S5 Ep 13 – Music Festivals

Hello, and welcome to Adventures with Meg. I am your host, Meg, and I am still feeling a little blah. So, I may not be as end as energetic as I usually am. Um, on today’s episode, we’re going to talk about music festivals and? Yeah, that’s what we’re gonna talk about today.
Um, I went to Blues Fest on the weekend that just passed. Um, I saw. We were sharks, Daughtry, and Papa Roach. Um, I’ve never heard of. We were sharks before. Um, this past Saturday. However, I am. Very much interested in learning about them. They’re a local Ottawa group. Um, I have them up on my laptop. Um, so, yeah, they’re a group from Ottawa. They do like, like, an alternative group, um. And they’ve been around since 2011, which is really cool, um. And of course, there’s Daughtry. Um. Oh gosh. I want to say he’s like, been around since, like? I, I don’t remember. I think like 2006, when he was on, um. And I’ll show anyways. Either way, love him. Um. And of course, Papa Roach. Been around since like 1993. Um, I’m like it. It was an amazing show.
Um, we were sharks was like, really good at getting everyone kind of in a mood to. Listen to some rock. There is some of their own music. Um, well, not they. Yeah, they sing all of their music. Um, they were getting us really kind of hyped. And then, uh, Daughtry came out, and I know a little bit more Daughtry music than I do. Papa Roach. Mostly Because it got recommended in my, In my automatic playlist that YouTube music makes.
Um, because I’ve been going down like a rock, yeah, Rock classic rock alternative music mood lately, so it’s just been kind of going in, and so I got a little bit more Daughtry in my. Music genres lately, um, and Papa Roach. I got into it, thinking I was like. Oh 13 or 14. Like, I was kind of younger, but I just haven’t listened to them a whole lot. I listened to more of the classics, so I got to hear some of their newer stuff, and they did, like, a little bit of covers at one point throughout the music, the towards the end of the concert, and then they ended, of course, with um Oh my gosh, the song, what I’m saying? Hold on a sec. I have to look it up. Um. Okay, I cannot remember the song for the life of me, but? They’re, they’re really known for Last Resort. Um, so like they ended with Last Resort, which was amazing, um. Way better life than in, um. On record and? They also mentioned, um. At the juring towards the end of the concert, that Papa Roach is now like a separated from. There any, any, uh, record Studios, so they are fully on their own. So, um. If you want to support them, you have to go to, like their Spotify, wherever they are. And, like, that’s how they’re going to make money from there, but like 10 out of 10 recommend to see Papa Roach, um, I honestly enjoyed more of the Daughtry.
Um, only. I think that’s partially because I listen to more of the music from Daughtry. Um, but I also I. There’s something about Daughtry that I just really, really like. I don’t know man. But. Fabulous! I highly recommend. Um, the festival that I went to was Blues Fest. Ottawa, Ontario. And they used to be blues, of course. But now they have, like, rock. There’s pop. There’s. They tended to. From what I’ve seen, put more of similar bands together on a similar day. Or at least like on, like a stage. That’s how. It seems to me I could be wrong. I don’t know a whole lot. This is my first year, actually going. I’m more or less, like, heard of it, or like I was living there for a bit. So, like I would, I knew it was happening because the crowds were really big in Ottawa. Like it, just?
It was really easy to tell, but um, I enjoyed it so much. I had so much fun, um, I. Thought I was going to lose my voice at one point. Um, I didn’t, but I thought I genuinely was, um, I’m really thankful. I brought earplugs because. My poor ears. Would have hurt. Um. The only other concert I’ve been to. Has really well the last concert I’ve been to. Sorry, was One Direction in 2015, right before, um, Zane. Left, uh, Zane left, and it was announced. So, for me, this was like, really big. I’ve never really been to any concerts since then. I love music. I listen to a whole bunch of different music, but I just have never actually been to a concert and for. $80, uh, for the ticket? Um, which was it on sale a while ago? Um, I was able to see three people. Like three groups, and it was a fantastic deal.
Um. I’d like to see we were sharks again. They are really nice, um. Like? They’re Canadian as well, which I really like to help. Follow any Canadian artists. If as long as I like their music, I’d like to kind of promote more the Canadians. To be honest, I feel like it’s kind of just nicer, um. But yeah, that is, that is what I have for you. So, if you get a chance, uh, you could listen to. Sorry, let me rephrase that if you like, like alternative rock. Anything like that, or you want to listen to a Canadian group. I highly recommend we were sharks. Um. There, they have a lovely website, uh. Wewersharks.com. Um, they have a YouTube channel and their Instagram is at. We were sharks band. Um, if you’re looking for them. Um, if you don’t know who Daughtry is. Um. She’s a American. A singer from American Idol. Um, the official. Uh, website is daughtryofficial.com. Um and. You can. Find him on? Youtube, YouTube music, Apple music, Amazon music. Um. He’s everywhere, basically, and of course, Papa Roach, um. You can find. Uh, their information at Papa roachmerch.com. Um, they’re also on. Uh, Spotify, YouTube music, Apple music, Amazon music, uh, YouTube and I can’t find an Instagram, but you can search them up on YouTube at Papa Roach, and I’m sure they have the information listed there, actually, at that’s a lie. I just found it. Uh, their Instagram is at Papa Roach. Um. Yeah, that is, um, my fun update. Um, yeah, I’m gonna head out.
