After initially turning down an opportunity to pastor the church, Doug (whose roots at EV Free go back nearly 100 years), finally accepts the call. The story of how he and his wife, Connie, decided to take the pastorate here is both inspiring and thoughtful. God's hand in preparing the couple for the decades of ministry to come is evident, as Doug takes us back to the 1980s in Pico Union.
