Blind Faith Podcast: Episode Ten with Tom Reynolds

Season one wraps with a stimulating conversation as Tom [https://www.emmanuel.utoronto.ca/about-emmanuel/facultystaff-directory/thomas-e-reynolds] Reynolds joins the discussion. We did into questions spurred from his fabulous work, “Vulnerable [https://www.amazon.com/Vulnerable-Communion-Theology-Disability-Hospitality/dp/1587431777] Communion”. We get into issues of mutuality and reciprocity in being the church and doing theology. Dr. Reynolds examples this in his closing comments…listen till the end. Blind Faith Podcast: Episode Nine with Lisa Powell

Lisa Powell [https://sau.edu/about-sau/directory/faculty/liberal-arts/lisa-powell.php], professor at St. Ambrose University [https://sau.edu/], joins the podcast to discuss her work [https://www.amazon.com/Disabled-God-Revisited-Christology-Liberation/dp/056769433X] “The Disabled God Revisited”. This provocative book helps disability theology interact with core issues in theology. This volume pushes the conversation forward that Nancy Eiesland spawned with “The Disabled [https://www.amazon.com/Disabled-God-Liberatory-Theology-Disability/dp/0687108012] God”. We get to hear what prompted Dr. Powell’s to explore issues of disability. We thank her for her vulnerability in sharing her story. Blind Faith Podcast: Episode Eight with Carlos Thompson

This week, we had the great pleasure of hearing from Dr. Carlos [https://www.westernsem.edu/faculty/thompson/] Thompson, who teaches Christian ministry and disability at Western Theological Seminary. Dr. Thompson also serves as director of the Friendship [https://www.westernsem.edu/beyond-the-classroom/friendship-house/] house, a place where seminary students with intellectual/developmental disabilities live alongside seminary students without disabilities. Dr. Thompson lives with congenital cerebral palsy. His story of being questioned regarding ministry license due to disability speaks to us in this episode.
