioned minds 0:15:59.360,0:16:06.480 pose a tough challenge to being emptied out in  the beginning. For example, when we go out in 0:16:06.480,0:16:13.440 the scorching sun in a hot climate, our mind  contracts our facial muscles. That is how it 0:16:13.440,0:16:19.760 may turn into an attack of tension headache for  a certain duration of time. The same happens 0:16:19.760,0:16:28.720 in a snowy blizzard in a cold climate. All these  are conditioned reactions of a conditioned mind. 0:16:28.720,0:16:35.280 Let’s take another example to address this  problem. Suppose we got an attack of tension 0:16:35.280,0:16:44.480 headache. When it occurs, we generally tend to  avoid it. But it keeps forcing its pain not only 0:16:44.480,0:16:51.280 in our head but also on our psyche.     That is how trying to avoid it doubles 0:16:51.280,0:16:56.320 its uneasiness on our system. The meditative way to deal with 0:16:56.320,0:17:06.320 it is to stop trying to avoid it. Let us rather  accept it by sensing it in its totality. That is 0:17:06.320,0:17:12.880 what people never do in general. What happens next? 0:17:12.880,0:17:18.320 As soon as the mind is sidelined by such  emotional acceptance, the brain takes 0:17:18.320,0:17:26.960 the charge. We are left with sensing the said  action in its totality with passion and pain. 0:17:26.960,0:17:33.680 The nervous system swiftly assesses something  wrong in the system. It also recognizes the 0:17:33.680,0:17:40.080 source of the pain in the muscles of the head  being pulled down and tucked in. As soon as the 0:17:40.080,0:17:46.480 neural signals direct the contracted muscles  to relax, pain vanishes leaving our senses 0:17:46.480,0:17:54.880 with passion and joy instead of passion and pain. The mind remains empty until it gets afflicted by 0:17:54.880,0:18:01.840 another habitual pattern of its conditionings. This way, through being meditative all along, 0:18:01.840,0:18:07.520 we can go on emptying our mind  of its conditionings one by one. 0:18:07.520,0:18:14.400 Emptying Mind And Then Keeping It Empty But as we have seen earlier, there is a 0:18:14.400,0:18:22.560 much better way out. That way is through opening  all the chakras via skeletal re-posturing and then 0:18:22.560,0:18:30.000 addressing the extended exhalation of breath.  The said impeccable procedure infuses every 0:18:30.000,0:18:37.760 single moment with passion and joy, with action  or without it. That is because breathing becomes 0:18:37.760,0:18:45.360 an effortless action turning all other actions  meditative as well, as and when they take place. 0:18:45.360,0:18:48.960 The procedure of Skeletal Leap  rewards us with a surge of 0:18:48.960,0:18:56.560 inexplicable joy with every single breath. Every single extended exhalation rejuvenates 0:18:56.560,0:19:01.440 the entire nervous system by keeping  the mind emptied for its duration. 0:19:02.160,0:19:09.760 Skeletal Leap has the power to enable us, the  Homo sapiens, for our next evolutionary leap. 0:19:09.760,0:19:16.720 Thanks for listening to this episode of Skeletal  Leap: A Living Adventure!
