Mufti Abdul Rahman Waheed is an American Islamic scholar, educator, and jurist known for his leadership at Michigan Islamic Institute and Miftaah Institute. Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, he began memorizing the Qur’an at a young age and completed the full memorization early in life. Driven by a deep love for sacred knowledge, he enrolled in a seven-year Shariah program and graduated by the age of 18. Eager to advance his understanding of Islamic law, Mufti Abdul Rahman pursued further studies in Pakistan. There, he completed a two-year Iftaa program specializing in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and was certified to issue legal verdicts (fatwas). His training combines rigorous traditional scholarship with practical, real-world application. Currently, he serves as a full-time instructor and principal at Michigan Islamic Institute, a key partner of Miftaah Institute. He teaches advanced subjects such as Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), Hadith studies, Islamic legal theory, and ethics. Beyond the classroom, he is widely known for his lectures on Islamic history, offering insights into the lived experiences of Muslims across centuries. Mufti Abdul Rahman Waheed continues to influence students and communities across North America, blending academic depth with a warm, accessible teaching style grounded in prophetic values.
