episode Ribbon Falls with Brad Anderson artwork

Ribbon Falls with Brad Anderson

Brad Anderson has written eleven books including Ribbon Falls. The novel is full of fascinating twists and turns. It all starts on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico in 1977, where Jeff, Chuck and David come across the scene of a grisly murder and almost get killed. In a remarkable twist of fate, the men outsmart their assassin and learn of hidden riches beyond their imagination. One man was in the way of their cashing in, and for decades, what happened in this chance encounter remained a secret as the men waited for Pablo Padilla to die. Finally, an obituary in the New York Times means the mend can claim what has remained buried for twenty-six years. It won’t be easy as an interloper got wind of the cache. Now, it’s a race against time to put the pieces together and determine where the riches are stashed. In the process, these very different men will confront the question of how far they’ll go for money even if it means killing for it. Peace has existed between humans and vampires for centuries…but everything comes to an end. For hundreds of years, Los Guardianes de la Paz – the Guardians of Peace – have enforced an uneasy truce between humans and vampires. When vampires kill two Mexicans on the Rio Grande, everything changes. The vampires must now find a new place to live – and a reliable, clean food supply. Combining elements of the thriller, mystery, and the occult, Guardians is a fast-paced and thoughtful look at a collision of cultures both human and otherwise. Lastly, we talk about the Janus Project series. The Feds have a special place for marquee witnesses. It’s not a matter of where; it’s a matter of when…The Janus Project reveals the struggle of survival when the need for revenge pushes us to the brink of disaster. This character-driven novel and series highlights the dichotomy of a man torn between the fictional life that has been implanted in his new reality and the depth of his instincts that drive him within his innermost soul. Which reality will win? It’s a matter of time. Bio: Brad Anderson lives and works in San Antonio, Texas. He spends most of his longer vacations hiking and camping in America’s National Parks, including Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Anderson is the author of Ribbon Falls, After the Falls, Guardians,The Janus Project. Anderson says one of the fun aspects of writing is scouting out the settings. Then and Now: A Series of Biographical Essays Portraying Changes in Culture Over Nearly a Century.

Jo Ellen in her own words on her book: Sexual mores have changed drastically in my eight decades of life, as well as attitudes about family life, race and religion. I hope to explore changes in attitudes over my life span. This is not a research paper. I taught freshman English in two universities, where the students were required to document carefully. I don’t want to do that anymore. I may get a date or a name wrong. Some names I changed on purpose, to avoid embarrassing the children or grandchildren of people who behaved badly. Instead of factual research, I want to explore emotions and attitudes as they changed over the years. Why are emotions so important? We have just held a very divisive election. We are divided by politics and social mores. Yes, it is better if our emotions are grounded in actual facts; our recent election proved how dangerous feelings are when fed by lies, so I have tried to be as factual as my memory allows, but in the end, our behavior is shaped by how we feel.
