About Blunt Bluerberry

Blunt Blueberry Reviews is your go to podcast for honest movie reviews that actually help you decide what to watch next. We cover everything from the latest big screen releases to hidden streaming gems and cult classics that everyone pretends they have seen. No filler, no lectures, just real talk about what works in a film, what does not, and why you should care. Each episode feels like sitting with a friend who loves movies but will not sugarcoat the truth. If the plot is weak, we call it out. If the acting slaps, we celebrate it. We look at story, vibe, pacing, and how a movie sticks with you after the credits roll. Whether you are searching for the best Netflix drop, the next Marvel release, or a nostalgic rewatch, this show makes finding your next watch simple. Blunt Blueberry Reviews is smart, sharp, and just a little savage about the movies everyone is talking about right now.

HBO: Gilded Age - S1: E3 - Face the Music

Welcome back to the recap and review of The Gilded Age Season 1, Episode 3, “Face the Music,” which aired on February 7, 2022. This episode once again opens on that now-familiar street set, which still gives off more backlot vibes than Manhattan glamour. Inside, we sit with Agnes, Ada, and Marian as they prepare for a Red Cross talk at Aurora Fane’s home. Their people-watching immediately brings the Russells into the picture as Gladys heads out under the watchful eye of her governess. Gladys, meanwhile, is still locked in her gilded cage, as Bertha hesitates to introduce her to society until she’s certain she can fill a ballroom. On the other side, Gladys has her eye on Archie Baldwin, a young banker who might not pass the test of “old money” respectability. Across town, the staff have their own budding storylines. Bridget and Jack, the footman, test out a possible romance, hoping for a night off together. The Russell household is alive with gossip, as George navigates business rumors that threaten his recent win with the railroads. The social tug-of-war sharpens this episode. The Russells are desperate for recognition, and Bertha is strategically working her way closer to Mrs. Astor’s approval. On the other side, Agnes continues to deliver blunt truths, often at Marian’s expense, reminding us of the high stakes in this old-money versus new-money divide. Episode 3 balances the ambitions of the Russells, the frustrations of Gladys, and the upstairs-downstairs dynamics that make this series tick. While the pacing sometimes leans on repetitive settings, the relationships deepen, and the question lingers—who will rise, and who will be left behind?

FX | Hulu - Alien: Earth - S1:E2 - Mr. October

Alien: Earth – “Mr. October” Season 1, Episode 2 – Air Date: August 12, 2025 This chapter picks up in the aftermath of the crash as CJ and his armed team sweep the wreckage, finding bodies marked by bullets, poison, and deep slashes. The term “foreign body” becomes code for something far worse, and in the shadows, we catch the first living alien on Earth. On Neverland Island, Dame Sylvia watches young Wendy while Boy Kavalier basks in his own genius, revealing he built Wendy’s supercomputer mind to find someone smarter than himself. Aboard the transport vessel, Wendy and the Lost Boys head for the crash site, still acting like the kids they once were. On the ground, CJ’s path turns into a chase when the alien attacks, leading to a tense elevator escape and a flashback to his wish to leave field work behind. Wendy reaches across the distance to block his transfer request, keeping him on Earth. Back at the site, the rival corporations circle each other. Yutani demands the wreck, Boy Kavalier refuses. Wendy and Slightly push through damaged floors to reach CJ, while elsewhere the Lost Boys encounter a pod hanging from the ceiling, infected guards, and a grotesque alien parasite hiding in a cat’s eye. Morrow subdues and cocoons an alien, but it escapes, revealing it reacts to fear—something Siberian doesn’t give it. Wendy finally reunites with CJ, her true identity revealed. Their moment is short-lived as they step into a chamber of alien eggs, the sound growing louder. The alien strikes, sending CJ out into the night. FX | Hulu - Alien: Earth - S1:E1 - Neverland’s Shadow

Alien: Earth – “Neverland’s Shadow” Season 1, Episode 1 – Air Date: August 12, 2025 The premiere begins aboard the transport vessel Starling as its crew wakes and prepares for docking. Captain Rhea Sloane leads with quiet command, while her first officer, Kai Mercer, moves through his duties under the watch of crewmates who clearly do not trust him—his synthetic nature the unspoken reason. Their mission is to deliver a highly classified piece of cargo back to Earth. That cargo is unlike anything humanity has ever handled: a human consciousness transferred into a synthetic adult body. The girl who once lived now walks as “Wendy,” her mind housed in a body designed for endurance and intellect. The larger universe is set against the backdrop of three dominant factions: the United Earth Directorate, the Allied Science Council, and the Martian Trade Coalition. Each governs parts of Earth, the Moon, Mars, and the nearest colonies with shifting alliances and thinly veiled rivalries. On Neverland Island, a hidden facility has perfected the transfer of consciousness. Here, Wendy’s new form awakens. Overseen by the program’s director, the island is a strange mix of clinical precision and idealized fantasy, the place where a dying girl has been reborn into something more. The episode closes with hints of shadowed threats waiting beyond the safety of either the Starling or Neverland. The mission is complete for now, but the air is already heavy with what’s coming. #AlienEarth #NeverlandsShadow #FXNetworks #HuluOriginals #SciFiSeries #AlienSaga #Xenomorph #SpaceThriller #TVPremiere2025 #SciFiCommunity #SciFiFans #ScienceFictionTV #AlienFranchise #TVReviewPodcast #PodcastReview #TVRecap #StreamingNow #WatchOnHulu #SpaceDrama #SciFiAdventure

HBO: Gilded Age Review: S1: E2 - "Money Isn’t Everything"

Welcome back to The Gilded Age recap series, where we dive headfirst into the power plays, backstabbing, and ballroom politics of 1880s New York. In Season 1, Episode 2, “Money Isn’t Everything” (aired January 31, 2022), the lines between old money and new money sharpen even further. From Marian’s growing bond with Peggy to Bertha Russell’s relentless push for social acceptance, this episode is a master class in calculated moves. We cover Agnes van Rhijn’s disapproval of Marian’s charity work, the high-society snub aimed at the Russells, George’s ruthless business dealings, and the grand finale — a bazaar buyout that leaves every socialite in the room stunned. We also talk about the undercurrents: Oscar’s strategic (and not-so-strategic) romantic moves, the subtle power of household staff, and why Mrs. Astor remains the ultimate gatekeeper. If you think money buys everything in The Gilded Age, this episode proves otherwise — it’s about timing, influence, and the perfect display of power. #TheGildedAge #GildedAgeHBO #HBO #MoneyIsntEverything #CarrieCoon #ChristineBaranski #LouisaJacobson #DenéeBenton #MorganSpector #TaissaFarmiga #NYCSociety #PeriodDrama #HBORecap #PodcastReview #TVPodcast #GildedAgeRecap #HistoricalDrama #TVReview #BerthaRussell #GeorgeRussell
