About Attention Climbers

Sharpen your senses. Peak your perception. Build climbing instinct and adaptability off the wall from the inside out, so that you can climb your hardest on the wall. My name is Crystal, and welcome to Attention Climbers! All guided meditations are live, improvised sessions that I record in one-go and participate in myself. Each episode emerges in a unique moment where I need a relaxed but active meditation for immediate stress reduction, AND wanted to ingrain rock-solid climbing instincts. This is where climbing performance and mind-body health - intersect. Designed for any climber, at any point on your journey, to listen to and follow along with anytime and anywhere you feel safe to relax and be in your body. Rest day? Check. Injured but want to still be climbing"? Check. Pre-climb tune-in? Check. Mid-session rest-and mental reset? Check. Post-climb cool down? Check. Stressy, messy, pressy life moments where you'd rather be climbing? CHECK!  Having a body, a mind, and an attentive state of presence - are all you need. As always, climb well, be well, and thanks for listening!

3 Minute Plank with Climbing Hand-Eye Coordination Meditation

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2464744/fan_mail/new] Sharpen your senses. Peak your perception. Build climbing instinct and adaptability off the wall from the inside out, so that you can climb your hardest on the wall.  I'm Crystal, and I help climbers transform their state from compulsive control to radical self-trust. Welcome to Attention Climbers.  This is a 3 minute guided meditation (from 2:00 with explanation prior) where we hold the plank and optimise our focus, eye movement accuracy and mind-body connection under controlled physiological and psychological stress. By alternating the gaze between the four limbs in the basic climbing locomotive sequence, we lengthen the "attentional endurance" alongside physical and mental endurance.  All meditations, including this one, are live, improvised sessions that I record in one-go and participate in myself. Each episode emerges in a unique moment where I need a relaxed but active meditation for immediate stress reduction, AND want to ingrain rock-solid climbing instincts. 5 Minute Meditation to "Visualise the End Position" for Efficient Movement

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2464744/fan_mail/new] Sharpen your senses. Peak your perception. Build climbing instinct and adaptability off the wall from the inside out, so that you can climb your hardest on the wall.  My name is Crystal, and welcome to Attention Climbers.  This is a 5 minute guided meditation (from 2:00 with explanation prior) where we generate movement by holding a visualised position in our minds, then waiting patiently for the body to reorganise itself creatively and freely to achieve that position. By intentionally practicing the "allowing of the body to do its thing" from a state of rest, we encourage the application of this habit on complex or dynamic climbs where trusting the body is the only ticket to the send.  All meditations, including this one, are live, improvised sessions that I record in one-go and participate in myself. 3 Minute "Shadow Meditation" to Hone the Skill of Visual Externalisation

This is a 3 minute guided meditation (from 4:00 with explanation of "shadow externalisation" prior - would highly recommend you listen to this first :)) to explore a new movement cueing habit - using the shadow of your own foot on a sunny day - that reduces the level of conscious movement micromanagement you use to achieve the movement. Ankle flexion (dorsi and plantarflexion) is a fundamental skill in climbing, so nowhere better than here to begin our practice.  All meditations, including this one, are live, improvised sessions that I record in one-go and participate in myself. 6 Minute Guided Meditation: "Smooth Pursuits" Eye Movement and Visualisation for Climbers

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2464744/fan_mail/new] Sharpen your senses. Peak your perception. Ingrain climbing instinct and adaptability off the wall from the inside out, so that you can climb your hardest on the wall.  My name is Crystal, and welcome to Attention Climbers!  This is a 6 minute guided meditation (from 3:00 with explanation prior) to practice a particular eye movement technique called "smooth pursuits". We first follow our own thumbs while tracing a horizontal line formed by our environment, and then we learn to visualise a dot in place of our actual thumb and "pursue" that imaginary dot along our chosen vector. Honing in on fine motor vision and eye movement skills like this one - increases body-eye coordination and comfort on the wall, enhancing fluidity, confidence and mindset.  All meditations, including this one, are live, improvised sessions that I record in one-and-done "flash goes" while participating myself. Each episode emerges in a unique moment where I need a relaxed but active meditation for immediate stress reduction, AND wanted to ingrain rock-solid climbing instincts. Build climbing instinct and adaptability off the wall from the inside out, so that you can climb your hardest on the wall.  My name is Crystal, and welcome to Attention Climbers.  This is a 5 minute guided "mobility meditation" (from 3:00 with detailed explanation prior) to train high-feet climbing mobility with directional precision at home, using floorboards as "railroad tracks" to guide the trajectory of the foot, and a comfortable, low friction environment to guide mind and body along this precise range of motion. All meditations, including this one, are live, improvised sessions that I record in one-go and participate in myself.
