President Donald Trump said the US won’t “rush” into a deal with Iran, saying both sides must take their time to “get it right.” This comes after an earlier White House announcement that a deal with Iran to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz is forthcoming. A man was shot by US Secret Service agents near the White House on Saturday after he opened fire with a handgun, according to a statement from the agency. The man had been pacing along the street for some time before he approached a police checkpoint, pulled a pistol from his bag and began firing indiscriminately, said a person familiar with the matter who was granted anonymity to describe a sensitive investigation. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect, who was transported to an area hospital, where he later died, the Secret Service said in the statement.
