Podimo is looking to enhance the capabilities of its podcast app by better understanding its content catalogue as well as its users, in order to provide a truly personalized and engaging experience, both for the podcast listeners and creators.
The Senior Data Scientist will work as part of a Data team gathering expertise from data engineers, scientists and business analysts. The Data team works closely with the Product and Tech teams to create the synergies needed to develop great data-driven products. More particularly, the Senior Data Scientist will develop data products for the different Podimo apps with the purpose to enhance the user engagement in Podimo’s content. Particularly, working with audio content will require a solid knowledge in Natural Language processing. App features such as the “Daily Feed” and podcast “Discovery” are designed to drive the users towards the content that is the most relevant for them in a timely manner. These features will greatly benefit from NLP technologies to better understand, classify and recommend content.
As Senior Data Scientist, you will have full responsibility for developing leading edge algorithms to improve the search and discovery capabilities across the podcast catalogue, as well as features to improve the user experience. More generally, he will help shaping the best user experience by understanding the dynamics behind the user journey and translating these insights into actions for the different parts of the business.
The candidate should be highly independent, self-driven and solution oriented, being able to work independently and as part of a team.
Develop AI-based products for the user app, podcaster app and for the different parts of the business.
Product owner role for various product development related to the ecosystem of the apps.
Thrive to work with the Data, Tech and Product teams to create great products.
As part of the Data team, creating actionable insights to help the business better understand and service its customers.
Continuously developing your own competences, contributing to building a world-class Data Science organization within Podimo.
The ideal candidate holds an MSc or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics etc.
3-5 years of hands-on experience as a machine learning practitioner.
Required expert knowledge in Natural Language Processing (NLP), such as Speech-to-Text, Topic Modeling, Search, etc.
Hands-on experience with NLP and Deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras, Pytorch, Spacy, NLTK, Polyglot, Gensim etc.
Solid experience in Python.
Good theoretical and practical knowledge of the modern data science technology stack (Spark, Hadoop, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, Git, Kafka, Kubernetes, etc.).
Hands on experience with most common databases (MySQL, Elastic Search, Cassandra, etc.).
Good data manipulation skills required including cleaning and managing data.
Experience with data visualization tools and packages (Plotly, Seaborn, JS D3 etc.).
A strong sense of connecting technical work to business impacts.
Product-oriented mindset, i.e. the ability to identify potential use cases to create value for our users and podcasters.
Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques and technologies
Good English communication skills.
