In this interview conducted in March 2026, Dr. Terry Ellis, PT, PhD, FAPTA, NCS shares her career trajectory and research experience related to neurologic physical therapy. Having delivered the 2026 Anne Shumway-Cook Lecture at CSM, she is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy and Director of the Center for Neurorehabilitation at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. She, also, serves as Director of the American Parkinson Disease Association National Rehabilitation Resource Center. Dr. Ellis has published extensively and lectures internationally, with her work investigating the impact of exercise and rehabilitation in individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Her clinical expertise includes using mobile health and digital technologies to improve neurologic patient outcomes.
