Sunday Homilies with the Redemptorists
On the Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer, Father Siktus reflects on the heart of the Redemptorist mission: “With Him, there is plentiful redemption.” Explaining the meaning of CSsR and the congregation’s motto, he reminds us that God’s redeeming love is abundant, freely offered to every person, regardless of their past or unworthiness. Drawing from St Paul’s teaching, Father Siktus contrasts Adam and Christ: through Adam came sin and death, but through Jesus come grace, life, and the hope of salvation. In the Gospel, Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus reveals the Father’s greatest gift: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.” Through the Cross, Christ opens the way to eternal life for all who believe in Him. Quoting St Alphonsus Liguori, Father Siktus describes God’s love as “crazy with love”- a love that never gives up, always forgives, and continually welcomes us home. As recipients of this abundant redemption, we are invited to become instruments of that same compassionate, forgiving, and life-giving love to everyone we encounter. - Sunday Homily by Fr.
